I cannot text in Japanese correctly in this box, so I do it in English. The room was spacious, and my wife snd I enjoyed a variety of hot springs including private ones.

I had paid already the room charge through Booking. com, but the front mistakenly charged it again When checking out. It was a big mistake. The hotel has to educate the front stuff. This is very important, so someone should translate into Japanese, and tell the hotel and the front stuff.

Serene, authentic, and classy, this place has it all. It is criminally good value for the money. The keiseki dinner and breakfast were out of this world, probably the best meals I’ve ever had in my two trips to Japan (I’m fussy). A particular shout out to a staff member called Bhesh, a lovely Nepalese man who was extremely kind and helpful, I hope the hotel is rewarding him well for his excellent work.

Beautiful property and rooms set in gorgeous grounds. Delicious kaiseki dinners and traditional breakfasts, very comfortable suite plus option of onsens, including private ones with indoor and outdoor pools. Excellently located for accessing Kamikochi and Takayama. Easy to locate with google maps and good parking

Loved our onsen escape! Such a gorgeous location - like being transported to another world. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast and dinners were such a unique and special Japanese experience. The onsens were relaxing and all had beautiful outlooks.

The facilities are getting dated - there could be a little renovation to say the onsen buildings but the onsens themselves are clean and beautiful.

Everything was perfect - the room was decorated really well, the onsen facilities are amazing and the food - omg the food - you need to be hungry and have good appetite as they are sublime and abundance. The service was exceptional and they looked after us so well We will come back for sure 💯

We love the hospitality. The kindness and education of the staff. The place is stunning. There is such a traditional atmosphere. Rooms were excellent. As well as the onsens. Dinner was outstanding. I have personally never eaten so much! It was a shame we only stayed there only for one night.

Nothing.

Really friendly staff, and the food is fantastic. A shame that we didn't arrive at the property sooner to really take advantage of all they had to offer. Got to try pounding mochi in the morning!

Because food is cooked with irori, if you're a bit sensitive to the smell of smoke you might not have a great time.

Rustic feels which transported us back in time. The staff were friendly and explained everything well. There are several locations for the onsens, and we enjoyed the ones next to the river best. Food was good generally, and we sat round the fire. The rooms were on the warm side.

All is well

Very tasty - and extremely Japanese - meals. Staff spoke enough English to communicate basics. Baths are very nice.

Room was above the kitchen, so it was possible to smell wood and charcoal smoke before meals.

We love and enjoyed open air Onsen with Riverview, it was fabulous, even the kids love it as well. Traditional Japanese-style Dinner and breakfast were amazing.

Transport is very limited, maybe property should provide Shuttle Bus from Hirayu or near by. But we were fine.
