The location of hotel is right in the centre of town, we had evening meal which was lovely and a good atmosphere in the bar. Our room was small but everything we needed for a one night stop over. It’s not The Ritz but it’s clean, cosy and comfortable. The hotel has lots of character and a buffet style continental breakfast which was perfect as it meant we could get on with our travels. Whilst there was no car park there was no shortage of parking close by and we managed to park very easily. We would definitely choose this hotel again for a stopover in Callander.

There was nothing I didn’t like, we wanted a clean comfortable bed for the night with a friendly reception and that’s what we got.

This hotel was a last minute selection and we weren't sure what to expect. On arrival, we were welcomed by staff and shown to a beautifully modernized room with a huge bed and lovely bedding. The room was ensuite, though it had just been described as being a "private bathroom." The staff made sure there was table in the bar for us should we wish to eat at the hotel. The menu had some interesting choices and the food was delicious and nicely presented. The staff in the bar were chatty and helpful as this was our first night in the area. Breakfast was included which we hadn't realized. It was a self service buffet but there was plenty of choice including provision for gluten free diets. We did not leave hungry.

There was no provision for car parking. We were lucky and found a spot right opposite the hotel. The tap in the bathroom was a minor irritation, in that the water pressure was so high, that it sprayed us sometimes rather than filled the basin.

Lovely bright spacious room. Very quiet. Excellent tea tray with plenty t-bags and milk etc, as well as chocolate biscuits. Also bottles of water provided. Room has everything you need. Hairdryer next to full length mirror which is great for getting ready, as a lot of rooms do not have a decent mirror. Continental breakfast was also provided with a good choice of items. Dinner at hotel was also excellent. Smaller meal options were available which was great and more than ample and very reasonably priced.

Very nice clean place. The rooms are nicely updated with a king size bed and nice bathroom. The only thing is that you can often hear other rooms TV, people talking etc. Especially if you're trying to go asleep early or have a lie in. It's not overly loud but I could hear it so my earplugs came in handy. It wouldn't put me off staying there again by any means. The staff that work there are very nice and helpful. Their restaurant has a good variety of food on the menu and I found it tasty and good value

Example of a small hotel very friendly and helpful staff, had been before for a night out in callander but first time we have stayed.Had dinner in hotel and have to say it was perfect pub grub ,big plates or smaller if you wanted . Have to give a special mention to the staff member Rebecca who served us that night, between waiting tables and serving behind the bar in what was a fairly busy bar for a Monday night she carried it off with a smile,take a bow Rebecca 🙇‍♀️. Definitely be back.

The weather

This is a great little hotel. We stay each year on our bike trips to Scotland. The rooms are small- we had twin rooms, but are clean and comfortable with modern bathrooms and good showers. The bar is very friendly and you can eat in the bar and the meals are very nice. We could book a table on our arrival for 9 people, which is pretty useful. The value for money is excellent- we only paid 75 pounds for a twin room. There is no cooked breakfast, but you can make your own toast and choose from cereals, yogurts and flapjack bars and muffins ! Lovely !. The serve youself breakfast is included in the price too !

We aren’t normally too bothered about breakfast but were able to take a few items from the continental selection for consumption later on our walks. The room was perfectly adequate for our needs and getting the king size bed was a bonus. We enjoyed the dinners at night- freshly cooked and served promptly and cheerfully!

I think the only issue we had was when they ran out of a couple of spirit based drinks at the bar.

My bed was very comfortable and my room and bathroom were a good size and clean.

On the Saturday night the live music went on in the bar until nearly 1 o’clock in the morning - it was so loud that I couldn’t sleep. The music was supposed to finish around 11pm, so far as I was aware, as the last exact went on stage at 9pm. In the late afternoon on the Saturday the beer garden was very noisy with screaming children and it was very audible in my room, despite the windows being shut. That was just unfortunate, but it was a fact.

What a gem of a place. Clean and comfortable with great bar food and an excellent choice of drinks behind the bar. Hadn’t realised that the continental breakfast was included with the room cost. Pleasant surprise. We were a group of disabled sailors and the staff could not have been more helpful. Every single one of them were eager to help and always with a smile. I can not rate this hotel more. Fantastic place.

Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Our room had plenty of tea and coffee making facilities - not the usual - just enough for 2 cups! We even had some biscuits! Bathroom had toiletries and plenty of clean towels and water was lovely and hot. Staff were lovely, very accommodating and couldn't do enough for us - what a pleasant change! Excellent value for money!
