Good location. Excellent breakfast. Quiet and peaceful.

We booked what we thought was the top of the range room, a present from my wife to celebrate my 80th birthday. We were disappointed. Expected better. We feel that it was overpriced for what we had. There were housekeeping things with the room needed attention. ie. Curtains didn’t close together, the sink wouldn’t hold water- needed a washer, shower trap was blocked causing flooding to floor. Only two normal tea bags left each day.

The location of the hotel. Size of the property. The breakfast menu and the various choices. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. Free parking with a large car park area. smooth booking in and out.

We have been here several times and feel the shower and washing items provided are very mean for two people sharing. The room was a little dusty as was the reception area. The shower door could not be fully opened due to the position of the sink, resulting in it difficult to get in and out of the shower. Had no decaf tea and coffee provided in room ( had to go to the bar where it was provided )

The hotel itself is an impressive building, set in lovely grounds. The room was a good size, spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and good range of amenities (bonus points for having sockets by each side of the bed, and for being able to pull the TV out so we could attach our Chromecast and watch a bit of Netflix in the evening). The bathroom was immaculate and very nicely finished, towels were big and fluffy. Air conditioning worked perfectly. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and really went out of their way to make us feel like valued guests.

There wa no shelf in the shower to out toiletries on, but that's literally the one minor niggle from the entire stay.

Room was very clean, bed was very comfortable. Shower room was lovely, mirror with light was perfect night light. Shower had good flow rate. Very handy having a fridge in the room. Room was very hot when we arrived but with the thermostat control and being able to open the window wide was very welcome. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent - lovely selection of items.

The pillows were very hard - it gave me a headache and I ended up buying my own for the 2nd night as I couldnt face another night on them. There was a lack of drawers in the room and just a very narrow cubby hole unit in the wardrobe, if we had had 2 of us for a few days we would have struggled for space.

This is a beautiful hotel set in its own wonderful grounds .The staff were very courteous and attentive and the rooms were super clean &. comfortable..

Breakfast could be improved, as a four star hotel fresh orange juice should be offered as standard and not juice concentrate from a carton. The fresh fruit salad was not pleasant to eat as the outer hard skin had not been removed from the melon. Management should consider getting rid of single use shampoo bottles and install soap dispensers in the showers to help the environment..

Beautiful hotel. The check in was very friendly and efficient. We stayed in a deluxe double room which was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed

The room was smaller than expected. The complimentary drinks were accompanied with longlife uht milk - not pleasant! A small fridge with fresh milk would be a nice addition to the room. You might also like to think about dimming the corridor lights after 11pm . The blackout blind was brilliant but the light coming under the door lit the room up.

Sadly purpose of visit was a funeral, where the post-funeral hospitality was held at the hotel. The staff handled the large number of attendees and were courteous and mindful of the nature of the gathering. I received an unexpected upgrade to my room, which was lovely. Lots of space to meet and greet. Breakfast, staff very helpful.

Possibly if there had been an opportunity to indicate who we would be meeting with at hotel, ie 5 of us were meeting up as sadly it was a university friend's funeral. However we were scattered throughout the hotel!

The hotel is stunning, the rooms are a good size with everything you need, the staff are friendly and happy to help Then food was good, plenty of choice for breakfast. I also visited the treatment room during my visit, Penny was incredible and the treatments were very relaxing

The food and drinks are quite expensive and hot food is not served after 9:30pm which was a shame as we travelled 4.5hrs after work to get to the hotel and were quite hungry

setting beautiful, Bed really comfy, food delicious, friendly staff.

Grounds need some work, being in a beautiful setting and on a beautiful day you want to be able to enjoy the surrounding, this was possible but garden furniture really does need up dating!! and more of it, planting need some attention!! the hotel is going through some renovation inside, which did not effect our stay. I also think it courteous to mention if you are putting visitors on the 3rd floor that the last section does not have a lift, for my mother it meant she could not just pop to her room due to the location, it was more a case once she was on the ground floor she would stay until bed.

parking excellent. huge entrance and lobby. reception team very helpful and checking in easy and fast process. breakfast excellent and plenty of choice. Sunday lunch again excellent and plenty of choice and jazz trio played through lunch. spacious deluxe room on ground floor. very clean and always very well stocked with tea and coffee. fridge and safe in room.

The grounds are in need of some maintenance and upkeep. Dead plants in pots etc. The back of the building also in need of some upkeep and repair. very tatty in places. The front is being renovated however, so no doubt this will be work in progress.
