As other reviews have stated the food is great. Sometimes with all inclusive it can be a gamble but rest assured there's tasty food options for all including a nice salad bar. The staff are friendly and location is perfect. The beds are also very comfortable and the hotel is pleasantly clean. I've stayed in others in Gran Canária and hopefully if we come back we will be using the Abora Catalina again.

Unfortunately the pool near our room was under construction which is just bad timing on our side but there were others to use which was fine. The only real complaint is that we wish the pool was open later than 6.

We have stayed at many hotels around the world. This is also a great hotel with clean rooms and a kind, polite staff, BUT… We have never seen an entertainment team like this before!!! They worked with such heart and passion that words cannot describe it. They were not only friendly and smiling, as most animators are in hotels, but the level of harmony, professionalism, and charisma this team had was something we had never experienced before. I can confidently say that we will return to this hotel as soon as possible just to meet this team again. We congratulate each member for their dedication and are grateful, as guests, that they contributed to our fantastic vacation.

Location is great: close to the beach and walk distance from centre. Facilities are amazing: pool is great, the only small problem is only few hours of direct sun, and in afternoon most of sun-beds are in the shade (been there in November, so not sure if during whole year). Food is good and there is plenty of choice. Hours for breakfast, lunch and dinner are comfortable (so no need to rush), and availability of snacks 24h is a big plus. Evening show by the pool was great every day.

Room was advertised as adults only, but hotel is not adults only, so expect kids roaming around the main swimming pool and around the restaurant.

The FOOD! So good, so much variety and available literally all day! Best all inclusive food I had. Staff was friendly, specially the cleaning ladies in the restaurant, reception staff and animation team. I liked that every time we passed by them, they would look us in the eye and say hello. The disco kids is a hit! I was also positive surprised by how clean it was everywhere and how dedicated and professional the cleaning stff at the restaurant were.

Get Punchi a new costume haha! No seriously its a great hotel, there was nothing we didnt like.

The food was great, I am not a fan of buffets but have to say its one of the best buffets in a hotel I have had, the entertainment team work so hard and it shows, very good, fantastic for kids, although we didn't have kids with us we appreciated hiw good this hotel is for families and will return with my gran kids, location is fantastic too, pool bar serving drinks all day and night with different food areas for snacks, you are never hungry or thirsty in this hotel

The shower was rubbish, no pressure and goes hot and cold every 30 seconds, the toilet flush is tricky to use, we get that thus hotel is a save the plant kind of hotel but a shower is one of the important things in your room, second to a comfy bed which it was. Some of the room locations are a bit of a trek away from the bars and restaurants, we were in room 458 which is quite a distance away, it involved walking down 3 corridors with 2 sets of stairs, not ideal with a load of cases, and that was just to get to the lift to take youbto floor 4, and yep 458 is right at the end of the corridor so a mission to get anywhere, so ask for rooms nearer the restaurant if you can get one

The Staff especially the girl on reception ,really friendly and helpful,unlike the 2 older men at the reception on Dunas On the beach San Augustin,who were unhelpful when I realised I had mistaken booked dunas in Cape Verde. Superior family room with a view,fantastic view,comfortable beds,gorgeous Room. Food & drinks 1st class,served quickly no queues any bar.Plenty of staff,unlike any other all inclusive I’ve visited. Location perfect,Entertainment excellent.Animation team so professional. Hairdresser on site,Which looked reasonably priced.Plenty of pools ,jacuzzi,and a naked solarium on roof,which we didn’t visit as we didn’t have enough time.Would definitely return.

Loved everything

i like a hotel.It was very clean and room was amazing.The food was very tasty and it was a lot and plenty different options .My child likes swimming and mini disco which it was every single day.I also like the staff from a reception.It was very helpful and from restaurant.This is big hotel and you are able to wake around evening.I like a kettle in my room, we had good quality shower gel and shampoo in the room and clean towels every single day.The plenty small shops and bars around the swimming.It is very close to the big shopping centre and Natural Reserve Dunas de Maspalomas so you can walk 3 min from the Hotel.I like club for kids and it looks like lovely but my child didn’t want to stay in.I like the people from the bar downstairs and special this older gentleman which make good drinks.

I don’t like that is quite far to the beach around 10 min and the view from a room which we had for few palms and noice swimming.We had fun because a lot people went to put towels to the sun bed morning around 8.00 am and when you went evening, we didn’t have chance to got one .We don’t care because we like going around but if you like time just in hotel is difficult.Although It was a billiard you had payed.€1 .The hotel was quite expensive so I don’t like that you have to pay deposit for towels.It is very big hotel.

Hotel stuff is amazing. Outstanding animation team, gardeners, waiters...etc. Stuff has made our stay very pleasant. This is what makes this hotel different from others. I fully recommend this hotel for an enjoyable sunny holiday.

It should be replaced slippery tiles around the pool and some slope walkways. It's slippery when it's wet. The sofa mattress for kids is very hard.

Breakfast was very varied and always to a high standard as were all the meals and a different theme each night. Always to a high standard. The entertainment team were simply outstanding, my kids honestly loved them and they put their heart and soul into everything they did- starting at 11 in the morning with aqua aerobics to making smoothies and laughing joking and getting to know everyone. Each evening there was a children’s disco which my kids would devour their dinner in order to not miss it followed by an amazing show all created by this team. I can’t give them enough praise. All the staff go above and beyond, the kitchen chefs and staff work tirelessly as do the cleaning staff. Our room was cleaned first thing each morning. The bar staff work so hard and clean and pick up glasses serve cocktails and ensure everyone gets a seat. There is food laid on non stop, from the start of the day with breakfast, lunch, all day pool snacks then dinner, You will not be disappointed by your stay at this hotel. We will definitely be back Thank you so much for such a fabulous family holiday

The pool can be a bit busy but only at certain times and unless you got down early for beds it could be tricky to get them together but we were a family of 6.

Location amazing, walking distance between the city center and the beaches. Great staff and friendly everywhere food was really good for all inclusive

Water leaking from the shower to the floor, bathroom door needs renovation, broken tiles around the pools very slippery
