Breakfast was really good. We love the place , its quite and overlooking the famous mountain Matterhorn at the room balcony . The view of the village with snow was also very amazing . I love to comeback again this place. Worth the value of your money. Highly recommended

Alpenlodge one of the best hotel that I have ever stayed in, with services and value way more than many 5 star hotels! The lodge and the rooms are exceptionally beautiful, with many unique and delicate touches. The folks who work there are amazingly friendly and helpful beyond belief. There is always cake, snacks, coffee, and light drinks available for guests, and if you book a two night stay like we did, they will pick you up and drop you off from the train station for free. Most importantly, the room we stayed in features pretty much the best view of the magnificent Matterhorn. That view alone is already worth the price, let alone all the other exceptional services. Given how much things cost in Zermatt, this place is a bargain!

It's a steep walk from the train station and downtown, but that means you get peace and nice vantage points.

Best​ view ever, overlook the whole of zermatt and Matterhorn. Exactly what you see from the photos. Very friendly owner, they even provide small snacks with coffee/tea in the afternoon. It's this small yet appreciated things that amazed me. Room was clean and comfy. Nice Bath soaps are provided. It's located on the higher ground which mean you have to walk up slopes, not a problem for me, you have to earn your views! Taxi is provided for those staying 2 nights and above, if not, you can purchase taxi coupon from hotel at 15chf per trip. Advice for u is to book early.

Staff and owners/managers were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, good variety and eggs cooked to your liking if wanted Afternoon homemade cake and tea - amazing! Room was modern, clean, large and had an incredible view of the Matterhorn. Gowns and slippers provided for the wellness. Sauna/steam room was clean and modern The hotel is about 17 min walk from the centre however we really enjoyed the walk. It’s also up an incline but this gave us fantastic views over Zermatt. There is a heated ski room however we used the ski lockers at the top of Sunegga as we didn’t fancy the 7-10 min walk back uphill ( a good move!)

Nothing! Only thing to watch out is that you confirm which exit to the station the taxi will be waiting. There are two, we went out of the wrong one and ended up paying for a taxi as the driver persuaded us he was there to pick us up! (He wasn’t, our taxi was at the other exit!)

It was perfect and exactly how we imagined. Amazing views of the Matterhorn from the room and dining space. Great staff specially Martin, who managed the dinner for us on request. Don’t have the name but the morning breakfast cook was super nice and courteous. Absolutely loved the service. Breakfast spread was good too. Rooms were super cozy and big and best was the heated bathroom floor.

location is 300m away from the centre but it was worth it. Lodge arranged e-taxi to pick us up from the railway station. Location is breattaking! View from the room, from the balcony, from the bed are all amazing! Waking up with Matterhorn glowing red in rising sun... Sleeping in complete silence during the night. Spacious room with loft bedroom. Nice balcony. Friendly and engaging staff. Fantastic breakfast. Most of the furniture, decorations and woodwork were done by the owner, he designed unique chandeliers, beds, sofas and comfy chairs. This added to the unique good feel in the Lodge I had during our stay!

It was all good in Alpenlodge! Even without AC ( as everywhere in Switzerland) location provided cool shade and fresh air for most of the morning and after 6 PM.

Thank you so much Deborah, Martin and Natalie (hope I got the names correct) for welcoming me and helping with my questions and requests :) It was an excellent 5-night stay in such a nice family run lodge! Hopefully I will see you again. Martin's cooking for dinner was superb! The salami at the breakfast buffet was to die for and croissant was as crunchy as it should be. Very quiet room, got excellent sleep after hard hiking. Duly recommended for anyone visiting Zermatt!

Steep hike up a hill so that might be a consideration for day to day access (can use taxi, bike etc). The Zermatt prices are kinda insane comparing to anywhere else in the world, but I suppose looking at Matterhorn's beauty from the window compensates. Really nothing relevant to complain about!

First and foremost, the room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. But what truly took my breath away was the breathtaking view of the Matterhorn from my window. The sight of that iconic mountain in all its glory was something I will never forget. The breakfast at the hotel was beyond superb. There was an extensive spread of delicious options to choose from, the quality and freshness of the food were outstanding, and it was the perfect way to start each day of my stay. What made my stay even more special was the incredible all-female staff at the hotel (esp. Natalia). They were not only professional but also incredibly helpful and kind. T One standout feature that pleasantly surprised me was the hotel's offer of complimentary taxi service for guests staying more than two nights. This thoughtful gesture made my arrival and departure hassle-free and convenient.

None everything was perfect!

Debra and Martin gave us a warm welcome. We loved the personal attention to detail and their ability to answer all our questions. We highly recommend having dinner there -- the fondue, pasta and salad (fresh from the garden) was fresh and homemade. Also loved the steam room and zen space to relax after a long day of hiking. Our room with balcony and view of the Matterhorn exceeded our expectations and it was nice to have a bunch of extra pillows as well. Alpenlodge is a bit of a trek on foot from the train station and main town, but if you like being away from the touristy middle of town, as we do, it is well worth it!

There is nothing that could have been improved.

It is one of the excellent locations to view the sunrise of Matterhorn, which is just right in front of the lobby entrance or the rooms facing the Matterhorn. We can also have breakfast at the restaurant with a view of the Matterhorn. The room and the bathroom size are more than my expectations. The room provides bathrobes, slippers, a kettle, coffee/tea and one large bottle of drinking water. Last but not least, Martin has excellent service and was very patient in guiding our trip.

The location is a bit distance from the train station and requires walking up the hill/steep road towards the hotel. However, the hotel provided a one-way taxi pick-up from the train station to the hotel. The hotel provides a simple breakfast selection, mainly cereals, bread and yoghurt; however, we (Asian) might also like some hot foods to be served.
