The indoor swimming pool was great for the kids, even though we were told the day before we arrived that they couldn't fix the heating issue as they were waiting for the parts to arrive from overseas, we were happy as we had a warm ish weekend in Ballarat went we went. The breakfast basket was simple and nice touch. Communication with them were easy and they were responsive. Gave us the necessary information ahead of time and catered for us to check in after hours and set up sofa bed as requested. To be honest we were apprehensive about the booking given some of the negative reviews. But we really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and also see/ experience it for ourselves. People need to understand that this place is an established, refurbished MOTEL in a country town in Victoria and not a 5 star Hotel. With that in mind, as a family of 4 (kids aged 8 and 2) we felt comfortable in our room and the bed sheets were clean and we had working air con. We had a great time staying here and felt the staff did a great job running and maintaining the place. You can hear the trucks at night but it is pretty quiet in general, given that it is just outside of the town city. This motel is walking distance to a few petrol stations and we got ice creams from them. Very convenient. Washing machine & dryer weren't used but looked pretty new and clean. The microwave (new) and fridge are prettyclean. Bathroom and toilet were old but clean and tidy. Check out was easy. Anything we wanted to ask, we could text the mobile number provided and will get a prompt response. This is the most balanced review this place will get! I hope it helps future guests visiting Ballarat! N.B. We stayed at the 1 bedroom apartment No. 6, so our experience can only speak to that room set up and not other configuration. Thanks Iverson and team for the enjoyable weekend.

The TV is pretty basic, so if the kids need some screen time (parents want a break) at the end of an adventurous day out, bring you own iPads as there are free WIFI. The Sofa bed was not comfortable for an adult to sleep on which is common problem for sofabeds after a long period of use. Would recommend a topper if possible to make it more even/ balanced and therefore more comfortable. In terms of the shower head pressure and temperature, it is a bit consistent, so will need some fiddling around and takes some getting used to. Also our room didn't have a hairdryer. Luckily I washed my hair in the morning and could make do without it. I didn't bother texting them for it. I'm sure if I did, they would provide it.

Nothing was a problem for the staff. Everytime we asked a question they were informative and very helpful. The bed was so comfortable. Loved using the pool and it was not packed most days either

The water pressure, it was super hot or super cold

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation, which was perfect for our family as it was conveniently located close to our relatives in Ballarat. This proximity allowed us to spend quality time together over Christmas, making the holiday extra special. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay, offering a warm welcome and consistently checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. They even asked if we required any extras for our room, which was a thoughtful touch. Our kids had a great time enjoying the pool, and it became a highlight of our stay. The room price also included breakfast, which was a simple but satisfying spread of cornflakes, milk, juices, and bread with various spreads perfect for starting the day. The accommodation is conveniently located just off the highway, making it easy to get around, and it’s only a 5-6 minute drive to the nearest Coles supermarket, which was very handy for any last-minute shopping. Overall, it was a lovely, family-friendly place to stay, and we would definitely consider returning.

Iverson at the front desk is very pleasant to deal with. Always with a smile, goes the extra mile to help. The communication by this gentleman was wonderful: even before we arrived, we got a message letting us know that the pool heater was broken, then we got a message when it was fixed. The other staff members are also really friendly. We were given a generous breakfast daily, beyond our expectations. The location is convenient. We loved the Vintage Market next door, there's also a mini golf, a cafe/restaurant nearby & 2 petrol stations. Beautiful gardens nearby. The pool of the motel is large The bed had firm mattresses, extra pillows. There's a small fridge, no freezer. You have a selection of DVDs to borrow from reception, they provide the DVD player. Sheets are changed every 2 days- more frequently than I expected. We stayed for 6 nights, loved our stay & were sad to leave 😞. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍👍

Our room was a bit smaller than I expected. It fitted a double bed and a single bed, but it's a tight fit. No problem for 2 people, but takes a bit to get used to.

