Absolutely amazing dinner in the restaurant worth staying just for this. Who would have guessed food of this quality in such an unassuming location. We were looking for a mid way point to break our journey and we chose the Auldgirth Inn on location and the fact we could eat dinner there. We had no idea how good the food was going to be! A lovely big bathroom although dated. Good breakfast included. Good value for money.
The room was compact and the way it was laid out there was no bedside table on my side! But $ per Square meter still very cheap! We found the mattress too firm, this sounds picky but that is the one thing you want to be comfortable in a hotel room.

We had a very nice stay at the Auldgirth Inn! Were welcomed kindly! Restaurant was exceptionally closed but got help to have diner which we very much appreciated. The rooms are spacious and well equiped. Very comfy beds and also the bathrooms are equiped as needed! Breakfast made to order and very tasty! For sure a lovely place to stay. Would certainly come back!

Room was modern and comfortable, full modern private bathroom (drawback it was not within room) but considering it is a 400 year old building the inconvenience we overlooked. Morning - front of house staff (apology didn't get his name) was excellent and friendly. Night staff young and very professional. Open kitchen and could see everything went smoothly. Food fine dining and chef/owner very passionate but food definitely deserves high praise.
Seating in restaurant, 3 lovely tables but tables for 2 felt were small in comparison. Menu fabulous but I found it challenging due to medical condition. However can state Halibut and chicken were winners for me.

Loved?............everything to be honest. It just had a very relaxed vibe about the whole place. Owner Rab & colleagues where very welcoming and showed interest in their guests and made you feel at ease. The rooms were very tastefully done and ample room with all the functions of a good room & bathroom to a high standard. Service was excellent from start to finish and very friendly Next level............The dining experience! We stayed half board and what a delight. The restaurant for both evening meal & breakfast was to the highest standard.............fine dining but with good quality produce & healthy portions. Presentation of food met the quality of the chef's work. We WILL be back and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thanks Auldgirth Inn 👌
NOTHING! There is just nothing we didnt like sorry, no negatives

The staff were excellent, every staff member we dealt with were very friendly and did their best to meet our needs. I have a total distain for butter, milk & cream, when these were highlighted the chef took time out from a busy kitchen to have a chat about the menu. For a fussy eater like me, the food at Auldgirth Inn is exceptional!! On our first night we both had the tasting menu and accompanying wine flight. The tasting menu was amazing, it put the "fine" into fine dining and the wine went superbly with each course. The jus that accompanied the venison was unbelievable, it was packed full of flavour. On the second night we opted for fillet steaks as our main and they did not disappoint. Each steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare and well done (who has a fillet steak well done!!!! my Mrs)) The team at Auldgirth Inn are hard working and it's very clear they want you to enjoy your dining experience and they do everything possible to deliver this. Go, you wont be disappointed, guaranteed!
I honestly can not think of anything. The room was clean and fresh looking. It had a good size, comfortable bed and the bathroom was modern and clean. I did manage to think of one thing. This is me being hyper critical and looking for any fault; something to sit your bag or case on. You don't need wardrobes for an overnight stay and most people would leave there belongings in the case. A case stand would have been better than laying the case on the floor.

The food was great and the location en route north
The door frame of the bathroom was broken and. Had to ask about its repair rather than be told. No attempt had been made to repair it. I thought I had stipulated two twin beds but got a king size. The room was very hot at night.
