Close to the city Center. Spacious room. Helpful guide and instructions pre-arrival

Doors for room and shared bathroom close loudly so we had to be extra careful and gentle as we arrived late in the night. No lift either so we have to lug our luggages up and down. For those with luggages, suggest to book transfer to hotel even from bus station as the walk is uphill and strenuous with 20kg luggages

Clean, warm room. Coat hooks and hangers. Lots of handy shelves and place for luggage. Curtains and roller blind meant no problem sleeping during light nights. Very comfortable beds. Initial disappointment at lack of tea/coffee making facilities was far outweighed by convenience of using well-equipped kitchen spaces with kettles, fridges, hob or microwave plus crockery and cutlery. Location excellent for reaching wide range of sights on foot. Staff friendly and helpful.

Small thing but affected comfort during the week - only one chair for two of us. Not comfortable eating/drinking on bed so one sat on little bench. Would be nice to have two chairs wth backs. Also a plug in the washbasin would have been good when washing hands and face (and save water). You dont want a shower every time you wash your face. Small things, but would help.

Great guesthouse right across from the famous church -Hallgirmskirkja . I could see the church straight out my window while lying in a very comfortable bed. Great comforter. The Sunna was perfect in every way. Very clean, shared bathrooms and showers too, very quite. Very close to all the Reykjavík attractions and museums, walkable everywhere including all the shopping, dining , coffee and traditional Icelandic markets you could ask for and close to the harbor and the Perlan Museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any directions or recommendations. This place gets a 10 all the way. I stayed 4 nights and will stay again when I return to glorious Iceland 🇮🇸!!

Absolutely Nothing !

Room just like the photos. Very tidy, well heated and hot water available 24/7 without an issue. I note a previous review complaining about an egg/sulphur like smell to the hot water. This is indeed there but a very quick google shows this is common across Iceland, especially in Reykjavik. The location is superb with you being a 10 minute walk at maximum from all the central locations and a 1 minute walk from a popular bus stop for tours and airport shuttles. Excellent wifi. Great daily breakfast (cold) with lots of options. Very helpful reception staff. Very short walk to local swimming pool which is excellent to attend in the early morning!

Nothing of note

Guesthouse is in a great location just by the Hallgrimskirkja church and a 12 minute walk to the bus station. I booked it because I had a very early flight and wanted to be able to walk to the bus station to get the very early bus to the airport. I booked the basic single room which did not have an en-suite bathroom. I would have preferred an en-suite but there were none available when I booked, but for the two nights I was there sharing was not an issue. There were four rooms sharing the bathroom and kitchen area, but I only saw one other guest in our space so perhaps the rooms were not all in use when I was there. I never had to wait and the bathroom was very clean all times. The shared kitchen are was likewise spotless and well equipped - I only used it for making a sandwich and a cup of tea, but there were facilities to cook a full meal if you wanted. The basic single room was small but was fine for what I needed, I didn’t spend much time in it other than sleeping. Bed was comfy. I arrived after the reception had closed but was sent clear instructions by email and text and it was easy to get let in and collect my key. Overall a comfortable, well managed guesthouse in a great location.

There was some noise from other room doors opening and closing during the night - that is to be expected in a guesthouse though and earplugs did the trick

So close to Bus Stop No. 8, made it so easy for any of the excursions and Flybus return to the airport. Also central to the main centre around Hallgrimskirke. I did not have the breakfast because I normally eat late morning, so I ate out early lunchtime. The room was warm and the radiator adjustable. The shared bathroom facilities was acceptable as it was a closed arrangement of three bedrooms, plus a well equipped kitchenette, maximum 5 people using the area.

On one particular day, the room immediately above, had occupants who repeatedly scraped several chairs over the floor instead of lifting and moving the chairs on the wooden flooring, presumably as they sat at a table to eat and then get up during the meal and again afterwards. This occurred late in the evening as I was trying to get some sleep prior to departing early the next morning for the airport.

The place is very clean, quiet and peaceful. My room was only intended as a short stay before and early flight but was pleasantly surprised at how spacious, clean and we'll equipped it was. Location couldn't have been better and they were helpful with a late check in. Beds and sheets were comfortable.

It feels a bit like a college dorm with shared kitchens and bathrooms in the middle and rooms all around the outside. Every time I tried to use a bathroom it was occupied. When I did get to use one it was very clean once but not much the second time. The price for what you get does seem high - but it's Iceland - and I think some little touches like tea and coffee available in the shared kitchen would have been nice.

Location was perfect, on a quiet street but near everything, parking on site even though it was a tight squeeze for our small SUV, everything was very clean. Housekeeping staff was very friendly, as was reception.

No elevator in the building we stayed in (next door to the reception building), so you have to carry your suitcases up, and also the upper floors (at least in this building) would not be accessible to anyone who cannot take stairs. Everything was a little bit dated, but not out of the norm for what we saw in Iceland. The overhead light in our room did not work, and the shared shower in our suite was handheld but did not stay in its holster on the wall, so you had to hold it the whole time.

I arrived after the Guesthouse's normal working hours but they had sent clear instructions for entering the building and collecting my key from a safe. Everything worked smoothly and I was grateful to them managers for being so well organised. The Guesthouse is a one-minute walk from the famous Hallgrimskirkja church and is surrounded by a number of pleasant cafés and restaurants. It is also a walkable distance from the central bus station.

My room was very close to a communal kitchen area that was sometimes a bit noisy.

This place was amazingly clean! The room was basic but had everything you needed and it was great to have a small sink in the room to brush teeth and wash your face without having to go to the bathrooms. The place was relatively quiet during the evenings and mornings which was lovely. The shared areas (toilets, showers and kitchen) were all really clean and tidy and I never found it difficult to get access to them. The reception staff were also really welcoming and friendly.

Two minor complaints: 1. room doors don't automatically lock when you leave so unless you check you could easily leave your room unlocked for the day. 2. the hot water smells like sulphur... think this has something to do with Iceland using geothermal heat to heat their water. Although perfectly clean, it was rather off putting when having a shower. I had read another review along similar lines before i stayed so wasn't massively surprised by this.
