November 2024

The Duke of Leinster Hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations (3nts - 5th/8th Nov 2024). The location is idea with easy walking access to Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace and the main Museums (Natural History, Science & the Victoria & Albert). The hotel is easily accessed by tube at either Queensway (Central line) or Bayswater (Circle or District Lines) Underground Stations (both of which are around a 10 minute walk). We were warmly welcomed on arrival and able to leave our suitcases secure until it was time to check in (2pm). We were allocated room 103 which is in the sub-basement adjacent to the Breakfast room. The room itself was not very big but the bed was comfortable, there were tea/coffee facilities in the room and the en-suite bathroom was well appointed. Everything was very clean and we were extremely surprised and pleased to receive fresh hand and bath towels each day. As we look at any as simply a place to sleep we do not place any store on the size of the room - as long as it's clean (and this one certainly was) we are happy. There is a little noise from the breakfast room as early risers take breakfast but as we were in London to see as much as possible we we also up and about quite early. The local area has a variety of shops such as: a general convenience store (open 24hrs); a Greek restaurant; the Leinster Arms is the local Pub (very good food served to 10pm); Café/Wine Bar. For anyone wishing to use the hop-on/hop-off tourist bus services, they can be boarded on Bayswater Road outside the Thistle Kensington Gardens Hotel which is 5mins walk from the Duke of Leinster Hotel (you can identify the bus stop as there is usually a member of the bus company waiting to greet you, but in case no-one is there, it is the bus stop immediately in front of the petrol station. I can thoroughly recommend the Duke of Leinster Hotel and its staff. We will certainly be back in 2025.

The room was clean and comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful. The reception staff were friendly and the kitchen/Breakfast staff were a credit to you. There was a good selection of continental breakfast of a good standard. The underground is only a short walk away and there are some local shops and a pub.

The room was in the basement and the window was frosted with very little daylight. It was ok for a two night break, but would have wanted something better if staying any longer. The room wasn't tiny, but coupled with the lack of natural light could be claustrophobic. We were under the stairs and were subject to the noise and footsteps of people using them at any time. There was a lot of noise during the first night not sure if it was a boiler room or maybe something external.

My daughter and I were assigned a family room (405) with a double and 2 single beds so there was plenty of room for us. Our room was away from the lift, reception and kitchen/breakfast room so no noise complaints. The rooms was well equipped with a dining table, tea/coffee station, fridge and toiletries in the shower room. It was a nice touch for the portable air con units to be running prior to check in so the rooms was at a very comfortable temperature. I was expecting a continental breakfast so it was a welcome surprise to be able to have eggs, beans, turkey bacon and little chicken hot dogs with my toast. I was also appreciative to be able to leave our luggage with reception before check in and after check out and very kind of the staff to print a copy of our boarding passes, which I was having trouble downloading on to my mobile.

The lift is very small, max 4 persons capacity but comfortably would fit 2 and a little one. There is small set of steps to the main entrance so it might not be suitable for a guest with limited mobility.

i liked the facade, the inside was cute as well as the little hotel rooms. It was cozy and well furnished. the bathroom ass clean and modern. the food was good, the staff was really friendly.

the only thing was maybe the small breakfast room, it was often the case that some of the people had to wait or go back because the tables were all full. the breakfast menu could also have been bigger, but its not a must.

The location was perfect, two minutes walk from Hyde Park, so a great base from which to explore London. The hotel was very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable with sufficient heating in the room to keep out the cold night air in December. Special mention to the staff, especially those who worked the breakfast room (very hard working and efficient), who together made this a wonderfully enjoyable stay. Will definitely return, great hotel at great value.

Can't think of anything, honestly.

It's a very good place for short stays. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wifi is super fast and easy to connect. Breakfast is average but service is super fast and good. Rooms are cleaned and towels are replaced every day. Bathroom is very clean. It's very close to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. Also very close to Kensington Gardens and 10/15 min walk to Paddington station. I especially liked the staff, very friendly and fast at everything you need.

The room we stayed was very small.

Great location behind Hyde Park! You can park your car at night on the street and during the day you need to pay in an App limited to 4 hours! It was great for travelers with not much time. Underground stations nearby. The hotel workers were just amazing, they were patient and attentive helping with everything we needed! Breakfast was great with a lot of options!

Staff in breakfast room and reception were really lovely. However i was staying alone but their attitude felt me im at home. Room was also clean. Breakfast was also enough with various alternatives.

The only negative thing was my rooms location which was in -1. And so noisy because of other room peoples behaviour.

Location was great, 10 minute walk to multiple tube stations, staff were very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was nice, our room was clean and was great for our city break in London.

Only one note, in our room there was no handle on the shower. You have to reach over and push the door from the outside to get out so this is difficult for anyone that wouldn’t be able to reach this or have limited mobility.
