My second time staying here. Close to tramway transport, Grand Bazaar and many shops and restaurants. Varied breakfast. Comfortable room. Lovely and helpful staff.

You’ll have to deal with walking up and down a hill to go anywhere. Wasn’t such a problem for me, but might be for others.

I like the close proximity of this hotel to all the tourist attraction and the public transportation options around. Many restaurants to chose from too. Safe and friendly neighborhoods.

Didn't like the room (is at the 1st floor) given because it was very near to the road and i can hear ppl walking and talking very loudly. Anyhow, it was fully booked and the staff was very nice enough to let us know we can exchange the room with additional top up. We chose not to.

Recital Hotel is very close to the major tourist attractions such as the Aya Sofya mosque, the blue Mosque, the Basilica cisterns and the Grand Bizaar. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the awesome breakfast every morning. Great variety. One of the best boutique hotel continental breakfasts I have had. The staff were exceptional and very helpful and super friendly. On our last day we had to leave early before breakfast was served and so Joseph prepared us a take away breakfast which was such a lovely touch. I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers to Istanbul.

The location of the hotel is excellent - in the very center, but at the same time a little away from the main city noise. This is not to say that you are in complete isolation, though: Istanbul wakes up early, the streets in the immediate vicinity of the hotel are filled with cars and motorcyclists, and the horns of impatient drivers cheerfully enliven the background. Many commentators have spoken about the excellent location, but I want to note that this is not its only advantage. The Recital Hotel gives the impression of a small, warm, cozy family business, where all the staff are interested in the convenience of the guests, carefully, kindly and unobtrusively providing comfort and coziness to their guests. I thank the entire hotel team, who were very attentive and offered their help in any situation. I will definitely choose this hotel on my next trip to Istanbul.

We absolutely loved this hotel, it felt like home from home. All the staff were super friendly from the moment we checked in (very late) to the end leaving which we were reluctant to do. Yesim introduced herself at our first breakfast and gave us a map and loads of advice of places to go. We had also prebooked supper enjoying an amazing view on the rooftop which unbeknown to us had just been refurbished and everyone truly pulled out the stops to make sure it was an evening to remember, with beautifully prepared meal. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts also deserve a mention; everything there you could wish for including Turkish coffee. Finally, the location was superb, just ten minutes to the main square, with a couple of authentic restaurants nearby if you didn't want to go far. We would happily come back and will be recommending it to all our friends.

We stayed there as a family (with two kids). The hotel was in a great location, 5 minute walk from Haggia Sofia and Blue mosque, Kapala bazaar, tram. The staff was very friendly and super helpful, also very efficient. They arranged taxy to pick us up from the airport. Very prompt communication via email and WhatsApp, I felt very at ease. Breakfast was wonderful, large selection of different food for every taste.

If I was really a clean freak than it could be dusted a little bit more under the beds and furniture, but other then that very happy with everything. We had clean towels every day, when asked they also changed our sheets again, so all in all very happy.

- the location is great, in walking range to "everything" - the room had great views. - one of the receptionists, Murat, is a good English conversation partner (you will learn to value this skill in Istanbul) and will happily answer to any questions, help in any matter, whip out a map and a pen to show you what you need, estimate costs and duration of various activities and so on. It definitely improves the overall "trust factor" of the hotel. - rooms are properly sound proofed from the outside noise - all communal areas are very clean and smell nice - the hotel is feeling more like 3* superior - especially for the Turkish standards - big comfy beds - functional heating - minibar prices were ok - nice amenities, including kettle, coffee and tea in the room - late night food, supermarket, sweets, drug store and hamam available in a 5-min walk range

- the breakfast could be improved. On a day, 1h before end everything was stale, pastry was old, no more eggs in any form. On another day at the start time everything was visibly more fresh and with more options available. This is not a tragedy though, you can just walk out of the hotel and get other cheaper fresh options. - the room was not thoroughly cleaned on check in (hair in the sink drain, a bit of mould on the bath tub corners) - the safe was not properly bolted to the closet and its door was finicky - no free electric outlets near the bed - one of the taxis we ordered via the reception overcharged us double the price (we noticed that when we came back on the same route using another cab ordered via BiTaksi app). I expect taxis ordered from reception to be with "clean drivers".

I chose this hotel on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews, especially for first time visit to Istanbul. The hotel is situated in a good location to the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia and Blue mosque. 3 minutes to Grand Bazaar and 7 to 8 minutes to the Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque. Very clean hotel, with restaurant and small gym also.The staff are friendly and very hospitable. A big thanks to Melike for making this stay amazing. Always helpful and ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Always has time for the guests at the hotel. Any issues and she sorted it out immediately. I have stayed in higher star hotels and have not so far received this good treatment. Would definitely recommend to other people. Hotel has a variety of breakfast options, selection of fruits, cheese, cereal, sliced meat, salads and bread. Tea, coffee and a machine foe latte, mocha and hot chocolate. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying I the Sultanahmet area.

Breakfast wasn't bad but maybe offering different hot food options, just a little repetitive. Had scrambled eggs, wedges and sausages most days.

We were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel. We were accommodated in one double room and one triple room. The rooms were clean and tidy. They also did the disinfection. Breakfast was delicious and varied. In the day of checking out we had to leave early before breakfast, we got breakfast packages to take on way. Beautiful view at the sea is from terrace on rooftop of the hotel. Above all, we appreciate the entire staff, their kind attitude, willingness to help. We thank everyone, namely the ladies from the reception and Yusuf.

Nothing what is concerned to the hotel.

This is a nice hotel in a great location. We had one of the few - and more expensive - rooms with views over the sea, which did make it very nice. Without that it would be a standard tourist hotel with a decent breakfast and nice staff.

Low water pressure meant either a weak shower or a bath that would take a very long time to fill. We arranged for the hotel to pick us up at the airport, which they subcontract to a third party. Appalling service at the airport and nearly an hour wait for our car.
