✅Great old charm being the “oldest motel in town” ✅Mostly old people or hikers stay here so it’s a very quiet and tight nit community ✅Hotel staff were lovely

❌Language barriers between hotel staff and guests (we were told to go on a “2 hour hike” but it was actually a 5 hour hike that costs us $200) ❌”Buffet Breakfast” was below average (if you eat like a squirrel, then you will love it). They serve every nut and grain under the sun, yoghurt, cheese, tomatoes and cucumber. If you want a juicy bacon and egg roll and some hash browns, then this isn’t the buffet for you.

The view is perfect, do not expect a modern hotel, the charm is the history of the hotel. We stayed in this hotel last year, we really liked it. It is a perfect start for hiking. I think it is the best village to experience the uniqueness of this area. During our stay I experienced an issue with a payment (charged amount was to high due to a typo, this was perfectly solved, thanks to support of the friendly staff).

Check what you are booking, we know the hotel, we booked a room with a view. Expecting a balcony and nice side room. When checking the reservation the room was compliant with the booking details. So check what you want and make sure you make the right booking: amount of beds, balcony, mountain view. During checking in we where able to upgrade the room, but it came naturally with extra costs.

When you talk about Murren, you have to talk about how crazy the view is from the Regina terrace. If you stay there, be by those windows as often as possible. The breakfast was also a great selection and a good amount before a morning hiking. The location in relation to hiking Schilthorn is ideal, and the cable cars are easy enough of a system to figure out (I parked at Stechelberg). This was one of my favourite stays on my vacation! Though it was a shared bathroom, I rarely had to wait for long if at all.

Because of how great the location of this hotel is, the outside gets BUSY during the day with tourists and it is very loud - due to no aircon or fans, you have to have the windows open in the summer which is largely inconvenient if you want to nap post-hike. Make sure you figure out dinner before 7.30pm as everything in town closes (though the Chinese takeaway is great for a late meal if you miss everything).

Because we were out and about so much, I wouldn't have thought it was worth it to pay extra for the mountain view. However, it ended up being such a treat to wake up and go to sleep with such scenery right out the window! The breakfast room and the breakfast food were wonderful -- more incredible views and delicious local breads, homemade jam, herbed cottage cheese (which they shared the recipe to us), wonderful cappuccino machine, etc. Fixed price dinner menu appeared to be a good value for the amount of food (dinners were quite pricey in Murren) but the menus while we were there weren't the traditional Swiss entrees we were looking for (fondue, raclette, etc.) Shared bathroom situation ended up being no big deal -- shower room was co-ed with 2 to 3 shower stalls per floor which were clean, large and great water pressure. 1st floor is half a flight of stairs from the lobby with an elevator that served 2nd thru 3rd floors.

A room with two twins should be a separate booking type from a room with a full bed since that is very different in terms of the amount of sleeping space for two adults. Lunch menu could use some additional items.

Great location of the hotel to the cable car and the grocery nearby. Incredibly amazing view from a room on the mountains. Nice breakfast with different options and food to choose, although it was only cold dish that was served. Room was cozy and stylish, however it looks like the hotel has not been renovated since a while. Personnel was nice and helpful. We reallly enjoyed our stay and if we only get a chance to come back to Murren, this object could be our first choice once again.

It would be nice if the soft boiled eggs have been served warm and not cold at the breakfast. We also missed the bathroom in the room, however those which were shared on the corridors, were free and clean anytime we used them, which satisfied our needs.

Rustic hotel in a very charming village of Murren. Every corner of the hotel is a piece of history. We especially love the beautiful dining hall with a spectacular view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Needless to say the balcony also boast the view of the 3 mighty peaks. Breakfast is great with a very delicious butter which I somehow couldn’t find elsewhere. Maybe source from local farm?.. Worth every penny to stay here. Will definitely stay again.

The floor creaks, but it is understandable as this is a very very old historic hotel.

Every year, on the same dates, we visit Mürren to celebrate our anniversary and stay at this hotel for a while. Despite having traveled extensively throughout Switzerland, we have never experienced a hotel that offered such exceptional value for money. Upon learning that it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the room type we had booked, for which we are immensely grateful. Our room featured a french-balcony with breathtaking mountain views. The hotel's location, along with its restaurant and terrace offering panoramic vistas, was outstanding. After we had our anniversary dinner, we also attended the piano concert held at the hotel’s restaurant. It was a great experience. We enjoyed an incredibly romantic holiday, rekindling our memories. Thank you very much for everything.

The buffet breakfast at the hotel used to offer a much wider selection in previous years. Although the variety we expected was not present this year, everything was exceptionally delicious. As always, we enjoyed our breakfast in a pristine and meticulously maintained dining room.

The rooms are clean (dated, but clean), the location is perfect, the breakfast is good, the views are incredible. Beds are comfortable. The showers / shared bathrooms are clean and easy to use. I would recommend staying here. It has everything you need for a hiking trip at a reasonable price for the area.

This is definitely an older property with no sound proofing, so it is noisy. As hikers, we would've loved it if the breakfast opened a little earlier than 7:30. No major complaints and nothing that would keep us from staying here again.

Views are beautiful, we loved the outdoor patio and common spaces. The cocktails I had in the bar were just delicious. The staff here was out of this world exceptional, kind, helpful to ask about hikes/the area/foods/etc. We had a fabulous experience at the restaurant as well, just felt like home. Would love to stay here again, comfiest beds we had on our trip. The wind really rips at night, so we played some white noise and that helped. We never waited for a restroom, I was nervous for this part, but it ended up never being an issue!

The. View. Nothing can prepare you for the view from your balcony. It is uninhibited and one of the most breathtaking views I have ever experienced. I use the word “experience” intentionally. That view is not something you just see. It is something you experience. The breakfast was wonderful. Fresh dairy products, breads, salamis and other meats, coffee, absolutely enjoyable.

This may have been my overlook, but I wasn’t aware the rooms shared bathrooms on the hall. I had 0 problems with that and never ran into anyone else in the bathroom.
