Very friendly staff. The rooms are all mixed, but after initially being placed in a room where I was the only woman with 9 men, one of the receptionists arranged for me to move into a room that had other women in it. The beds are already made for you. The bathrooms are private.

Some of the top bunks don’t have safety railings which feels a little unsafe if you are a restless sleeper.

The location was great. Kitchen clean and well organized. The washrooms were roomy and clean. Did not feel like a group washroom. Met lots of great people from around the world.

The mattress on the floor made it a little difficult to get out of. The mattress could be upgraded. A chair in the bedroom could assist in getting dressed in the many layers you need for Iceland. Lockers that could lock on them. There was at least 3 nights with no staff at night. Security could have been better. Feed a homeless man that was looking through the kitchen then sent him on his way. But how did he get in the first place. More information on what was happening in the community for new years. The tours from the Bus Station were great but when travellers found out their tour was at BSI instead made for a lot of anxiety. I am sure the staff get tired of having to explain the mistake and offer to call a taxi.

The cleaning staff are absolutely exceptional. the minute I would step out of the shower, they would be in there with a mop cleaning up the floors of all the water. They also cleaned up constantly after guests who seemed to think the rules didn't apply to them and that they could just leave their dirty dishes and leftover food scraps wherever they felt like. The cleaning staff are the standout of this place!! The bed was comfy, the rooms were nice.

Look, it's a bus hostel, so there's buses constantly coming and going outside, so if you are in a front room, you are going to have to deal with some noise. It's not too bad, but if you are a light sleeper, this could be a deal breaker for you.

Very well ran Hostel. Hour room didnt have its own bathroom but they have so many outside that it rlly didnt matter. Also they have a very nice and well equiped kitchen which they surprisingly manage to keep clean and organized given the huge number of guests constantly coming and going. Staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean room.

Only very small complaints but for some reason a lot of the electricity sockets dont work properly, the one in our room did work but it was the only one and it was far away from the beds. Also although the room was clean and smelled good for some reason one of the blankets we had came with a funky smell in it, maybe they crammed too many of them together in the washmachine and they werent able to clean properly bc the other one was fine and it clearly smelled like it was cleaned.

Very comfortable overall. Lots of seating in and around the kitchen, great for meeting people. The kitchen was stocked really well facilities (fridges, oven, microwave, hob, storage) and utilities (cutlery, cooking stuff). The bathrooms are nice and big but you have to wait during busy times. The staff were lovely and really helped transportation-wise

its pretty far from the city centre but still walkable / accessible by scooter. There was a lot of snoring in the room, but I managed fine with earplugs and a sleeping mask. The lockers in the rooms are also a bit small and don't lock properly

Hostel was clean in the dorm rooms, communal areas. The staff especially the Portuguese guy(Giorgio/Diego) forgot name. He was super warm and helpful with all our enquiries. He made it even better!! Thank you to him. The hostel serves as a bus terminal which is great to get to and from the airport and to different tours. I thought 10 bed dorm would be overwhelming however it wasn't. There are plenty bathrooms too. Also I met great people. I highly recommend.

I prefer improvements, there is one light in the room. This means whoever comes in wakes is everyone. That is it

I had a wonderful stay at the Bus Terminal Hostel in Reykjavík, Iceland. The location is perfect, just a few minutes away from the city center. The airport buses and day tour buses to various tourist attractions in Iceland depart right from the front of the hostel, which is incredibly convenient. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and understanding. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the excellent cleanliness and the superb kitchen facilities available. I highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Reykjavík!

However, I would recommend the addition of some services such as towels and shower amenities to enhance the overall experience.

Pros: - the location is excellent as the bus stops here from the airport and the local sights (25-30 minute walk to restaurants, 1 hour walk to Sky Lagoon) and it's extremely safe and convenient - friendly and helpful staff (24/7) - staff are able to book tours/transportation for you at the front desk - the price is one of the most economical for comparable hostels in the area

What could be improved: - adding curtains to the beds would add value/privacy, especially for travellers wanting to sleep during the day and for the long daylight hours during the summer - installing power outlets for each bed would be ideal as currently there is one outlet between four beds which isn't enough if you need to charge your phone at night - the lockers are school locker-sized (I had to take items out of my 35 L backpack to make it fit and even then had to squeeze it in) with weak locking mechanisms and they only fit small locks (you must bring your own) - the room was stuffy and I'd recommend opening the window or the door during the day to air it out

I have been living in this hostel for two months so, believe me, I got to know it really well. The hostel is really nice, rooms are fine (hostel beds but what can you expect, right?), everything is quite clean, kitchen is quite complete, not bad at all. But if there is something that makes this hostel outstands or make your stay worth, that will be the STAFF. Everyone tried to help me since the beggining, they are really nice and professionals. Nice people and nice workers. So, shoutout to Manuel, Elizabeth, Diogo, Elisa, Nikola, Clara... and all the rest (they know who they are) that made my long stay in there warmer and peaceful. You are the soul of the hostel, thank you.
