The staffs are so friendly. I got a warm welcome like I stay with Japanese family. They did every things such as receptionist at a lobby, serving the foods, making the bed. There’s not much people around so you can feel peacefully and pretty private. - Dinner and breakfast was so good and a lot of foods came including hida beef. There are 3 private onsen rooms, men and women public bathroom with indoor and outdoor onsen - Good location and have private parking

- There’s no private shower room inside the room, so if you want to take a shower, you need to go the public bath on the first floor only - No elevator from parking floor to the lobby. I went there with a large luggage so i need to carried it up the stairs with a heavy weight.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoy authentic Japanese style meals and hot spring. The family run this hotel with a lot of thoughtful care and hospitality. The traditional Japanese meals were authentic and served with fresh Hilda beef and local vegetables. As a hot spring lover, the hot spring were beyond expectation. There are private room and shared room for hot spring, and they all have great view of quiet forest. (It was snowy the day I came, and the experience of bathing hot spring in a snowy forest was superb.) The owners are very friendly and kind!

The facility is relatively old (but very well-maintained). We still enjoy our stay a lot.

I loved staying at Yunohirakan! The staff was so lovely and kind, I felt very welcomed. The room was very comfortable with a nice big window. The traditional meals served were very good. I don't eat meat and they got me a good alternative. We booked Yunohirakan because it was located near the bus terminal for Kamikochi. If you want to visit Kamikochi I would recomend staying here as it makes the commuting time easy as it is a 30 minutes bus ride to Kamikochi.

The onsens/hot baths are not super comfortable as they are facing the wild and there are bears on the area, it would be nice to have some kind of a fence between the onsen and the forest to make it feel more comfortable and not soo scary at night. The water looked a bit dirty but I'm unsure if it is because of it being natural.

I would highly recommend to take their breakfast and dinner set. They provide high quality Japanese ingredients, and very generous portions! The lady boss carefully explained each dish in English and Japanese, and also the method to consume the food. They have 3 private onsens availble, with different sizes. Very suitable for all types of travelling parties, family, couples, solo traveller etc.

Amenities for onsen were very basic. I have been to other onsens where they provide high quality skin care products which was not found in the resort. I think this is very important for the ladies.

An excellent place to stay. Food was excellent and facilities were great. The private onsens was the main reason we decided to stay here. They had a small, medium and large private onsens on top of the public baths that were available. Very easy to access and the perfect getaway for myself and the wifey!

It was just as advertised. The town is a bit remote, but expected. Google maps had an incorrect picture of the ryokan and made it slightly confusing when we checked in.

Amazing breakfast and dinner that catered for our vegetarian needs. Very nice onsen with high quality water from different sources. The friendliness of the staff is exceptional.

The private onsen could be advertised better and was a little dark/basic. The room was functional, a decent Japanese Style room, but not extraordinary. No shower in room, futon was a little thin - not a negative for us, just good to know.

Amazing service and amazing meals!! For such a good price I did not expect to get so much food for dinner and experience such a nice, clean well-kept ryokan. There are 3 private onsens which are very easy to reserve. Very spacious onsens and was great for my partner and I who have tattoos. The host was also very friendly and made a lot of effort to converse with us and my limited Japanese. I really enjoyed my stay here and would love to go back!

The staff was very helpful and patient. The dinner was an amazing experience. The private onsens were a lovely option for relaxing. Looking forward to returning here in the future.

I have no complaints, though my partner did find the traditional futon bedding to be a bit hard for her liking.

Quiet, relaxing stay. We really enjoyed the onsens including the private outdoor ones that couples could use. Food was wonderful, some of the best we’ve had on our trip, with friendly service

Minor quibble - the futon was a bit thin and the pillow really hard and uncomfortable - usually I enjoy sleeping on a futon

Very nice place with traditional, but spacious room, exceptional breakfast and dinners, nice onsen which is empty in the evening and you can have a private session. Very friendly staff who speak English well and even recommend activities during the stay

At September 2023 there we constructions site close to the hotel which was a bit laud at day time
