The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious in the evening and the breakfast. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Clean room and bathroom, well kitted out. Manager went to extra lengths to accommodate us and our 2 big dogs at meal times .

Only drawbacks were the noise and language at times from the locals in the bar who could clearly be heard in the games room and the restaurant. Also the smell of cannabis from them smoking outside was strong in our room at times!! The bed was very comfortable apart from the duvet not being big enough for the size of the bed?

True to its name, this is more of a country inn than a hotel. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and also suitable for a longer stay (if you know how to spend your time in the surroundings). It may not appear to be brand new, but it is generally well maintained and does not feel run down. The restaurant, contrary to what the website suggests, is relatively simple in terms of décor, but the food was found to be above the British country inn average. The vicinity to the Armadale-Mallaig ferry turned out to be very useful. Parking just beside the house, as you would expect at a country inn.

An old Inn in a picturesque location. Our room was large, with a separate seating area and a sea view. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet at night. There were charging points for mobiles etc by the bedside. A good selection of teas were provided. We had a decent good value dinner. The separate bar caters for locals who we enjoyed chatting with. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. The Inn is only a very short drive from the Mallaig ferry, but an hour or so away from Portree, the capital of Skye. Just a note for anyone disabled, there are stairs up to the rooms.

We weren't shown to our rooms and no offer was made to help carry suitcases etc. The furniture in the bedroom is a bit tired. Although the room was clean overall, there was cobweb hanging from a corner of the ceiling. A warmer greeting on arrival, a slightly more thorough clean, and some refurbishment would earn this place a 10.

Location was phenomenal, although a little out of the way at the South of the Island. The Ferry terminal was only three minutes away by car/motorcycle. The room was spacious with a fantastic sea view across to Mallaig. Food was excellent, and a special mention to George who was efficient and helpful, both with arrival, food and drink orders, and advanced information. Quite a few parking although most with a slight slope, there are a number of spaces on level ground if your riding a motorcycle as we were.

Power sockets could do with USB built in, and at this price point I would also expect the option of Prime/Netflix on a smart TV. There is no other way to say it, these rooms were expensive. In mitigation it was June on the Isle Of Skye, and historically prices have changed dramatically all over Skye due to demand, and with advent of increased tourism like the NC500. Locals frequent the bar so it can be a tad lively until last orders.

As we walked up the road from the ferry and saw the Inn ahead, it was like being in a fairytale(or a Rosamunde Pilcher novel for those who know her work!). We arrived early and were greeted with kindness by those who were busy in the kitchen, Rodney, and just completing cleaning, Dawn. Both made us feel welcome and we were given early access to our room. We later met Sandra and Claire who always had a smile and were most capable and kind. The staff in the restaurant included Josh who was helpful in selecting a good gin or whiskey selection. All in all, the staff were as lovely as the Inn and the idyllic setting overlooking a pristine field of sheep with the exquisite views beyond.

The rooms were very large and well equipped. The staff were excellent although very stretched. We had to leave the hotel before breakfast started but when the staff found out they quickly cooked us some pastries to take with us. The location overlooking the loch is really good.

The pillows were not very good quality although the bed was comfortable. The toilet in one of the rooms was not properly cleaned. The information on the booking.com pages states that the hotel is pet friendly but does not say that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, only the bar area. The hotel's website does clarify this but you'd have to check yourself. Fortunately the weather was really good so we sat outside - the bar was very busy.

We enjoyed our one night stay here. The Inn is beautiful and in a very scenic location ,the view from our room was stunning. It was pleasant and relaxing and furnished to our taste. It was within walking distance of the Skye ferry. The staff kindly allowed us to have an evening meal despite the fact they were closed to outsiders due to being very short staffed.Meal was ok but not mind blowing for price!

Staff were very over stretched. They did their absolute best ...but really they badly needed a couple of extra pairs of hands!

A warm welcome on arrival, a comfortable room with a great view out across the sea to mainland Scotland and a most enjoyable meal in the busy restaurant. The food was good, the wine and whisky weren't outrageously priced, the staff were all brilliant and I enjoyed the general atmosphere. It's handy for the ferry to and from Mallaig.

Maybe start breakfast at 7:00 rather than 7:30 during busy periods so as to allow a more relaxed start for the 8:10 ferry check-in

The property was well located, beautiful view of the Sound of Sleat and 3 minutes from the ferry crossing to Mallaig. The bedroom was spacious, very clean, queen size bed with good mattress, and the bathroom was immaculate and large. While a full breakfast was included, we had to leave early for the 8:15 am ferry, but there was a continental breakfast available or a choice of having sandwiches made. This was a very nice touch! There is a full bar and restaurant serving lunch and dinner. The menu was varied and the food very good.

I wish a full breakfast could have started earlier, taking into consideration the early ferry that several guests took. However, they did have a continental breakfast or sandwiches to take early morn8 g.

View from the hotel is fabulous and the location is great. My room was large, with a big, well equipped en suite bath room. The breakfast was excellent, didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Dinner was the same, really good, though compared to the seafood and meat options, the veggie choices were a wee bit uninspired. The staff were great. Though, I think the hotel should have two people on at breakfast as the one staff member serving, whilst cheery and helpful, looked pretty frazzled. Overall however, a great stay and would definitely go back again.

More veggie choices at dinner. More staff on at breakfast.
