Very clean and peaceful

WiFi. - advertised but never worked. Rang the owner to ask for correct password as advertised in our welcome package but never got a reply. Had to chase this up when I eventually found someone who worked there during the weekend. Taxi company advertised in the welcome noted very rude and didn’t went to help out during our stay. I would recommend not putting there details out for customers any longer. 4x4 parked all weekend right at the entrance to our accommodation. We were staying with our child and struggled to squeeze past with our pram and luggage etc.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The location was ideal - around 20 mins in the car to York city centre, and a petrol station with a shop just 5 mins down the road. The cottages themselves were quiet and peaceful, perfect for a restful stay. The check-in/out process was super seamless and easy too. Our cottage was clean, comfy and had everything we needed - we'll definitely be returning for future trips to York!

The only minor thing I would say is that the bed could have been a little comfier - although it wasn't enough to spoil our stay and we still had a great night's sleep!

The grounds were lovely for a walk after a long drive. Enjoyed all the animals especially the cat who joined us for the stroll up to the Alpacas and back. The sunset was amazing and we could see why it was a good location for weddings. Location was chosen for distance to our friend and we ate at the local Chinese Sweet Basil only 1 minute drive (reservation required). The cottage was perfect in size for 3 of us and the decor was spot on. It was a lovely place to relax after a long drive and bring able to light a real fire and sit around it was a treat.

Proximity to the main road. It was really busy making the in/out a bit hairy. That's no fault of the property though. Personal taste on the mattress it was too soft and I didn't sleep well.

Very private. Enjoyed being able to come and go as we pleased . Quite spacious living room . Prompt response to any queries from the owners. Adequate drawers and wardrobe space Good value for money considering we had the whole cottage to ourselves.

Very squeaky bed frame in the front bedroom, this was however resolved by moving into the second bedroom on the second night. Very small double beds pushed against the wall in both rooms so if the person sleeping against the wall had to get up in the night, they had to climb over the other person, which wasn’t at all appreciated coupled with the noise of the bed frame in the front bedroom. There were quite a few cobwebs in the living room around the window frame and the top of the extractor fan in the kitchen is very dusty. However neither of these points affected our stay.

Gorgeous farm setting with plenty of space to walk and see farm animals and gorgeous scenery. Beautiful buildings and so clean. Our accommodation was upgraded, so this was a lovely surprise when we arrived. Such a friendly host and happy to help if needed. Lovely local pubs not too far away.

Location is quite “remote”, if wanting to walk to a pub or go for dinner. We didn’t mind walking, but we did drive in the end as we had an older dog with us. Just to be mindful, but if you’re happy driving somewhere or just cooking your own meal and enjoying it in the lovely farm accommodation, then you’ll love it.

The key was in our cottage door when we arrived. The cottage was well equipped and we had everything we needed during our 3 night stay. The lounge looks onto the courtyard and it was nice to see the various farm animals when they were nearby. The location, approx 9 miles from York and Knaresborough in either direction, was very convenient for exploring the area.

The beds in either room are up against a wall so one person could not get out of bed in the night without climbing over the other person, therefore it was easier for us to sleep in separate rooms.

Lovely cottage. Clean, cosy and comfortable. It had so much charm and character. We wish we had booked for longer! The check in was easy and the place was warm and inviting. We were greeted in the caught yard by a lovely cat.

At first lay down we thought the bed was comfortable however it fooled us as my partner and I woke up uncomfortable throughout the night. It may just be us and our preference though. We got confused with how to get to the property as I think we turned in the wrong road.

The staff are absolutely amazing and friendly, we were shown around the property and saw the animals and what a beautiful venue to host a wedding for those getting married. The room was spotless and had everything you need the beds were so soft and comfortable aswell.

The WiFi we couldn't connect to, we found around 6-7 different passwords in the room and none seemed to work haha but that didn't bother us as much as it might others as there's not much phone signal there.

Well equipped and lovely location. All the information was provided and easy to access. Hot tub was the best part and helped get us relaxed after a hard week at work. Good communication and set up the balloons for my husbands welcome.

Did need a little more dusting and cleaning. Needs a few updated pieces of furniture e.g the cushions in the living room and mattress in the bigger room.

Beautiful little cottage. There was myself and 2 children (10, 14) and was plenty of room for the 3 of us despite being advertised as the smallest of cottages (without hottub or log burner) It was warm and clean and the finishing touches to make it homely were lovely. The Xmas decorations added to our festive weekend away. The location was ideal only being 10/15 min drive to poppleton park and ride for quick transport into the city.

The only negative I have is the getting out of the courtyard onto the busy a59 is a little tricky. And coming back late at night it was a bit tough to locate but there is a little sign lit up. Just be careful not to miss it!
