The location is perfect for seeing all of central Stockholm and for enjoying boat excursions. The breakfast buffet was really well stocked with plenty of variety to satisfy all tastes. My room was recently renovated and nicely appointed with a small balcony. The dining hall is just outstandingly beautiful, more so than anticipated. Also a lovely outside dining area or places for drinks just bordering a small park.

My only nit is that room was small. It had no desk/table one could sit at. Also the bathroom lacked a shelf where one could easily lay out toiletries.

The breakfast was excellent with so much choice and variety. The room itself was stunning! The location was excellent! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed out stay and the minute cute balcony

I was very surprised how compact the room was... No room for two suitcases on the floor at all and vey little storage as well. My husband kept his clothes in his suitcase packed and and zip closed, stood on its smallest surface I folded clothes and hung clothes in the wardrobe - there were qyuite a few hangers fortunately ...

this is a magical hotel, brilliantly located near the historical district, the galleries and museums and the best shops. we were able to walk everywhere. The room was spacious and well appointed and had a whimsical flair.The hotel, being part of the history of the city for over 150 years has very interesting photographs and art work in all the central spaces and also adorning the hotel corridors. This adds to the warmth of the hotel as well. The main dining area is breathtaking with gorgeous chandeliers dating from the period when the hotel was first established, ceiling decoration fit for a palace and an illuminated balcony. The breakfasts are wonderful with all the options found in a top quality buffet. However, the secret to the elevated guest experience at this hotel is the staff. There is a warmth, pride in the hotel and kindness which amkes one's stay really special. Astrid, the manager at the reception is exceptional. She offered us advice about shopping and sightseeing which saved us time and made the experience in Stockholm really memorable. I would never stay anywhere else in Syockholm.

Need to sort out seating in Dining area as at times there was not enough seating Especially for Breakfast I little point is that l think guests should be made aware of dining area times as they do mid afternoon sittings It’s a place where the general public frequent so if you do not book you all your meals it will be full - Staff need to make this clear to guests on arrival as it’s open to the pubic and guests have no preferential treatment. I was there in early December so it was very busy but still fabulous.

The location is perfect for being a tourist. It’s an eccentric old building with a magnificent dining room. And a small gym in the basement.

We were in one of the newly renovated rooms which was done to a high standard but was tiny. It was a fine compromise to make for location but be aware that the room and the ensuite are tiny.

Unfortunately, only Asian cuisine is offered including drinks at the bar, at least that's not what you would expect from Sweden. Heating, windows urgently need to be renovated in winter, very cold, air conditioning on the roof so that the upper floors have all the noises in the room. Unfortunately, this also applies to the kitchen exhaust air, which is blown out directly in front of the room.

I have stayed in Berns before. It's an iconic hotel with so much history. While the rooms are small, the hotel itself, its facilities, service, staff and outlets make up for this. I stayed with a friend, but this is probably an excellent hotel choice for couples. Space is limited in the room and you get to be very "close"! :) The breakfast is absolutely superb.

Nothing major - rooms are on the smaller side, but this is not a deal breaker in such an iconic hotel in such a great location.

Excellent location at the heart of Stockholm, easy access to main tourist attractions.

Public areas within the hotel are very limited. Staff at breakfast were on occasion officious and unhelpful. Our room was located several floors above the nightclub associated with the hotel. The constant low bass beat from the nightclub from 9pm until about 5am was not particularly disturbing, but once identified was impossible to ignore; irritating during the evening in the room and especially so if you woke during the night.

The hotel is located in an excellent location for an easy walk to discover the city. We arrived early morning and our room was not ready (not hotel fault but our timing). We were able to upgrade our room and check in at about 9am. The hotel is beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable! We only stayed one night but the included buffet breakfast was nice with lots of choices and a mimosa waiting at the door. Staff were so nice and accommodating, allowing us to register early, stamping and posting our postcards without charge, arranging car service to the airport and communicating with us in clear English.

The only drawback for some travelers is that there are about 5 steps to enter the building into the entry and then another few steps to enter the hotel. This may be a problem for some travelers with their luggage although I believe this to add to the charm of this historical hotel and was not an issue for us.

Perfect location next to a small park and the water; beautiful hotel, the chandeliers in the restaurant are original; great staff who were really helpful; really comfortable beds, thick fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, and proper coat hangers; and an excellent breakfast in that stunning hall.

The mirror at the foot of the bed, weird, two friends sharing a room have no need for a horizontal bed-mirror; the thumping music from the "house of entertainment" five floors below, but hey, the hotel provided ear plugs.
