This is a really nice place to stay in a beautiful small town on the coast. Family run and busy with a comfortable bar and restaurant where you can get decent food most of the day. Our room was good with very comfortable beds and an en suite shower room. Breakfast in the morning was substantial - we had the full Scottish to fuel us through a day of cycling but there are lighter options. The staff who we met were friendly and helpful. The place is well run . We would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay

Only one smallish quibble: our room was over part of the hotel where there was some kind of machinery humming all night - possibly cooling equipment? Funnily enough it was less noisy in the en suite so it's probably not apparent in other rooms. We slept (beds great) but occasionally woke to the hum

Property centrally located with town centre, beach and golf club all within walking distance. The 2 main streets have a lovely variety of shops to browse in. There is no dedicated car park but we found parking on the main street in front of the hotel very easy. The checking was quick and easy and the staff very welcoming. The room was a good size and very comfortable. There is a good bar/ restaurant where we were able to book a table for dinner where you had all the usual pub grub options. Breakfast is served in a separate breakfast area and was again very good.

We were in a room above the bar so could hear the noise from it however this did not go on for very long and we otherwise had a very peaceful sleep!

Excellent breakfast, great location, friendly staff, worked very well for our needs as a large wedding party contingent. Food in bar excellent. Not as ‘posh’ as I expected - more rooms above pub than a country inn, but turned out perfect for our needs and would return if travelling through again!

Electric shower fine - not as powerful as normal showers, but not really a complaint! Stairs a bit tricky with luggage and a disabled hubby! Can’t be helped - constraints of building- so again not a complaint!

We stayed 4 nights at the Eagle Hotel for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. There are not enough words to describe our stay. Eric, Suzie, and their team were truly amazing. Nothing was too much. The breakfast was 10/10, the evening meals were also 10/10. They kindly upgraded our room and it was fantastic. The whole time we were there was just brilliant! We WILL definitely go again. Our daughter loved our pictures so much that she has chosen to stay at The Eagle for part of her honeymoon!

Great location great staff very knowledgeable about Malt Whisky. Well run and well organised.

I felt that the food I had was poor. I had a Chicken burger with the trimmings it came but it was very tough. Salad was also poor. Im not the kind of person that sends things back so I just gave up with it and went elsewhere. I didnt want to take any further chances or upset anyone so I just paid and left. I think and I MAY BE WRONG but it was like it was cooked from frozen but maybe too quickly.. not sure… Other than that it is a great place to stay. Staff are wonderful and bery helpfull.

Great location - a group of us attended a family wedding at Dornoch cathedral so we had 5 rooms booked. Staff were so friendly and helpful during our stay. Ours was a lovely family room great size, clean and comfortable, and a travel cot was provided for my toddler. Food in the pub was excellent too. Had perfect weather for sitting out on the front for drinks in the evening. Would definitely recommend.

Great atmosphere. Busy Friday night bar used by locals. Friendly and efficient staff. Rooms recently refurbished, bathrooms fresh and spotlessly clean. Good value for money that suited our budget and requirements. Would stay at the Eagle again, if we return to the lovely town of Dornoch.

No off street parking, but it didn't matter as there were places to park near by. No fruit or yogurt offered for breakfast.

Lovely room above the Pub which is centrally located, nicely decorated and a comfortable bed. Staff and their customers are friendly and welcoming, good meals are available and a delicious breakfast was included.

Only point which is common, no bar fridge in room however I was allowed to store some cheese in the breakfast room fridge, thanks!

Great room, facilities were fab! Big bath towels were amazing, so often you stay at hotel and get small towels! Breakfast was lovely, great choice, staff couldn’t be more helpful, nothing was a problem.

We stayed in room 4 above the bat restaurant which was noisy till closing time then cleaning at 7am with the hoover. It wouldn’t change my opinion that the hotel was amazing and I’d stay again

Good location on the main street, room was simple and met our needs, it was good value for what we paid, especially as breakfast was included.

Its a basic hotel and the price is fair. Quite a lot of noise transfer between rooms, the room wasn't super clean, the shower was very weak. But overall a good stay.