The motel or motor inn presented very nicely from the photos and the external. The staff were all lovely, especially Alan Iverson and the maid / housekeeper that worked on 1.1.24 early morning. The bathroom and kitchen were very neat and tidy, clean, I could have cooked a full meal in that lovely kitchen. I love a motel off a highway like this it's classic and looks like something out of the movies..

The pictures, the walls, all need a good wipe down. The bed is broken. Like you cannot expect someone to sleep on that and feel rested ready for the next leg of their trip. It needs chucking. Thats probably the most important thing about a stopover for me is the bed quality. The view from our room was hard waste piles of old pine bedside drawers. The pool tiles could do with a scrub. We also found a pair of baby socks under the bed so little things like that make us wonder how thoroughly the floors are tended to.

Nice simple older style room, clean, good shower. Iverson contacted us as our arrival time was possibly going to be after reception closed and send instructions to access our room as well as information on the facilities and local eateries. We were late but he waited back anyway for us and some other quests also arriving a little late. Heating was turned on for us to arrive into a warm room which was very welcome on a cold and rainy night. Breakfast basket was well received as they are rarely seen these days.

We were very happy with our stay but if I had to say something the bed was a little lumpy but not uncomfortable and one of the electric blankets did not work but certainly not a major issue to us at all.

Our room was pretty clean and tidy. It had appliances such as fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave and who can forget the wonderful air con that helped us warm up the room before bed. The bed was quite comfortable. The on site restaurant was great. Food was a decent serve and prices were affordable. They also had a home made lolly section that I spent way to much money on lol. Was definitely worth it. Staff were friendly at both the hotel and restaurant. We only stayed for one night so didn't see all that the hotel had to offer. We would stay again if we ever find our way back in Ballarat.

The breakfast included isn't quite what I was expecting. On arrival you will find a container of cornflakes, some white bread for toast and the options of butter, Vegemite or strawberry jam. I would suggest to management to ask if there is anyone with diet requirements as not everyone can eat what is on offer. There is however the option of going to the on site restaurant and ordering breakfast. Unfortunately we couldn't have a shower as we are quite tall and don't have fantastic backs lol. The shower in our room was made for short people and we would of had to crouch to wash our hair. We had a spa bath in our room as well but due to personal reasons I was unable to use that as well.

Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and tidy. Looks like they are starting to up date the furniture including new cups, glasses and dishes which is great. Added bonus of bread for toast, condiments, corn flakes/milk and popper juices was a lovely touch. heating was great especially in the chilly Ballarat weather. Not to mention the indoor heated pool, the grandson loved having a swim in.

Beds need updating, from a family of 5, 2 were apparently comfortable. Bathrooms also require an update. Found the tiles in the shower to be a little sharp for the grandsons baby skin so had to sit him on a hand towel. But, they were clean so that's a win in my book

Price, good location to highway as was doing a night tour of Ararat Asylum. Mini golf, restaurant and two petrol stations with take away food/drink just next door. Does have an indoor pool which was nice. It's only 5-mins away by car to Ballarat, so if you don't need to stay in the CBD it's a good place to consider especially if going further afield than Ballarat. Kettle, microwave and breakfast was included (juice poppers, small cereal packs, toast and pieces of fruit) which was nice. The air conditioning was nice too after a hot day out in Ballarat. The bathroom was of an 80s design, but was clean and tidy with a spa bath with jets base and shower combo.

There were cob webs outside the bathroom window which looked like they had been there for quite a while. There was some dust on the skirting boards near the base of the beds. Apart from that, the room was clean and comfortable and we had a good two nights stay.

Friendly service, clean & comfortable room. Complimentary continental breakfast basket was great. Location is good.

The only feedback I have, is regarding where the tea/coffee facilities are. Although it looks very tidy and stylish with the shelving rack in the corner, it wasn’t very practical when trying to make a coffee and use the toaster, as there wasn’t much room and only being able to plug in one at a time to the double adapter where the aircon was.
