Located amidst the Saariselkä village. All restaurants, shops and rental agencies are nearby - within walking distance. Easy to start your day trips straight from the hotel - whether by walking or e.g. by bikes. Local restaurant offer a great and varying breakfast with everything from porridge to fruits, breads, bacon, sausages, etc. The restaurant also offers delicious a la carte dinners with a selection of local meats (reindeer, elk) and fish (salmon, trout, rainbow trout). Reindeers also patrol the nearby yards and streets so prepare to meet new friends!

Only two charging spaces available for electric or hybrid cars. Could be a problem on peak season. Also the parking space in total sort of feels abundant but fills quickly when there is more people present. Could also be a problem on peak season.

Everything was as advertised. It is a great hotel. It provides what it promises. The a la carte restau is great! Extra points for that. The location so close to the ski resort is a good asset. Walking distance.

The place could do with a renovation. It might justify the price then. All in all, a good stay.

I loved everything about this trip. Your staff was wonderful and the front desk ladies were more than helpful! Breakfast was wonderful, as well as getting on the bus daily was so easy. I would suggest this hotel to anyone.

The staff are helpful, good location, close to nature trails, my room was specious and had a balcony. Breakfast was OK.

The hotel and rooms are dated. The orange carpets in the hallways look totally worn out. The hotel could be really nice after some refurbishing.

The hotel is situated nicely and the rooms are large and quiet, each has a balcony, too. The breakfast is delicious and the buffet arranged according to the needs of the pandemic situation. We have been at the Riekonlinna various times and this time was as pleasant as expected save from some details during the breakfast.

Most of the guests we encountered during the breakfast did not care for keeping distance or covering mouth and nose while not at their tables. This is all the more weird as normally I experienced Finns (we seemed to be the only foreigners this morning) as being very keen on keeping their personal space (which exceeds the personal space Central Europeans prefer to have) wherever they go. The staff in the breakfast restaurant likewise was not as professional in regards of hygiene in pandemic as I had expected it from earlier stays.

Amenities could need some updating. The water in from the shower would spread outside the shower area before running back to the drain.

Very good breakfast and cleaning service. We had a suite for a family of 4. The view was nice (trees behind the hotel). Next to hiking trails. Good playroom for children.

The room definitely needs to be refurbished. The style is 80s or 90s and bathroom is too old for such an hotel! Absolutely the price is too high but there are not so many turistic structures and you can’t have any choice.

Excellent location and walkable distance to the ski resort, hiking, cross country skiing, sledding. Good selection of food at breakfast buffet. Aurora Borealis viewing room included. Staff are to commend - please give my many thanks to the woman at reception who acted quickly to help me retrieve my backpack which I had forgotten on the intercity bus which included my laptop, wallet, and passport - she saved my holiday from disaster!

No telephones in the room to call front desk. Even though the shower had a glass door, a lot of water still leaked through and wet the whole bathroom floor.

I liked everything at the apartment. The location was great. The bus to the airport and Ivalo stops in front of hotel and you can easily walk to the ski resort and many trails. A tour company is located at the same building so you can easily get information and book tours. I booked an apartment which was clean and cozy. It has a private sauna facility that we very much enjoyed after outdoor activities. Also, it has a balcony where we can enjoy the fresh air. Also, the breakfast was great and staff were kind. I definitely stay here again!

Great value for money. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a sauna in our room which was excellent. The staff were all friendly. Its in a great location to really explore saariselka. Lots of choice for breakfast, and we had a great buffet meal for dinner.
