Reception with its warm cinnamon/ginger/lemon grass tea was a great start. Ken took time explained the facilities/services as well as Hanoi. Breakfast with the ala carte menu gave a good spread and a cozy space with attentive staff Kylie & Amelia & male colleagues. The spacious room was quiet, even had a letter fr the GM to inform us about the renovations/noise of the neighbouring pty which only happened during daytime. The location is accessible to all attractions & F&B yet quiet. Clean rooms & welcome tray of fresh fruits. Efficient lift. Also compliment Louis for recommending a bakery & friendly staff Lily and the bellhops. Great experience.

Superb service. Excellent location. Fantastic rooftop bar with great views. This hotel is perfect for staying in Hanoi’s old quarter. It’s a better value than their big sister property around the corner and if you need to use the gym during your stay, you’re allowed free entry to their sister property. Mary (the GM) and her team made me feel both like a VIP and a friend visiting their home. That combination of service is only seen in the best properties worldwide, and you’ll have it here in Hanoi. I was having trouble booking transport to HaLong and when they found out they took care of booking a more private option at the same rate. They even messaged to check up on me that all went well. I can’t say enough good things about Hotel du Lac — they deserve their high rating and I’ll stay again when in Hanoi. Thanks Hotel du Lac Team!

There are interior facing windows in the rooms but they are easily coverable with curtains.

We loved everything about this perfect boutique hotel in the heart of Hanoi's Old quarter! The decor, the food, the level of service were all excellent, but what made it exceptional were the amazing staff members, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us explore Hanoi. On first arriving at the hotel, we realised my husband had left his passport on the plane! The wonderful hotel manager contacted the airport and sorted everything out for us, including organising a taxi to take us back to the airport, wait for us, and gave us all the info we needed to retrieve the passport! What could have been a disastrous start to our holiday was made so much easier by the lovely staff at Hotel du Lac, and we were so grateful - thank you ❤️❤️

I stayed on my birthday with my friend, and Kevin and his team at reception were absolutely amazing. From the first day I arrived, Kevin provided a lot of information about the area and recommended locations I should visit. One day before my birthday, he surprised me with a beautiful flower arrangement on the bed and a birthday cake. It was a delightful surprise, and I was so happy since I didn't expect anything. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. I can't wait to come back and stay again. The rooms are clean, the breakfast offers a wide variety, the staff is friendly, and the hotel feels completely safe!

The hotel is located in a great area and the staff was super nice. The room was decent size and clean. The beds were good. Breakfast was really good with a great variety of pre-made stuff and many things made for order, but included in the complementary breakfast.

We had a room with a neighbor' view, when if fact the window was overlooking the back alley of some neighboring buildings. It was not great and not what I expected. The bathroom was pretty cramped. The toilet seat was really close to the sink, so it was not very comfortable to sit on it.

Very comfortable boutique hotel in a great Location. So nice we stayed twice. The first one night before going to Ha Long Bay and then 2 nights before travelling home. The staff are very helpful, their English is excellent. Its a lovely clean and very comfortable hotel in the old quter of Hanoi. The lake is so close, as are plenty of shops and we even did a Train St tour.The resaturnat serves lovely food, the breaksfast caters for local and western style breakfast, all was delicious. The sky bar is a lovely place to have a drink and watch the sun go down. It was a great stay and if we are in Hanoi again we will stay again. Thankyo Mary (General Manager) and your wonderful team.

Big step into the hotel, I am only short and had to step down sideways. Not really an issue but I can;t think of anything that we didn't like.

The location of the hotel is perfect right in the centre of everything only a short walk to restaurants, lake, good spa, shops etc The entrance in stunning beautiful art and furnishings and the staff always greet you with a real smile. Staff were exceptional from the lovely young men on the roof bar (excellent GnT) to the ladies at breakfast and wonderful reception staff. I would say the best hotel staff I’ve ever experienced!!!

Very small thing but the doors banged closed so a little noisy but did not detract from my stay and I would 100% stay here again.

Delightful boutique hotel in a prime location, central to all Hanoi sights and surrounded by countless restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Charming and elegant, richly decorated in a French colonial style with comfortable rooms (except rooms without exterior windows; be sure to confirm when booking) and a good buffet breakfast. The standout is the 5-star level of service which bears comparison with the best hotels anywhere. The staff could not be warmer, more thoughtful or more solicitous. They really care that their guests are contented and well looked after. Such lovely people and a true oasis of calm, warmth and tranquility amid the noise and commotion of historic Hanoi. Fantastic value too.

Some of the lowest-priced rooms have no exterior window (which is common in old town hotels). Be sure to ask when booking. Rooms are showing their age but are comfortable and well equipped.

Beautiful decor ( I mean the whole place feels like an art gallery) - amazing location, perfectly central to everything of interest - amazing staff and level of service.

My room was on the 3rd floor and the cleaning carts were parked there. Yes the cleaning carts have a parking which was incidentally next to my room. There was also a cleaning cart jam in the morning haha. Your mileage might vary, depending on your floor, room and your feelings about cleaning carts Noise isolation is poor in the rooms so if you get noisy neighbors good luck. Maybe the cleaning carts saved me haha. Room is not particularly bright and a little on the smaller side.

Upon checkout the staff wanted us to fill the feedback form. I told them we dont wish to fill this - it was 8am and we were waiting for our pickup to halong bay. 2min later another staff member came and kept standing next to us asking again and again for feedback. I tried to close the conversation but she just didnt leave. The stay was great but trying to push people to leave feedback when its clear they dont wish to engage in conversation early morning is not what is to be expected from luxury service.
