I went to bed at about 11.30pm, but I could hear the television and 2 ladies talking in the adjacent room. Although it wasn't all that late, I didn't want to risk this going late into the early hours, as I had to be up early in the morning. So I got dressed and went down to reception, the lady there was very helpful, and offered me a room in a different part of the hotel, which was perfect, and I had a good sleep.

I went down for breakfast, but I only had about 30 mins, so I asked one of the waitresses how long it would take for any hot food order, she said that they're very busy, but she could make me a cheese/ham baguette, which I could take away, this sounded perfect. So I sat there for about 30 mins without any food, I asked the waitress a few times during this period if it was nearly ready, but was just told that it was on its way. After 30 minutes, I asked someone else that I knew in the restaurant if they could bring me the baguette when it eventually came out, . When my friend brought it to me a few hours later, it wasn't even prepared, it was just bread, a piece of cheese and a slice of ham, the bread wasn't even cut.

Can't fault this hotel we love everything about here me and my partner have been living here for 5 weeks now and absolutely amazing service and staff during our stay we were kept updated about things and if any changes we would be notified and we had just that. During our stay we had a broken bathroom window which didn't shut properly so I reported the job with a lovely polite receptionist named Ruby and within 24 hours the handles to both the bathroom toilet windows were both repaired and changed over by Mantinance operative elvis. Whenever during my stay if in need of anything extra for my room or need anything done to my room always to hand is the wonderful polite smily staff on Reception during the day Natalie, jenny, steph,Gareth and Ruby and at night the lovely night porter named Jerry so always someone on hand 24 7 if you need help with anything absolutely fantastic hotel can't fault 1 thing about this place love it here top hotel definitely 10/10.

The staff were ALL incredible and kind and polite and went over and above. My dog had a small seizure in the room when we had breakfast and had an accident I was beside myself upset and embarrassed the receptionist and room cleaner were so kind and forgiving and warm and reassuring it was incredible. We had problems with getting there in storm Darragh from IoW with ferries and receptionists were.so helpful and staff extended our stay staying patient whilst we communicated with ferry companies. The decor whilst dated was very clean!

Hard to find the entrance. Breakfast was hot and fresh but limited options. Eg I had black coffee as no oat milk available and advised the staff the only foods I could tolerate on the menu was bacon and tomato and was given 1 x slice bacon and 2 halves tomato. In spite of giving lots of advanced warning re my food intolerances. Also stayed in a storm and was seated adjacent to door and had to keep getting up and shutting door a task shared with another table and the wind kept blowing the door open it refused to stay shut and we sat in a very big draft.

The location was across Prince Arthur Road from the Royal Engineers Museum, and not far (walkable distance) from the Chatham Historic Navy Dockyard (recommended). Very well priced, and the English breakfasts are including in the room rate. I loved the fish tanks everywhere, which are well maintained. There are too enclosed courtyards, and a well stocked bar. The staff at the Reception Desk were always helpful with directions.

Everything went well and I stayed two extra days after the weekend. The building has an interesting history and was built in 1948 as a military recreational club. Two Canadians rescued the building in 1967 after it was neglected for five years. Let's hear it for Canadian heritage minded entrepreneurs.

My room on the first floor was basic but comfortable and warm. There was a kettle with tea and coffee. The small wall-mounted television was okay. The bathroom was functional and clean and had complimentary shower gel/hand wash. The towels were soft. The staff on reception were helpful and friendly and acknowledged my previous stay. The food served in the bar and restaurant in the evening was of good qualify and value. The staff were very helpful and the room service menu was available until 10.30pm. There was waitress service for your cooked breakfast, which was very tasty. There was also self-service tea, coffee, plain yogurt, fresh fruit salad and a selection of cereals and juices.

There seemed to be no visible croissants or pastries on offer at breakfast, just toast. The fresh fruit salad seemed to consist mainly of chopped apples with the occasional grape or even rarer piece of melon.

Very friendly staff.....two chairs in our room, thanks for that....good sized bathroom and bedroom...nice big car park., diner was nice and a good portion served.

There was a spring in the mattress digging into my leg some of the night....toilet paper was overfilled so just kept shredding when trying to pull it out of the holder....eggs at breakfast were overdone , so they didn't have runny yolks, I didn't mind but my partner did.....bar didn't open til 3 on a Saturday afternoon or 5 the rest of the week, on a very hot day or a wet one where you can't do much else, it was a little annoying for my partner no to be able to sit in the bar for a drink .

Initially was sceptical about the hotel as from the outside it isn’t particularly pretty or inviting.. however as soon as we got inside we soon changed our opinion. The staff were amazing, especially the waiting staff in the restaurant. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and everything works, and are also a great size. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the dining experience was perfect due to the great level of service and extremely friendly and approachable staff. Would definitely stay again, without a doubt!

We have a child with a milk allergy and at breakfast he was very limited because there was no alternative to dairy butter for toast or cows milk for breakfast cereal. There’s also “strictly no smoking” signs before the first outdoor area yet there’s ash trays on every table and lots of people smoking, which for sitting with young children isn’t great.

On arrival we were greeted by Gareth at reception who was friendly, helpful and efficient. There were a good few people in the bar area, and there was a good, friendly vibe about the place. Someone had mentioned in the reviews that the hallways were dreary, but they must have been repainted, as they were clean and bright. Overall, we really liked the feel of this hotel.

As a few have said, the rooms although clean are a little run down. They could definitely do with a referb, but to us, as long as a room is clean we're happy. The hotel is huge, and it took us a while to find our room due to the signage being a little confusing.
