This hotel should be rated higher than it is. Sure, it's not a resort, but it's kept clean and well maintained and it has great charm. Christine and her staff make everyone feel welcome and you probably will feel like moving in and calling it home. We had a larger room for three of us and a separate room upstairs for another member of our party. Both were exactly what we needed, and you don't have to awkwardly share a bathroom with complete strangers. The beds are comfortable and the showers don't run out of hot water. The breakfasts in the morning offer a little variety and they are a great way to start your day. The breakfasts offered personal service. We loved visiting with Christine and are very thankful for everything she and the Hotel Alphorn provided for us. We hope to travel here again and would consider other places only if the Hotel Alphorn was completely booked.

We didn't experience any issues and would not change a thing.

1. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The towels were changed daily as well. 2. The breakfast was made up of bread, butter and other spreads, cold cuts, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt, juice and coffee. It was enough to sustain us till mid afternoon. 3. The location was in Interlaken West, more on the quiet side of town. Very near train station and one can easily walk all the way to Interlaken Ost. 4. Hospitality - it was Sassa who received us when we arrived and she explained the house rules. On the succeeding days, it was Christine who met us for breakfast. I didn't get the name of the person in charge of housekeeping - she was awesome!

The location is REALLY GREAT. Short walk, approximately 400 meters, from the Interlaken West station with Migros Supermarket nearby. Also, room is VERY CLEAN and VERY SPACIOUS. Hotel staff cleans rooms daily. Breakfast buffet is GENEROUS with a selection of cheese, cold cuts, bread, juices, cereals, and fruits. Most importantly, hotel staff is generously accommodating especially Sassa. Sassa makes interaction with guests really warm, friendly, and personal. Stay at Alphorn is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I just hoped there was air-conditioning in the room, or perhaps I just didn't notice it. The room's heater was constantly turned on since it was winter during our stay in December 2024, so room could get quite warm unless the window is opened.

Friendly stuff Cleanliness Location In general, very good hotel. I recommend it.

Blanket size Tiny bathroom Although the bed is double, the blanket is definitely not suitable for this bed - too narrow. The bathroom size is ridiculous. There is only 35cm between the toilet seat and the wall. So I had to use the toilet sideways. It was impossible to wash my face and shave in a sink with the closed door. Because when I bend down, I hit the wall. So I had to open the door, bend towards the sink and get half of my body outside of the bathroom. The same applies to having a shower. Once I get out, impossible to towel off with the limited space - I swiped my whole body down the wall all the time. But it's very minor inconveniences. For a few nights there, it was absolutely all right. Very good hotel.

Incredible place to stay! Would without a doubt choose hotel Alphorn over a 5 star hotel chain any day. Christine was amazing and really made an impression on our stay, especially with all her personal recommendations around town. I didn’t catch the other ladies name that we crossed paths with on Thursday morning (very sorry) but despite still preparing breakfast for the day, you made sure we had a bite to eat and drink before we went on our way. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel, and it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the warm hospitality provided by the owner, Christine, and her wonderful staff, Sasa and Nelia. These lovely ladies made the experience unforgettable with their caring and friendly nature. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations; Christine's stories were a delightful bonus. I would gladly return just to spend more time with them. The rooms were spotless and charming, with lovely windows that offered great views. The hotel's location on a quaint street is incredibly convenient, just a 3-minute walk to Interlaken West station and a bus stop if you take the shortcut, and only 6-7 minutes through the town. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the nearby regions, with all the necessary shops and restaurants nearby. The key system is quite interesting, allowing guests to enter the hotel even after the reception closes at 7 pm. Additionally, they provide an Interlaken city card and guide, which covers all transport in Interlaken for the duration of your stay. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay and can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

The breakfast provided was lovely, featuring mostly cold options such as cereals, cheese, breads, and some boiled eggs. While the selection was satisfying, it may be a bit challenging for those who prefer hot breakfast items. The rooms, though cozy and charming, don't have air conditioning. This wasn't an issue during my stay as the weather was mild, and a fan was provided, which helped. However, on hotter days, the room did feel a bit stuffy, needing open windows for ventilation. The bathrooms are quite compact, making the toilet and shower area somewhat congested. The sink is located outside the bathroom in the corner of the main room, which was a bit unconventional but manageable.

We stayed at Hotel Alphorn for 3 nights during our stop in Interlaken. Christina and the staff were gracious hosts and could not have been nicer! The hotel is conveniently located by the Interlaken West train station. The room was clean and comfortable, we even had a balcony, which had views of the amazing Alps. The breakfast provided many choices of cereal, eggs, pastries, fruit, all of which were delicious! Croissants are amazing! The key system was unique and very clever, it worked efficiently and saved us from carrying a key around all day! We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Alphorn and would highly recommend it!

Everything! I loved the location of the property to Interlaken West train station and the bus stops. It was also off the main noisy touristy strip allowing for some peace and quiet. The room was a decent size, and the bed comfortable. I didn’t miss not having an AC as you’re provided with a fan and I loved having the windows open to see the mountains. I couldn’t believe how many English TV channels there were, which was nice to wind down at the end of the day. Christine was a delight to greet at the start of my stay and in the mornings at breakfast or when I returned from my adventures. As were the other staff. It was a very warm, welcoming, safe place.

For me there was nothing not to like!

The staff were all very friendly and the owner Christine went over and above to make us feel welcome and gave us lots of recommendations and advice to help make the best use of our short stay. The breakfast was delicious, with a good choice of different cereals, meats and cheeses as well as yogurt and fresh fruit. The hotel was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely room. We travelled with our dog and she was also made to feel very welcome by the staff. I would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely hotel and would love to go back some day again.

I've asked several questions prior to my visit and the hotel always came back with prompt and helpful responses! The owner of the hotel, a lovely lady, greeted me at the reception and provide great travel advices in Interlaken. The location of the hotel is amazing - less than 10 mins to Interlaken West train station, and around 15 mins to go to the old town (Unterseen). Breakfast buffet includes delicious Swiss bread, cheese, meat slices, and cereals. Highly recommend it!

The curtains can be thicker for more shade. It can be quite bright in the morning and disrupt sleep.
