Quiet, peaceful surroundings. Wildlife. Pool and pool area was amazing. Main bed was very comfortable. Lots of cooking utensils and cookware. Well priced for Christmas time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Overall we would stay again as it was good value for money for a couple of days away.
Pull out sofa was unsleepable, with springs being felt through the mattress. The couch itself was very comfortable to sit on, though. The single bed and trundle mattresses were quite thin. There is no air con in the main bedroom, so we couldn't shut the doors for privacy as it was very hot. However, this wouldn't be a problem outside of summer.

Everything! The private room was lovely, so spacious and had everything we could have needed and more especially in the kitchenette area. The bed was SO comfortable and it was a real treat to have a large tv. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and had a great pressure shower. Having a small porch area with tables and chairs was a nice touch too. The pool area was a great place to hang out, the pool was really clean and it was nice to be right near the restaurant and bar area. The reception staff were fantastic, so welcoming and friendly answering all our questions and really attentive. Bus stop outside of the property was really convenient and there’s a small shop about a 5 minute walk for basics if you don’t want to go back to the marina to the IGA.
The only “negative” (and it wasn’t a huge deal breaker for us) was no wifi in the rooms however it was available in the reception area and the bar/restaurant/pool area.

It was my first trip to Magnetic Island and value for money at Amaroo was fantastic. The beauty of their garden is absolutely wonderful and they do a good job looking after the place! First time I stayed in a very nice room - it was spacious, had a small kitchenette and was absolutely lovely. Aircon was really good and I could switch temperature. Loved the spacious bathroom sink space. Outside was a lovely chair and I just loved their lawn in front of the room and I saw so many wallabies and curlews. Staff was super helpful with directions and recommendations. And I actually loved that it's like 10 min walk to a ferry - good time for a walk
Was not a fan of a mattress - it was a bit thin and my thighs hurt after sleeping on this one. Also ceiling fans aren't dusted off. I dusted them off myself (I find it's the one cleanliness issue at the place as I stayed in 2 rooms and they were dirty both times). Also wouldn't mind a small desk so that I can work there. Wifi was inaccessible in the rooms I stayed at - but Netflix was streaming on TV (meaning wifi was connected somehow to TV) - so maybe there were alternative networks aside from those listed for guests. Second room I stayed at wasn't as new and had old aricon that was pumping full time at one level temperature.

The food at the restaurant was fabulous and I was thrilled that there were many gluten free options beyond the usual very basic choices. The service at dinner was terrific. Lovely gardens in the grounds and a nice swimming pool. Quiet location and an easy walk from the ferry, and then only a short walk to the beginning of a beautiful bush walking trail. Bus stops right out front for you. Friendly staff who kindly accommodated a late checkout for us.
Rooms are a bit dated with cheap workmanship. The couple next door were smoking out the front of their room.

Lovely location I stayed in a superior twin room. Room was clean and, spacious . Had everything you need..there is transport at front of the property and a short walk to shops ,cafe and ferry terminal . Love the wildlife very friendly rainbow lorikeets . The magnesium pool was great and the pool area had plenty of sunlounges and love how it's got fake grass ,very inviting.
Restaurant was good but maybe a little more variety in food like burger and chips or even a pizza but I did have the steak and it was lovely.

The room was nice and clean and modern. It was like a studio apartment with a full fridge and a microwave. The pool was really great for getting out of the mid-day heat. We were there during a quiet time of year, but there wasn't really anyone else ever at the pool at the same time as us. The aircon was really nice and the bed was comfy. Lots of wildlife around.
If you don't have a car, the bus doesn't come very often, but it worked out well enough for us once we downloaded the bus timeable. They dropped us at the ferry, so it wasn't much of an issue.

The resort is perfect for families travelling together. We loved that we had all three family rooms together. That the kids had a safe place to play. That we could all gather together without disturbing other guests. Loved that there was a children's playground and pool. Tennis courts were great and all the gorgeous wildlife. Kate is lovely too. We all had the most amazing time.
The only thing I didn't like was that not all rooms were equipped in the same way. My youngest son and his family barely had any catering equipment, whereas our room was fully equipped. We did okay with borrowing things from each other, but I felt like we were in the wrong rooms because they had a young family.

The staff member that greeted us in Reception was so friendly and helpful. We immediately felt welcome. The room was very clean and well appointed. The grounds were full of beautifully maintained garden areas which were home to a variety of native animals and birds. The location of the Motel was away from the hustle and bustle of Nelly Bay Harbor, which added to our feeling very relaxed.
There were limited Car parks available off the street, but in the Resort's defense, there was a Wedding taking place that may have been the reason there were no car parks available.

Quiet and clean.
We arrived back to the motel around 11pm and reception was locked. The motel is fenced off so getting to our room was an ordeal. We eventually found a path on the far side of the property that led to rooms. There was no signs and the path was not lit. It was a miracle we found it. Information about how to access our room when reception is closed would have been helpful.

Affordable rates for a comfy room with a nice bathroom & kitchenette. Wildlife at our doorstep, a bus stop at the property for easy island access. (Although we had a car, so we didn’t need the bus.) Nice facilities and a fantastic pool.
The weather. 😂 It rained for two of our three days unfortunately. But we’ll be back again, and hopefully get lucky next time.
