Breakfast was very good a combination of traditional Serbian breakfast as well as everything needed for international travelers(muesli, oats, good selection of nuts, eggs, bacon etc). Location is beyond any expectation since the hotel is located inside the Petrovaradin Fortress this is definitely a very unique experience and a unique opportunity to see a bit of history of Novi Sad without any extra effort. The fortress is very close to the city center some 20 min walking distance if not even shorter time is needed.

Beds very not as comfortable but again it depends on your preference. Hotel is quite traditional so many things are kept in the traditional style so you will not find some super modern hair dryer etc in the bathroom but on the other hand it still has a super nice gym and all that you need.

The location is excellent, the employees are friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast includes a varied offer with local specialties and everything is delicious. It is clean and comfortable.

The mattress on the bed is uneven and sagging and the hairdryer in the bathroom was not working. There are not enough sockets for all needs and they are not close to the bed. All in all, although the room is clean and pleasant, these are the little things that decided the rating of the overall impression

The room was amazing! We got upgraded to one of the baroque-style rooms with antique-looking furniture and a view of the river. It was really amazing. It was like staying in a castle. The staff was really excellent and did everything they could to make our stay as good as possible. And the breakfast was amazing too. But the best part of this stay was just being inside the antique buildings of the fortress, essentially PART of the history of Novi Sad.

Unfortunately, there are some night clubs near the hotel which can be sort of loud. They apparently only operate during the winter but can be problematic for some. It wasn't an issue for me but some of my guests could hear the base of the music well into the night.

The location can't be beat, in the Petrovaradin fortress across the river from the town of Novi Sad. The rooms are very small and strangely laid out because of the historic nature of the building, but the staff upgraded us to a suite, which gave us a little more room and was very much appreciated. The breakfast and the breakfast room were lovely. There is a terrific restaurant next door, Karlo, associated with the hotel, with an awesome view and good food, perfect for a romantic dinner.

The internet was so slow as to be almost useless. I was unable to download a business document to my computer or upload my photos from my phone.

It is a privilege to be able to stay a few nights in an Austro-Hungarian fort (without being a soldier or prisoner :) ). I recommend it to anyone who is ready to appreciate the historical weight of the place. Beyond that, it is a well-organized hotel, with good aesthetics, in a wonderful place... and very safe. If you stay here, try the restaurant recommended by the hotel. You probably won't get the 5% discount promissed, but the food is authentic.

Unfortunately, the smell in the bathroom is a major problem. I stayed in a budget room but I hope that the more expensive rooms do not have this shortcoming.

The Hotel Leopold on might look as a very attractive place to visit due to it being a former fortress. The outside of this building is surely impressive, however the inside is not as exciting. First of all, breakfast seriously is not up to the standards of a 4 star hotel and the AC is one of the weakest I have ever experienced (Serbia gets super hot during summer so good AC is truly helpful) and overall the hotel was a bit on the older side. But all of this is only a minor issue to one glaring issue. For context Novi Sad was hit by one of the strongest storms that have ever been registered in this area. The storm was so strong it blew away tiles that unfortunately destroyed parts of our cars and also the parts of the roof made it impossible to safely drive around . That night the hotel crew helped us to cover some of the damage with plastic foil and we were moved to different rooms due to some problems with electricity. The crew that had service the next day was mostly anything but helpful. For starters they did not send anyone to clear the mess that storm created or offered us any reasonable solution. We were basically forced to clean the road for our car. The most bizarre part of this story was that the receptionist for that day was wondering why we were cleaning the road. The only person that helped us that day was an older cleaning lady because she offered us a vacuum cleaner to clean the inside of our vehicle but that is about it. So, I definitely see the overall response to the disaster as an absolute failure on the hotel's behalf. Overall I highly recommend not to stay in this place. Although the events that we experienced are as not probable then more typical problems we still think it is better to highlight so other potential quests can learn from our experience.

Various breakfast (but... see below). Very large and nice clean room (thanks to the free upgrade we received). Good WI-FI connection (which is a real advantage if your mobile data is limited in Serbia, as it was our case). Large free parking. Very nice and helpful staff. Very good sink and shower water pressure. Comfortable bed. Very nice surroundings (the hotel is located right in a castle, on a high hill near Novi Sad city) with few restaurants around and a great view over the city and the Danube.

If you don't want to try local food and many pieces of confectionery, the breakfast doesn't look as various as at the first glance anymore. Not any view from room window (it was just another wall at few meters distance). If you plan to visit Novi Sad by walking, starting from hotel, you might have a problem...

Rooms were just okay, but we stayed in the eco part of hotel (second floor), so there weren't high expectations. One night (we booked every single night separately so in two days we checked in and checked out twice) I received the room that was in a mess, surely not cleaned after previous visitor. After reporting it to the staff and up to 10 mins of waiting, the man that I previously met at reception desk came up with the lady responsible for housekeeping and after checking the room and having a brief conversation in Romanian, they led me to another room. The lady apologized a lot (in Romanian, but the intention was clear :) ). After all, it all got dealt with efficiently, so it have not affected my overall stay in the hotel much. The view for Dunau and the city across the river is rewarding! Even though there are really small windows in the top floor with difficult access to it due to the wide shelf/windowsill below it. The location in general is magnificent and the late night dinner at one of the restaurants on the terrace is a must upon visit!

Rooms were just okay for the price.

Great view The staff was unbelievable friendly and caring. There is a small shop in the district right below the castle where you can buy anything that one could need (can be easily missed, best ask the staff for directions). The city center can be also reached within a 20 minute walk. But there are a couple of stairs to take. For people that have issues with climbing stairs, a taxi drive is not that costly and the staff helps with it as well.

Location Staff Breakfast Parking The hotel is located on the grounds of old fortresses overlooking the river. Fairytale location! Beautiful walks start from the front door, and good restaurants (with panoramic glass sections) are 1 min walk. We ate at Karlo and Terasa and loved both. Parking was easy and free. But the best of all was hotel staff hospitality. Everyone made us feel super welcome and at home. Especially a gentleman who was in charge of breakfast. In spite of the language barrier, we felt like visiting a family. Sorry, we didn't ask his name.

Our twin room was very clean and comfortable, but I have to mention quite a distinctive smell of airfreshener that didn't agree with us.
