Apart from being in a very good location with high level of interior design and comfort, the staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble…attentive, helpful, friendly and all round amazing individuals. Prince, the manager, was very visible to guests and always available to help. Memory went above and beyond and even booked me a dentist appointment which was much appreciated. Breakfast was amazing and the staff will happily accommodate any request. AMAZING STAY!

Welgelegen House is in a lovely part of the city and a beautiful old building. We received a very warm welcome from Memory who made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. She and all the staff were very friendly and helpful for providing recommendations. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, and the included breakfast was good. They were also accommodating with holding our luggage until our late flight on the day we left. We can highly recommend staying here!

As it's an old building, rooms aren't entirely soundproof and you can hear some footsteps and muffled voices. It wasn't enough to bother us though and added to the charm of the place.

Memory was an amazing actually every staff member was great. The place is beautiful and warm.

Perfect in every way! Now I know why everyone gives high ratings. Welgelegen has thought of everything to ensure guest comfort. Great location, too, on a quiet street 5 minutes from Kloof Street. Amazing views of Table Mountain (at least from the family room), wonderful fresh breakfast options, very comfortable beds. Thank you Memory and Sidney for making our stay so pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!

Welgelegen House is your home away from home. It is beautifully decorated and just feels right. But most importantly, the staff are like family, happy to see you and ready to ensure your comfort. Prince and Memory and the rest of the staff helped us fill our days with adventures and find great restaurants. The breakfast is awesome and the rooms are comfortable. Location was great!

We were 2 families with 2 young kids. Amazing home like property with brilliant setting in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. There are grocery stores, cafes, food options within 5 mins walk. Prince / Memory (managers) and the staff are exceptional in hospitality & service - be it food, local bookings, suggestions for day trips, etc. They found and reported one of our lost passports post our departure. Prince then came over to Franschoek (2hrs drive) to deliver the passport personally. How do you beat this kind of service !!

The staff was friendly, always eager to help and appeared genuinely committed to making our stay a pleasant one. The property itself is beautiful and ideally located close to everything you'd likely need when visiting Cape Town. It's also central for Uber in case you aren't travelling with your own car.

Absolutely nothing to be honest. The house is old and the floors are largely wood, which means sound carries quite a bit throughout the property, however that isn't a deal breaker and would have no bearing on my keenness to return to the property for a visit.

The rooms and breakfast were outstanding. Staff was super helpful and always there to make our stay pleasant. Recommendations for local restaurants were top notched as were advise for local touring.

The shared rooms and breakfast room were somewhat cold. It was winter and it was unusually cold during our stay. However, the staff often left the doors open which did not help the situation. Some space heaters could have helped a lot to make it more comfortable.

The hospitable welcome. Detailed information on stay, tourist attractions and assistance on securing alternative arrangements for my friends. The manner in which the staff treated and cared for my children, truly amazing and heartwarming. Overall, the guest oriented staff and that they even treat each other respectfully augers well for the establishment as a business.

The location was quiet and well placed for experiencing what Cape Town offers. The staff led by Memory, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Would throughly recommend Welgelegen.

Our room had wonderful views of Table Mountain. Downside was early morning noise from next door property's kitchen. A small price to pay overall.
