Beautiful place in nice location. Beach is great and the daytime atmosphere is wonderful. Lovely staff and beautiful environnent and food. Quiet at night.
No curtains. None. And there are so many windows in each cabin. There are even windows beside each of the bottom bunks as well as big windows above the whole room. You have no choice but to wake up with the pre-sunrise light at 4am. It would be perfect if they just put curtain around each bed and across each little bed window so everyone could individually choose if they wanted to have sunrise wake ups or not. God knows they charge enough to afford it.

My heart goes to the staff that welcomed from the first day. Fabio behind the counter able to work under pressure like a giant. Ilaria at the reception desk, managing the operations perfectly. Stella at the bar which always has a chat with the guests. The kitchen which prepared a perfect lunch with my allergens. The hostel has relaxed vibe, perfect to return after the day out and rest. The pool is awesome and refreshing, the kitchen and the bathroom well cleaned in a tropical climate. The wildlife is just amazing koalas, kangaroos and possums play under the birds all hours. Amazing the dormitory. Spacious and fine clean, with a genius keyless door. The big mango tree at the entrance really set the vibes. Hammocks, bean bags and couch do the rest. Inside the gates there is massive space with camping area and spaced cabins. You can get lost looking at the big palms or following a curlew. Will return

Cool and quirky venue for a stay on Magnetic island. Short walking distance to horseshoe bay which has a couple of restaurants and a great sunset. We stayed in one of the double rooms which are really cosy, clean and have great aircon. There is so much wildlife (literally on your doorstep) including wallabies & birds. Nice area to socialise and a large pool. All in all an excellent place to stay and would recommend to anyone considering.
The food was pretty average for the prices but that's picking. I also think the bathrooms could benefit from more regular cleans but they were fine otherwise.

It's very easy to get to, one bus from the ferry (the buses have luggage storage and will tell you when to get off. Bus stops you right outside the hostel. Immediately feels welcoming, loads of seating, tables, hammocks, beanbags. Good activities, the DJ night was great with children jungle house vibes so people still sat and talked. Bird feeding is a riot! I stayed in the Bus and it's so much better than the pics. Cosy, comfy and spacious. Good storage, air con, lamps, fake plants and ornaments. I saw Kookaburra, parrots, Curlews and Wallabies around my room. My friend had a Koala outside hers. Good laundry facilities. Can book koala tours, rent skateboards and snorkelling gear. Bar is open most of the day. Lots of toilets and showers. Honestly couldn't ask for more.
Nothing, loved my stay

The staff were awesome, they went out of their way to interact with us as a family, making my two little ones 5 & 7 have a great time as individuals. Daughter attended yoga with Amy and made a new big friend, then karaoke. Both enjoyed joining other travellers in a fun Uno comp night. Great pool to relax by, bird feeding and bar/lounge area. Ranger Mike and his team for the Koala & meet the animals breakfast were awesome people. Selina's offers everything that is required though it is not for people who wish to stay in a cocoon and disassociate from others. This side of the island is island time, more laid back. The fort walk we spotted 5 Koalas alone the track, then did another walk from Arthurs to Florence Bay Beach for half a day, such an amazing real world experience for children to be in nature rather than going to a big city zoo or manicured fake resort island like Hamilton etc.

Beautiful spot, fantastic facilities, very cool common area/bar. The perfect place to start and end your days at magnetic island. Or to even hangout and read a book
When we checked in, we didn’t really get a low down of the activities or where to find them on the island which I’m used to when staying in hostels. They only told us of the activities the hostel were hosting and not very helpful with other activity ideas. So just make sure you’ve done your research before hand. But such a minor comment, we still lived our stay and be back 100%

Tranquil surroundings, an excellent bar, and the well-maintained ladies' room featured pleasant toilets and showers. The cabin, equipped with air conditioning and a fridge, added to the overall comfort. Although I didn't try the breakfast and lunch, the menu seemed enticing.
It would have been convenient if they offered basic food items like bread, noodles, and fruit, perhaps at the reception. Having a dinner service or more consistent options, beyond occasional pizzas in the bar, would enhance the experience. Clear information about available food choices would be beneficial. The pool appeared stagnant and murky, raising concerns about cleanliness. Increased frequency and affordability of tours at the koala park would be appreciated. Unfortunately, the internet wasn't functional, and the men's room toilets were unclean. Additionally, the consistently full trash bin outside the laundry room was a notable inconvenience.

Selina’s is a beautiful hostel, friendly staff and cool activities especially the bird feeding. Kitchen equipment got an upgrade but some of the gas stoves are not working so at busy times it’s a bit annoying. Only really downside for me was the missing real blankets. They provide only a bed sheet, I’ve asked for a extra blanket but they are super thin. So I was sleeping in jumper and leggings and was still freezing, same for my roommate. Even if winter is only a short Periode the should prepare for the temperatures. All in all a really good hostel.

- Cabins are really nicely done. Feels modern and homey at the same time. One of the nicest places we stayed on the East Coast without breaking the bank! - Showers are massive & there are a lot of toilets. Never had to wait for either - Located right outside the bus stop, so super easy to get to other parts of the island on the main bus route (including Nomads) - Onsite bar has good food & drink options
- Kitchen is quite small and a bit outdated. It gets packed at around 7:30, so I’d make sure to cook before dinner rush

The location is huge and it’s lovely to walk around and there are lots of activities
I prepaid for breakfast but I didn’t actually know what that was. It was 4 meal choices off the breakfast menu. We stayed in the family room but I would consider it more a backpacker vibe or older kids. Not sure if they had a cot but they didn’t have a high chair. The beds were comfortable but the door had a massive gap above it we had to put a towel in to stop the bugs. There was a kettle but no mugs or spoons. I don’t know if I’d stay here with you g kids again but I would with older or alone
