I've a real soft spot for Ibis hotels - the no-grout bathroom saves you the worry of seeing mould, I always know what to expect decor-wise and it's truly highly satisfying for a weary traveller. I liked the wide bed, the hair dryer, the bathrobe, the coffee/tea-making facilities in my room. There was a sweet touch of a cookie waiting for me too. The location was perfect for my purpose, getting to and from the city centre is pretty convenient with the nearby DLR station. The staff were agreeable, especially Tom who provided excellently swift service, thank you! Definitely coming back.

the overhang over my 8th floor window - keeping the light away and making the room a bit gloomy

For the center of London, and being on the top floor, the view was exceptional. Roon was quiet, cool, clean and well presented. Staff were friendly. Midday checkout was good so I could sleep late. View of the Docklands was incredible.

I thought I'd booked the breakfast but was told I hadn't. Wasn't in a position to argue or make a fuss so sacrificed the £10 I had paid extra on Booking.com. Being super critical, The "pod container" bathroom kept creaking during the night. Also it catches you off guard having to step up. Also having to reattach the window safety strap as when I opened it it fell out so my window swung open. Great for views.

Room was a good size, with a nice view and very convenient for the excel centre. Staff were friendly. Room and hotel in well kept and clean condition. Good facilities in room (coffee machine etc) although coffee machine did leak some water at one point despite not being used

Air con system did not work so window had to be left open all night. Tv was difficult to use (turned on audio description by itself and we could not figure out how to turn it off). I was told prior to our stay that breakfast was included in our booking, only to be told on arrival that this was not the case - staff member did apologise for the mix up but it was still disappointing

Near to Excel, fairly spacious and clean room. The bar had closed for food when we arrived back from Excel at 9pm (which seemed a little strange as it was next door to Excel and the show didn’t finish until 9 and other local bars had also stopped serving food) but the reception staff took us through to the bar in the Novotel next door, which was kind.

The pull out bed was small and wasn’t too comfortable. There was a lack of tea (although they were happy to provide at reception)). It was the coldest day/ night of the year but the room was cold and the quilts were thin.

Location near ExCel (even though I don't like ExCel anymore), parking spot is nice enough if timing it right, staff is friendly and willing to help. If you choose go to anything in ExCel then it's perfect to choose this hotel.

Price is high but it's ok as it's so convenient. But as I mentioned I don't like ExCel anymore, sounds make no sense to say it here, but I got one ExCel Health and Security adviser told me they own the whole place, that had me and my robot out of the island(not just event) because I didn't ask his permission be in ExCel Comic con a month ahead, even I had been checked by security countless time for 1.5 day, no one else being asked the same. I don't know if it's true it's included the hotel, the guy dodge the question 'whole island till the cablecar', so I won't choose near this island and hotel after what that ExCel guy told me, and had security escorted me out. It's bit out of the topic, so feel free to remove this.

The location was amazing for what we needed as we was visiting the excel, easy to get to via the tube and was clean. Hotel kept our luggage for us when we arrived before check in and also when we checked out but wasn't ready to go to our train yet.

The stairs need to be marked clearer, usually places have stairs and lifts it is for those that don't like lifts to get to their rooms, naturally when we saw stairs nearer our room on the second floor than the lifts we thought we'd just go down them but ended up in what looked like a staff only section with a broken cabinet and some chairs at the bottom. It was like something out of a horror film and took us a while to find the public area again. Would be an idea to label the stairs so its clearer that they wont take you to the reception area.

Fantastic location for Excel, however for me it was the Staff who made the stay exceptional, they were all Amazing! So helpful, genuinely cheery, from the staff on the front desk, the people behind the bar, the staff at breakfast and even the cleaners. You can tell when people genuinely enjoy their jobs and working together! Even when we walked in 1 evening carrying a 6ft by 4ft rigid poster we all just laughed about the logistics of getting it home and they helped us get it to our room, like I say great staff, thank you!

Having stayed at Ibis hotels in the past I know this is not just this one, but please, upper management, invest in better mattresses for the twin rooms! It is like sleeping on the floor, in fact with the plush carpets the floor may have been a softer option! I slept on top of the quilt in a vein attempt to get a little more padding! Seriously though please take note of this Ibis management, especially for guests staying more than 1 night. Would have been the easiest 10 I have ever given on a review if it were not for the beds!

All members of staff made us welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. A problem with our room was resolved quickly with no irritation or hesitation.. The hotel was clean as was our room. The location was very near.the Excel Arena and Custom house station. We would definitely use this hotel again.

For some reason the key cards for the rooms were not working. The staff resolved this problem by accompanying us up to our room no matter how many times this was needed This was done with good humour and patience by the lovely young man on reception.

The location. Close to restaurants, train station and our venue. Hotel was also very quiet despite being in a busy area.

TV, hairdryer, kettle, and air-conditioning didn't work. We raised the TV issue and were told it's due to a previous power cut and was in the process of being resolved. We asked for a new kettle, we were told one was being brought up. A man appeared at our door to repair the kettle. He then took the kettle away and we never saw him or the kettle again. Gave up by the time we realised the hairdryer was bust.

Clean and comfortable, we were given a free complimentary drink as we were chosen to be guests of the day. Iron, ironing board and hair dryer ready to use in room, shower gel and shampoo also provided. Nice view over the river and could see the O2. Location was great, transport on the doorstep to get into the centre in just a few stops. We also took the cable cart over the Thames River to the O2 - this was a nice touch to our trip, we had travelled from Wales to see Nicki Minaj perform live at the O2. Free tea and coffee facilities also available in the room, and the complimentary cookies were a lovely touch. AC in room also was a life saver! Great hotel would definitely recommend it to friends and family, especially when viewing concerts in O2

Automatic doors should be open all night; very heavy door to try to push open when electrics are not active.
