Conveniently located close to the station and reasonably close to the city centre. Usefully on a bus route which would have covered all requirements had Osney bridge not been closed during our stay. Not the ultimate in luxury but clean and comfortable enough. Self-service breakfast better than expected (and breakfast itself is rare in these "room only" houses)

It's not so much a guest house as a building full of rooms. We're more comfortable with some staff on site overnight. The door on our room was the wrong way round making it very difficult to get in and out.

I chose the property against some of the familiar chains available, because of the parking. Despite there being only 4 spaces, I was always able to park during our 3 night stay. The property is of typical "English" construction and was therefore interesting for my Russian wife. The breakfast was more than adequate and the place was clean. Although the check-in procedure is unsupervised, it was all very smooth and well-organised. We were even able to say hello to the owner one morning, while we sipped cava at a table outside, when he turned up with provisions on his bike.

While the breakfast included plenty of fruit, we would have liked something like cucumber and tomato, maybe peppers to slice onto bread.

The communication from the property was great - they left detailed instructions about how we could get in and had confirmed in advance that we could leave our car there for the whole day. We arrived in a heatwave and, as our room was on the top floor, we appreciated the fan in the room. The room was really quiet at night. Breakfast the next morning (eaten in the courtyard because of the heat) was nice too - plenty of choice. The location was great for us, about 20 walk into the city centre.

Maybe I didn't read the description properly, but our room had a shared bathroom, which I didn't realise in advance. The bathroom was large and super-clean. My one complaint was that it only had a bath and not a shower.

The guest house is very well maintained, even if from the outside the building looks quite run-down, inside is really nice. The rooms are very elegant. My parents had a king room ensuite which was very large. I had a single room with a shared bathroom: it was small but comfy. The best thing was the self service breakfast in the open kitchen that you could actually access at any time. And you can have coffee and tea both in your room or in the kitchen. It feels far from the centre despite the fact it is only a 10 mins walk from the station. Oxford is a small town anyway.

The shared bathroom was very beautiful and clean, but unfortunately it only has a bathtub, not a shower. Not ideal, still I had a relaxing bath in the morning but I was the first using it. Maybe I wouldn't have liked it if I had to use it after someone else.

I know Oxford well. I needed one night's accommodation at modest cost at a time when other accommodation was fully booked. Osney Arms is no more than 15 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford, exactly what I was looking for. The guest house provides good accommodation. Obviously, they economise - and keep the charges down - by not having any on site staff. There was no need. My bedroom was clean and smart. A good continental style breakfast was provided - self-served - in the breakfast room. I need to be gluten free and had mentioned this in my booking. I was delighted that gluten free items had been specially provided for my breakfast. Thank you, Osney Arms.

Everything good.

I booked for the location & I got to park my car which was great

Wasn’t keen on the help yourself continental breakfast which we skipped at a communal table. The cracked mug with the tea facilities should have been changed. Bed was too hard for us. Ok if you like a hard bed. Plenty available in the dining room tho. Wasn’t aware of the road closure into the city so getting a taxi was difficult & quoted £30 for what should have been a 20 minute walk. Which we did on the return journey as £60 both ways is ridiculous. Buses had been diverted. No Uber available

Guest house with multiple rooms. Bathroom was shared but lovely big bathtub. No shower but that was ok for me. My room was on the top floor up 3 flights of stairs. Though the place is unstaffed when I arrived the cleaner was there and was very helpful and helped me get my bag up the stairs. Breakfast was simple but does the trick. Room was comfortable, but not for tall people as this one was in the roof space.

Oxford is currently undergoing lots of construction and roadworks. The walk to and from the train station and the centre of town was a bit precarious and not really good for a solo traveller or anyone with mobility issues.

Brilliant host. Expected key safe entry but was pleased the host was there to greet us and had got the room ready for our arrival which was earlier than 4pm. Added bonus we got a parking space right outside. The continental breakfast surpassed expectations and added treat of chocolate eclairs toffees to help ourselves to! Extra touches in room also appreciated. Host was informative about getting into Oxford.

Everything good mirror perhaps a bit small in the room.

Excellent location for Oxford, 10-15 minute walk. Extremely clean and bed was very comfortable, breakfast although continental was very good again excellent quality of bread and pastries and coffee machine was very good quality. Highly recommended guest house.

I was lucky and got 1 of the 2 parking spaces at property, the car parking would be the only draw back in my view but, there's not a lot which could be done about this. Very small minus.

Jess was there on our arrival. She kindly carried my suitcase upstairs for me. !! (She offered which is quite something as we were on the 3rd floor and I have a bad back so I would really have struggled.) It was nice that the breakfast room is open for most of the day and you can get coffee - great coffee machine.

We did not enjoy sharing a bathroom with other guests. Maybe if there was a shower it would have been more acceptable? Could they put blinds / curtains for the sun in the breakfast room? It gets very very hot and the sun shines onto the food making it sweat.
