The staff, location and room were perfect. Our son is at University in Oxford so we will now use this hotel as our go to location! We used the hotel restaurant and the food was amazing! great service!

Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable, it was worn and slopped down thus I had to sleep in the middle of the bed so i could sleep, which unfortunately disturbed my wife.

Excellent location ..couldn’t be more central. Staff were really warm and welcoming without exception. Couldn’t do enough for guests. Car space included which was well organised with a dedicated space for the duration of our stay. Room very good facilities, coffee, selection of teas. A nice touch was the fresh milk in the fridge with complementary water, mini bar, tv with sky, comfortable bed, lovely view and very clean. Bathroom was excellent, big bath and amazing shower…spotless. Breakfast really nice, had a very good vegetarian breakfast as well as a lovely full English. The bread was delicious . Fresh fruit juices . Just very good. Room service was also very fast and efficient. Restaurant is also excellent , had dinner on first night and couldn’t fault it.

The only very small thing we could mention and we are being picky is the route to the car park is tricky and takes you around the back of the high street on quite narrow roads. It wasn’t a problem for us as we have a small car but could imagine it would be slightly more difficult for a large car..

The location was perfect located in the centre of town so all attractions were within walking distance! The restaruant was excellent and in our package an excellent breakfast was included. There was a reserved space for our car and the hotel attendant was waiting for us to arrive!

Oxford has a number of prohibited zones for driving so if you happen to accidently end up in one it could cost you 70 pounds or more! Apparently hotels are now being built without car parks so think carefully about coming by car!

The staff are highly professional, kind and helpful. We were offered a choice of rooms which was difficult to make because they were all so good. The hotel itself is well decorated and extremely well appointed. All in all it was a great experience.

The room prices are quite high, but Oxford is generally expensive and it is not unreasonable for a property of this standard to ask higher prices than others. Of course we would have liked to pay less, but we're happy to accept the reality under the circumstances. It felt like money well spent.

This was a great hotel very central to visit Oxford attractions including colleges and shops. The room and service were very good, quite and well appointed.

The restaurant was very noisy full of 'Hard surfaces' so once full very loud. As my wife had hearing difficulties we cancelled the follow up bookings in the restaurant. Breakfast was very good, severed (not a buffet) with Hotel guests only, much more quite and really enjoyable. I think we hit a bust time with an event in Oxford so the Restaurant was completely full.

The hotel was immaculate, you can see how through the staff look after each corner of the hotel. It is modern, rooms are specious, the built in wardrobe has got space to fit all clothes and shoes etc. it was quiet all day long so you can rest at any time of the day. The food at the restaurant is of high quality, very tasty, very fresh. It is between 5-10 min at all famous colleges and museums and shopping area. No taxi needed. The staff cannot do enough to accommodate any request of the guests. I felt like I was at home and did not want to leave at the end of my stay.

There is nothing not to like

I went to Exeter College and hadn't been back to Oxford in 20 years. I came for a visit with my wife and decided to stay at Old Bank on High St with my wife as a treat (celebrating her birthday). I had walked by the hotel many times as a student but never went in. It was fantastic--highly recommended. Many things we liked: staff was prompt, professional, friendly, checked us in early and promptly, upgraded us for wife's birthday and left nice card and cakes for her in the room, beautiful artwork throughout property, nice restaurant and bar, very comfortable, had an amazing view of the Radcliffe Camera, even lent us electrical converters.

It was all exceptional--no complaints!

The location can't be beat, the service overall is really 5 star (they even called us before the stay and before check out to let us know there were road closures), the room is not too big but comfortable and clean, the food at Quod is decent and is room service, really beautiful hotel with beautiful paintings. We found our Oxford go-to hotel!

A few of the front desk people need to be friendlier. One lady seemed to be slightly annoyed when we asked for a late check out.

Lovely hotel, beautiful building, welcoming staff, room was fab overlooking High Street and views up towards the Bodleian Library, have breakfast in courtyard then pop across the road and explore the colleges - location could not be better. Only word of advice make sure you read the website for directions for parking before you set off and if your vehicle is big its a tight squeeze to get into the parking area from Magpie Lane.

Breakfast could have been better

Wonderful hotel in the centre of Oxford. We have been awarded of a room upgrade from small to classic room. Super clean room and kind staff. The bike rental service is super nice , we have a pleasant bicycle ride out in the city and the closer parks .

The restaurant is not what you expect from a 5-star hotel. We had dinner and then breakfast the next day. Staff is not really kind and the food is not great (good but not fabulous).
