Easy hotel to get to, check in went well. Room was spotless and clean, very comfortable bed and good pillows…nice shampoo and hand soap.

Went down for breakfast at 9am to a disaster!! No tables available, eventually got one when other guests left. Had to clear away their mess before we could sit down. No coffee or hot chocolate as the machine broke down so decaf coffee was put out. Not enough coffee mugs out either. Guests waiting for clean cutlery, not enough food, no potato hash browns, little scrambled egg and a few pieces of bacon. No fresh juice available. It was just awful that we walked out!

We have stayed here at Christmas for many years , as it's convenient for visiting family in Kings Cliffe . This hotel has been consistently excellent . The management are friendly and welcoming ; the beds are very comfortable ; everywhere is clean ; the breakfast , including the hot food , is plentiful- love the croissants. As for the price - I doubt that you could get anywhere for better value . It's a long drive from our home near Bath but we'll continue to stay here for as long as we can manage the trip . Thank you !

We had the best stay here, lovely warm and welcoming when entering the building, smooth check in, lovely decor our room was absolutely beautiful and clean with added extras that came in handy especially the hair dryer! The bed was so comfortable I was out like a light 😴 I haven't slept that good in so long! In the mornings we went down for breakfast and just WOW! such good variety and all so yummy! The staff were great and very welcoming, and hats off to the cleaners who do an absolutely astonishing job of cleaning the rooms, thank you so much holiday inn Peterborough for an amazing stay we will definitely be back! 😃

Strong weird smell in the bathroom Couldn't pay cash for a cold drink

Excellent price. Peterborough has two HI Exs, for some reason, and this one was half the price of the other. Can't see why.

I've stayed in 4 HI Exs in rapid succession, so I can't be sure if this was one with this problem, but in 2 out of 4 hotel, the BBC 1 HD channel had no sound. BBC 1 lo res was fine, as was BBC 2 HD. It was just the BBC 1 HD that was silent. Anyone else found this with Holiday Inn Express tellies? Or is it just me? Like I say, it affects a random few TVs, and probably most people don't notice or care (it's channel 101 if you'd like to try it out). #FirstWorldProblems

Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was light and bright with a large shower and Dove shampoo, bodywash and handwash. Housekeeping came every day to make up the room, without being asked. They even noticed that the bulb in one of the bedside lights had blown the previous afternoon - I had forgotten to mention it but housekeeping spotted it and replaced the bulb. The room heating was effective and adjustable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were little additional touches such as sweets and pens available at reception. Also cold water and a microwave for guests' use in the foyer. There was an iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the room. A notice in the room offered complimentary toothbrushes etc if needed. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and although quite basic, it was tasty and enjoyable. The hotel is happy for guests to take extra items (e.g croissants, muffins, fruit) away and provides food bags for this. They also didn't mind when we visited the dining area in the evening just to pick up green tea bags and jam. Overall we were pleasantly suprised by the hotel and its staff and felt they went the extra mile (and were cheaper) compared to Sir Lenny's hotel chain. We will certainly use Holiday Inn Express again.

I would have liked more choice at breakfast (e.g flavoured yoghurt). The hotel offered a very limited choice of evening meals, but to be fair there is a decent Harvester next door and a good Vintage Inn across the road.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were very helpful and cheerful. Inclusive breakfast.

I booked a disabled room for my wife, only to find that the disabled rooms were as far away as possible from reception and the dining area. Without unloading her mobility scooter, it was much too far. I switched to a normal room a few feet from reception. I could only see one disabled parking bay, which was always occupied. The breakfast was good, but since last year, they have stopped using branded jams and spreads. The substitutes were very cheap and unpleasant.

On arrival, the receptionist was fantastic - I have arthritis- she came out to offer help with my bag and little dog. Once at the desk, she found me the perfect room on the ground floor - very near the reception. Super clean and comfortable room. Good quality bed linen. Next morning, breakfast was very good - not the highest quality or biggest selection but as its included in the room rate - excellent value. And very importantly for me, dog friendly tables available. Location close to the A1 was perfect for an overnight stop.

Room rate of £56 was very very good value - only minor criticism is that £25 for a small dog is a bit excessive.

As our stay was for 4 nights, it was unfortunate that there was no proper restaurant serving properly cooked meals rather than snacks. We were told of the Harvester next door by staff but due to stay being over the Christmas period, we had no chance of getting a table at all. Not only that but if the weather turned bad you would be soaked walking between the hotel and the restaurant.

We like the simplicity, easy check in and good comfortable, clean rooms. Staff were polite and responsive. Overall, the hotel presents excellent value for money. Proximity to the A1 motorway, and ease of access, makes this hotel a sensible place to stop on a long, North to South journey.

We prefer buffet style breakfast at hotels. This should, therefore, have been ideal. However, the hot food choice of Sausage, Bacon, Hash Browns and Baked Beans, left little option for the one of us who is vegetarian, particularly as she is not a fan of baked beans. Even if she was, hash browns and beans is not a particularly appealing . There were no eggs available on the day we visited. Having said that, one of us was happy !

Had asked for sofa bed to be made up for arrival, was done. Lady on reception when booking in was lovely & this was done quickly. We only had 2 towels in our room & when reported it was sorted in minutes. Room spotlessly clean.

Nothing really. It was one of the hottest nights of the year so air con in room would’ve been nice but this isn’t fault of staff, although the fan kept air circulating so lot too bad. Price of a pint isn’t cheap, but again, not fault of staff as this’ll be set by some faceless corporate suit in an office miles away.
