Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Walk in shower was good, water was hot. Kettle and tea making facilities available. Reception staff friendly and helpful. The view is splendid. No air conditioning but a fan was provided. Hairdryer, Iron and ironing board were also provided. Mugs provided rather than tiny cups.

Difficult to connect to Wi-fi. Breakfast was great on one day, and the same the next day but needed topping up. The evening meal in the restaurant is mediocre, not much choice other than beef burgers, pies or fish with chips. Where were the vegetables? ~The rooms are not cleaned daily or the beds made. No information about Wifi in the "manual", and the TV remote didn't work very well.

Room was very clean and the view out of window (room 103)was lovely, geese and swans by the lake. Very close to the centre (10 min drive)

Bedside cabinets needed to be closer to the bed and ideally with a plug socket to charge phone/tablet by the bed.

Bed was very comfortable. Room a good size. Iron and ironing board supplied as was hairdryer. Shower cubicle was spacious, and shower flow was good. Slip mat provided. Tea and coffee facilities. Toiletries supplied, with separate shampoo and body wash. The breakfast was average. The grounds were awesome, and the view from the restaurant was over the lake, and superb.

The room was not serviced every day, so the bins were not emptied or the bed made. The tea/coffee supplies were not topped up, so it felt a bit like Air BnB or self-catering, having to go and ask for supplies. The socket for the hairdryer was on the opposite wall to the mirror. No desk lamp so the room was quite dark. The food in the restaurant was average, and mostly overcooked. Breakfast was average with same cooked food available every day. There were no drawers for clothes, so other than hanging them up, the rest had to be kept in the suitcase.

Beautiful location overlooking the rowing city centre a few minutes away and local to other amenities. The restaurant ,bar and conservatory furnishings are super relaxing with a wonderful view out towards the lake. The staff go over and above to help your needs. Room and bathroom are excellent. Food good shame they do not do Sunday roasts.

Have nothing negative to say about my stay. The staff on all shifts were so helpful the maintence man even set up my cpap machine. For me. NOTHING NEGATIVE

Location was fantastic, We enoyed the view over the rowing lake and inlet of the River Nene from the restaurant at breakfast time. We took our binoculars to breakfast to look at the birds! We also had the same view from our room. Another good feature was that there is an excellent Chef and Brewer pub next door to the hotel, which has a more extensive menu and drinks selection. Breakfast was good. Staff were very attentive. When we reported that the shower door had come off its rails on the ways into breakfast, it had been fixed by the time we got back from breakfast. The prupose of our trip was walking and the walks along the river and round the rowing lake in the immediate vicinity of the hotel were great.

On one night we had dinner in the hotel instead of going to the pub. It took ages for our meals to arrive. They said they had had to freshly make my wife's pasta. My steak and ale pie was fine, but the "vegetable medley" that was supposed to accompany it turned out to be peas and nothing else. "Lack of vegetables" said the waiter/barman. It seems that very few residents have dinner in the pub. They all go to the pub next door or further afield. The pub next door is a strong plus point for the hotel ironically but it would be good if the hotel restaurant provided better competition.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Dragonfly. I was travelling alone and just needed somewhere nearby to rest for a night. Upon arrival I was quickly booked in with a friendly front of house lady. I went to my room and although very basic it was perfect for my 1 night stay. I headed to the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the stunning location and views. Luckily the sun was out so I enjoyed fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding outdoors, both of which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. I then took a stroll along the lake and spotted lots of ducks, geese, goslings, swans and herons. Apparently, there's a seal but I didn't see that. I headed to my room and the bed was super comfy, I had a restful night with no noise. The shower was great too. Easy to use, lots of hot water and very clean. I added the breakfast for £10 which was good value for money. It was continental and buffet style full English. I enjoyed what I had except the scrambled eggs which I believe should be made to order. The fresh coffee was really good too. Eating brekkie in a beautiful location is the way to get the day started. Overall a really lovely stay, great staff, highly recommended and would stay again if I'm in the area.

The walls were a little thin and the doors slammed really loudly. So whenever someone entered/left their room you'd hear a big slam. I'm sure this can be fixed with adjusting the hinges. The lighting in the room was great with the wall lamps bit an overall room light was missing. The decor wasn't a fantastic pallete of beige and brown and there's a lot of wear and tear which is the sign of a well used hotel. All good but the corridor could do with a lick of paint for a little freshen up. But it's not enough to not want to stay here. Merely cosmetics. Everything else is great from food to staff to cleanliness and comfort.

Hotel is in an excellent position for City Centre etc. Hotel has views of the lake & there are several walks you can do around near it. Bed was very comfortable & staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again when next in the area

Had to scan a code in the room if you wanted to book a table in the restaurant for a meal. Should be put on the bed or near the kettle so it's easily seen. If you don't use this method you can't eat as no bar meals on offer. At breakfast was only scrambled egg on offer & no fried eggs. Waitress who asked for our room number didn't show us to a table or checked we knew what to do especially as it was our 1st stay here.

Location was fantastic and beautiful scenery by the rowing lake. Room was really nice (executive suite) and large, with all facilities, as was bathroom. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection. Check in and out process easy. 24 hour bar open to residents.

Most staff were very friendly and attentive, apart from a couple of gents behind the bar and in restaurant on our first night. One was quite rude and seemed as though he didn't want to be there and body language was the same. Basically couldn't be bothered. Feel that the corridors to rooms could do with a freshen up decor wise, but everywhere else was good. On the Sunday we came back to bar for lunch, but was told the chef was busy and needed to catch up, so we couldn't order food (only sandwiches) until 3pm, and in the end the kind young lady behind the bar made them instead! Lots of car screeching at night in area beside hotel, which really detracted from the peaceful surroundings and a good night's sleep.

I like the views of the lake and the garden. The smashed avocado I had for breakfast was also very tasty. I like that the room provided a hairdryer and iron/ironing board. I like the large shower we had in our room and shower head.

I weren’t keen on the decor in the room as it’s quite dark. I also didn’t like that we were provided with only 1 pillow and a cushion instead of 2 pillows. I feel like the breakfast menu time was quite late as I had to wake up early and there weren’t any options to eat earlier as breakfast starts at 10am. Apart from that everything else was great.
