We stayed in October/2024, the room was comfortable because it was spacious, fireplace made our stay cozy. The two recliners were a nice surprise and comfy which made it great to relax on after a long day of adventure. We did not use the kitchen but it was nice to know it was there if needed. The small fridge was essential for left over food. Loved the dressing room and restroom separate from the bedroom. Loved it so much that we booked the room again for a trip this December.

The room above us was busy ( people coming and going pretty much all night). We heard foot steps back and forth and sounded like moving furniture most of the night.

Friendly staff, VERY clean room, surprisingly comfortable beds, and free parking! The location is phenomenal, just across the street to the buzzy Solvang downtown (much appreciated in busy seasons when it's impossible to find parking anywhere in town).

The property is (and looks) very dated, floors creaky, etc... No restaurant or food on premise (breakfast pastries were great though). Now, for the price, the location, the free parking, the shockingly comfortable beds and cleanliness, the "negatives" are nothing more than a detail. Our second stay here, and won't mind coming back for more.

The swimming Pool.

This hotel has always been my first choice. Breakfast was disappointing this time. 1 plate of Danish. Nothing else. We were there for three nights. After the first night the towels were not changed. That was our own fault; we stayed in the room for a long time. But even after the second night, no towels were changed, toilet paper and no coffee. It later turned out that the back of the sign "do not disturb" also contained text. "Please clean the room." We weren't told that. Still, we had a wonderful stay

The room was great. The fireplace was wonderful to wake up to. The two recliners were great to relax in. The building itself had a dated look to it that made it look warm and fuzzy. However, the "breakfast" was something that was left to be desired. I love Danishes. However, I also do not like coming down to the office to see a box holding Danishes that have the "grease" soaked into it. They were hard and were the day old (or older) rejects from a local bakery. They were so hard (how hard were they?) that I took two each day and then painted them black and I am currently using them for Hockey pucks for my team. It may seem like a minor point but a nicer display (put them on a tray) along with a coffee pot and condiments for coffee would have gotten them a much higher rating. Overall, it was worth the money for the room and the staff. I would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself.

Danishes

I love how our room was spacious. The bed is super comfortable. Loved the fireplace. The couch was nice and comfy. We had the perfect location, we would start from our end of the Inn and walk down to the other end so you didn't miss any shops and our windows had the perfect view of the town. Place was very quiet, cozy, cute and enjoyable.

The cleaning solution they used could be tone done a bit. The chemical smell is very over powering. I think the cleaning ladies are over using the product. It smelled very strong and it lingered for days.

I was surprised by the huge size of the room for the cost. It was in walking distance of the town. The room was really quiet, even though it was full, I didn't even hear people in the rooms next to me. I read in the reviews about it being run down and needed updated, I liked the 'folksier" look. Very comfy. Was very hot there, wished I had brought my swimsuit.

When I checked in, the girl gave me a map for my room and directed me to either use the elevator, which would have me walk clear around the upstairs to my room or stairs in the back that had me walk all the way from the back to the front. I don't know why she didn't tell me about the stairs that were just a couple of doors down from my room. The AC unit was on the noisy side. The coffee maker, in the kitchen sat on top of the microwave on a cart that was against the wall. The coffee maker wasn't plugged in, so I had to move the cart to get to the plug. And yes, the carpet needed shampooing, but the room looked clean and was quite comfortable.

I love staying at Svendgards. We stay here every time we come to Solvang. Perfect location, big rooms, and clean. The staff is always nice.

No Coffee :( this was a huge bummer. They advertise breakfast included but had a plate of Danish (which were great and from a local bakery) but that's all and no coffee. There is little coffee packets in the room but it's awful. I wish they'd bring back fresh coffee.

A perfect location to visit downtown Slovang with a family. Step away from the festivities.Huge room with two queen bed and a living room with two recliners and huge area for the kids to play. Outside had a balcony overlooking the downtown area. Super clean pool and hot tub

Dated hotel could use some upgrades.Beds a little hard but for my liking. It’s a step up from a value type hotel chains.However, the value for the location was well worth sacrifice of modern convenience. Steps away from food and coffee shops

Spacious pretty comfortable beds just caved in the middle of the mattress you can tell they’ve been worn but other than that I’m happy they stuck with the polish style cabin vibe super cool!

Some things were a little outdated and could be replaced the carpet definitely needs a steam clean because there was a lot of random hair on the floor and smelled moldy but other than that it was good enough for my family and I

Conveniently located, the lodge shows a bit of wear but overall was a very nice play to stay. The room was clean and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed, two sinks and a nice shower. The room seemed to have been updated within the past few years and a hard floor kept things a bit cleaner than with carpet. Fresh danish were in the lobby each morning.

Spa was not working. Web site is a bit misleading since there is no breakfast served.
