The staff was very friendly and able to go extra mile to meet guests expectations. The room was reasonably clean and neat. Drinking water is free and unlimited for guests. The smoking area on the rooftop was the highlight of my trip, because it can accommodate the needs of those who are smoking and expecting some fresh air. And also pollution free because it’s located on the 19th floor.

The TV in the room could’ve use some upgrades to smart TV so the guests are able to relax while enjoy movies and shows.

The window view was on the Empire State building and Manhattan! The maid ladies were so polite and nice. Unlimited water near the front, small dining area downstairs. Easy access to the room with card keys. We booked one more night and they kindly allowed us to stay in the same room. A safe in the room, enough hangers and blow dryer. The location was amazing, close to the markets and cafes, and good grocery stores. We felt safe in the area. I'd stay again.

No fridge in the room, the AC is pretty loud (so take the earplugs). The elevators were weird and slow - sometimes stopping at a random floor with no one to enter. Sometimes only one elevator was working, so we decided to walk on the 11th floor. I'd avoid staying in #1109 room (unless you are part of the Ghostbusters crew). We stayed in a different room on the 11th floor and accidentally found out about room #1109 (we were so relieved to know it wasn't our room omg).

This hotel was a bargain and I took a chance. The hotel was clean and smelled amazing everywhere including lobby and hallways. The room was very clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable and the shower was huge and excellent. I loved walking around this neighborhood there were great restaurants and the shopping was interesting. I would stay here again easily.

Rooms were slightly dated but that is a minor point

Location is great. I was not on business nor on vacation but helping my daughter to organize her appartment in the University. Hotel is close to subway, there is also a citibike parking close so you can rent and bike to place. Lot's of great restaurants. The is a small dely on the corner that they recomend. Prices are great and people very friendly.

There was no small refrigerator and shower and bathroom could be a little better, but it was clean and comfortable. Also, there was a place for seating and eating downstairs. They could have a small cafeteria as well or a vending machine.

Would’ve loved a microwave in our room. It’s sometimes a pain to go downstairs everytime we want to heat up some food.

Hassle-free check-in and check-out. Lots of subway stations nearby. Quiet nights, good sleep (18 floor, near elevator, 6 nights). Quiet and effective central air conditioner. Coffee and water always available near the lobby. The hotel looks clean, no unwanted smells anywhere. A really nice touch: a large eating/sitting room with tables and a microwave behind the lobby, with clean and spacious locked washrooms. We appreciate the convenience of using that room to re-pack when leaving!

A fridge in the room would be helpful. The area to the East/South East is not very clean, so do not walk that direction for more than a couple blocks from the hotel, unless you have to. Otherwise, the neighbourhood looks reasonably clean and safe.

There were some problems initially with a broken lamp, a non-working alarm clock, dripping bathroom faucets. Staff IMMEDIATELY responded with personnel to address these things. The beds, pillows were comfy and impeccably clean. The room/bathroom were spotlessly cleaned daily when convenient for us; supplies were replaced according to OUR need. Staff arranged for an airport ride desired by one in our party. Staff managers were on duty at ALL times--responsive, cheerful and helpful--even cautioned re smoking location on the rooftop. I needed to remain in the room after normal checkout time and was told "no problem". The hotel provided a ride from the airport on arrival--HUGE! The cleaning people were kind and lovely.

NOT MUCH--it's an old building--maybe the "rope" of electrical wires could be looked at--but we never felt we were in danger. It would have been nice to have a place to sit--only chair was a desk chair that was a little off its slats.

Super happy with our choice of hotel for this visit to NYC. The room was small but not cramped, all the space we needed for the two of us! The room was clean and the staff were so kind. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms allowed for a little privacy. The location was perfect. A 20 minute walk to Washington Square from one direction and 20 minutes to the 9-1-1 Memorial heading the other. We ate breakfast at Flipper's twice which was a few blocks from the hotel and grabbed coffee at 787 Coffee Co.-both fantastic and both had very warm and inviting staff. We will definitely staff here again the next time we visit the city. The cost was the lowest we found in the area and we were not disappointed!

We had no complaints! Our stay was very memorable and SoHo 54 was an excellent spot for our stay!

I love the price and the fact it was right in SoHo by all my favorite shopping and restaurants. I drove so it was right by the tunnel to get my back on the road I will most definitely book again! I want to gatekeep this gem! Also the vending machine had the best snacks omg!

The bathroom seems a bit dated and the sink made a loud squeaking noise and the iron in our room didn’t work but was replaced immediately. Also with the orange juice machine worked downstairs in the lounge area but the coffee was great!!

The staff were very nice, helpful and courteous. I love the seating area on the 19th floor. You can overlook the city, very beautiful at night. Also, one of the housekeeping ladies was so pleasant. I never got her name, but she was such a sweetheart. The ac worked, which is a plus for me. Oh yea, great location!

There are two reasons why I didn't score this hotel a 10. The rooms are slightly small and didn't have a mini fridge in the room. The size really isn't a big deal, giving the fact I am in NY, but I'm big on the fridge. The room does appear as pictured online. The front desk mentioned they were out, but did offer to put our food in one of their fridge, which they labeled and both the attendant and I received a ticket for our food, which was ok.
