The Rosewood is ‘grand’ in the sense it is an imposing property with some fine public spaces. If it truly is a ‘grande dame’ of hotel properties the ‘dame’ is question is tired and in serious need of a good re-vamp and rejuvenation. The rooms (and especially the bathrooms) need a re-think and a lot of investment before the promise can match the delivery.

Our room was tired and in need of a serious amount of work to bring it up to ‘five star standard’.

The location was very good. Staff were professional and they guide you well. Breakfast has lots of variety choices as well as classic English breakfast that you should try. There is a good traditional bar that you should really see even if you wont drink something to have atmosphere. Rooms were very clean, condition was very good and you have type of options on technologic basis as well. I request from them for ironing service and they arranged in a same day which was absolutely fast. I am visiting London regularly and I should say this is the most precious stay that I had experienced so far. Thank you for this kind hospitality!

The Rosewood was situated in a great location close to Covent Garden. We had a family room which provided ample space for 4 people. It was serviced daily and the standard of service is what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. We had breakfast included in the Holborn Dining room which was excellent. Service from Tiffany, Tudor and Milana were stand outs. Overall the staff were very helpful and attentive.

The first room we were allocated had a shower over a bath which was too high to climb into. Photos on website did not reflect this. We asked to change rooms to a standing shower.

Excellent location for sights, for walking, or for talking the tube. Incredibly attentive and thoughtful housekeeping - when we came back to our room we found a few little surprises that show real attention to detail - they left two small teddy bears for our children, put a bookmark in my book, left a small cloth for wiping the screen of our iPad among other things. Also reception staff (particularly Regina) made us feel at home. Super comfortable bed too!

At some point we asked the concierge to cancel a dinner reservation we had made, and they pointed out the cancellation policy without even trying to speak to them as it would “jeopardize their relationship”. We called the restaurant ourselves and canceled without any issues.

The staff is so professional and very welcoming and eager to help at anyway. They are fast and applying care for me and my kids. For example: I asked for a barber near me and the concierge walked with me to the barber outside the hotel and introduced me to the barber!

Breakfast in the morning, staff was a bit harsh and need to improve their spirit. Their work is great but they seem to be not enjoying what they do.

The ambience of this hotel is calm and sophisticated. The lighting, decor, artefacts and flower displays provide interest and comfort. Staff are professional and efficient and they show an interest in every client. The use of individual names is consistently applied and is welcomed. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with art work which enhances the space, and lends a great mix of the traditional and contemporary. Service is both proactive and responsive and means we didn’t want to leave.

Pillows are fluffy and luxurious but we really benefitted from requesting a memory foam neck pillow - maybe these could be highlighted as available.

A splendid hotel, with all the charm of a grand establishment. The location is excellent, just far enough from the hustle and bustle but within walking distance of the main attractions. The building is impressive, with a delightful inner courtyard. Three excellent on-site restaurants complete the offering. Exceptional attention to detail, as a five-star hotel should provide. The entire staff was courteous, friendly, and attentive in seeking to offer solutions.

Actually, nothing to complain about

Stunning architecture, great location, well-appointed very comfortable accommodation, outstanding house-keeping with attention to detail, the food offerings were superb (Holborn dining room and Art afternoon tea).

Concierge service was absolutely useless (took 20-min to bring our luggage down from the room at checkout and no apology forthcoming from rude concierge staff). Addition of 5% service charge per night to the already high accommodation rate with no explanation, justification or request - sorry, but this is completely unacceptable.

Linens, room size, amenities were all lovely. Room service personnel were amazing. All lobby staff were friendly and welcoming.

Maid did not clean room for two days, after calling housekeeping, a maid did come up and took our tip but only wrapped a cord around a blow drier (not necessary) while failing to empty trash or to do the one thing we wrote her a note about. We really wanted replenishment of coffee and towels - that didn't happen until the third day, when we called housekeeping again and this time, they responded instantly with a fix (although it would have been nice to resolve it earlier and not have housekeeping in the room as as the same time we were trying to relax).
