The staff here are excellent, as are the facilities. We have stayed twice in the past couple of months and are already looking to book our next stay. The staff go above and beyond, from the ones in reception, in the leisure club and in the bar/restaurant area. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. During one of our stays, it was my boyfriends 30th and the staff offered to decorate the room for me (with my own decorations) To keep the surprise going. It's the little things that mean a lot. The leisure facilities are amazing, and are kept clean. We used the steam room, sauna, salt room, hydrotherapy pool and jacuzzi during both of our stays and both times we found it to be peaceful, clean & relaxing. We have stayed in rooms 208 & 210, both King size rooms with plenty of room, great facilities and a really comfy bed. Thank you to all at Waterside, and we shall be seeing you again soon!

Breakfast was very good. I like having a buffet that I can help myself to. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The leisure facilities were excellent, with the biggest pool I have experienced in a hotel and the gym equipment looked more than adequate to induce premature cardiac arrect (I declined to test it). The location is good with ready access to the motorway and train or bus access to Manchester.

There was a complete lack of information about the hotel actually in the room. Apparently information is available on-line, but as I choose not to use a smartphone it was not accessible to me. My only other "complaint" is that the car park is very busy with customers for the Fitness Centre, but there is no special area for hotel guests close to reception which can mean a long hike with your bags. However this is not unusual in my experience and it didn' t spoil my stay.

The staff were friendly & helpful, the facilities were great and accessible. We had an evening meal that was really nice and breakfast had a good selection, including gluten free as an option. Very busy place with a lovely atmosphere.

The room we had was tiny, although I was aware it was a small double at booking, I didn't expect the room to be so small. I couldn't get passed the heater to get into bed for fear of being burned so, had to climb over to get in. The bed was too hard for me but my husband found it ok, and the mirrors are too far away from the sockets to be usable. The rooms could also benefit from garment hooks, there wasn't anywhere to hang coats or outdoor clothing other than in the wardrobe but then there was no room for clothes.

the bedroom was wonderful especially the bathroom it was lovely cosy and very relaxing and the leisure facilities were excellent but the hydro suite really helped my physical pain and disabilities have been going though it recently and really did need this break to help me recharge and cope the staff were mostly really really lovely especially one young receptionist she was absolutely lovely during our stay!! the people doing breakfast they were absolutely lovely friendly approachable and really genuinely nice people as well as a few at the staff at the coffee shop all in all I would quite happily stay here again and again and again despite the rough start which was made worse because of my emotional state but once we got into the room everything else didn't matter and I felt completely at home I'm very much looked after it was a beautiful stay and I highly recommend it, I'd like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome and supported during my stay they're really awesome fabulous people who work at this place anion extremely grateful 💝🙏

check in and waiting to be able to go to our room took exceptionally long time due to the room not being ready i was a bit emotional due to life events so. really didn't need the extra stress and felt rather awkward sat there for hours did get a free coffee at the end. early on I was asked if we wanted to have a change of room to be checked in and get to our room quicker I could have changed rooms but I really didn't want to and especially wanted this particular room as I really did need a home from home with certain things I had requested during booking what does put me off booking again? ABSOLUTELY NOT I WOULD BE BACK IN A FLASH EVEN IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN 😁

No issue finding the hotel near the motorway and large sign from the A roads so you cant miss the location. Plenty of parking and cameras around the hotel and security card from the hotel reception to your room. Reception staff very helpful and made the process stress free, explained the situation for the pool and gym us. Busy reception area but the staff worked well to make everything go smoothly. Cafe lounge is very well decorated with local photos of the Manchester area. Breakfast was well managed and plenty of choice, the omelette was specially nice. Coffee brand is a locally sourced which is a nice touch. Gym and pool is a bit of a rabbit hall but once you get your bearings its easy to follow, plenty of signs informing you of the steps or wet areas. Pool was well managed with children classes in the shallow end and three lanes open for adults. clean and well maintained and pool staff in view and polite when walking past. Hydro pool area is clean and music was relaxing without being over powering. Gym itself is clean and well equipped without being over crowded. Regarding the room the bathroom was well maintained, clean and a good size, the view from the room was nice over looking the river, no issues with noise could see the air condition units but the double glazing didn't make this an issue. Black out curtains worked well so did the lights next to the bed. Unfortunately they was some kind of trouble regarding "smoking" in there rooms. Management took the decision to evict clients. I spoke to reception and the security guard and they where polity and made the issue not an issue. I like the management style and dealing with the matter and not just turning a blind eye. well done...

Unfortunately the "king suit" was slightly on the small side and the size of the TV to the room could have been bigger. More coat hooks would be beneficial due to no wardrobe, (if they was a wardrobe it would make the room even smaller). Only one chair in the room, and would off been nice to have the local coffee brand.

Room was lovely and Hotel was nearby APH car parking for airport which was ideal. Bed was comfy, room was clean with iron, and hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom. Spa facilities were an added bonus which we took advantage of but we missed out on breakfast due to an early morning flight.

Room was on the small side didn’t bother us as this was only a stay over due to an early Morning flight. No one on reception when we left at 4:00am to hand keys back so we had to leave these on the desk. Not really an issue but would have thought there was night shift staff.

Friendly staff Good pool and gym facilties Lots of free parking Nice breakfast

Twin room was rather small Shower was a huge overhead shower head very near shower door with minimum space to wash No method to shower without having water directly ontop of your head This was useless having to wash hair EVERY time we showered. The shower leaked.Lighting in the bathroom poor to use over sink mirror No plug near large bedroom mirror to enable to do hair! Unfortunately smokers outside all through the night ment room stunk of smoke That was a shame but it did disturb sleep couldn't breathe with it on my chest all the time.

From first walking through the door the staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was small (small double) but perfectly adequate with chest of drawers, wardrobe, hairdryer, iron and board, TV, kettle with tea/coffee/biscuits, and immaculately clean. The bathroom seemed as if it had been fairly recently refitted, with good quality fixtures and large fluffy towels. The rooms and corridors looked as if they had been recently redecorated. The Gym and thermal suite facilities were far superior to those in most hotels with large cardio space, separate resistance room and a smaller ladies only gym, plus sauna, steam rooms, poolside jacuzzi, spa pool and swimming pool. The changing rooms were large with plenty of free lockers, and also very clean. The bar staff were as friendly and helpful as everyone else, and if the bar / restaurant / coffee shop area lacks a bit of atmosphere and seems more like an afterthought, then at least the food and drinks were good!

I'm unsure if the temperature control in the room is supposed to offer airconditioning or only heating, but I could not make the room cooler. The duvet was thick and far too warm for a mild night, but as there was no top-sheet it was duvet or nothing, so I was alternately too warm and too chilly through the night. The pillows were comfy though! With the window open planes taking off from the nearby airport were clearly audible, but not overly intrusive, and certainly not enough to keep me from falling asleep.

The main selling point for me were the fitness facilities which were so expansive there's a map for them! Every possible workout and recovery equipment is on hand so no matter what your training regime you'll have an excellent workout. The staff are friendly throughout from the reception, to dining and in the gym areas. Otherwise: check-in and out was efficient and the room was very clean. Breakfast was decent quality and plentiful. Car park is big but busy.

The bedroom category I'd booked was the very lowest but the room was still pretty small. It was adequate for 1 night but cramped for any longer so it's worth paying a little extra here.
