The beach in front of this hotel is amazing. Crystal clear water and white sand. Relatively gentle water (easy to float in). The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very easy to find and is close to the airport and to the city center via taxi/rental car. It’s a very quiet area with no nightlife nearby so no need to worry about noise keeping you up at night. Excellent value for the price.

The hotel is clean, but it’s getting a bit old and could benefit from a remodel. For example, the tiles were very stained in the shower. Although it is cosmetic, it’s definitely noticeable. The beds are not bad, but also not great. The breakfast was fine, but nothing to write home about. There is a Westin next door with a very similar beach. If you want something a little more upgraded I’d recommend the Westin.

Clean and cozy rooms. Good drinks in beach bar. Conditioner and bodylotion in the room. Very good place to swim. The breakfast was good.

Quite expensive Hotel has made deal with taxis about pricing. We came to hotel by taxi (100 peso), but back taxi was 150 pesos (he said they have agreed price with hotel!). Some guests reserved sunbeds early in the morning even they didn't come to the beach for several hours.

Staff was friendly! Great little beach access and palapas to sit under! Breakfast was great and so was the on sight restaurant- typical Mexican/American fair.

I’m not sure why this is, but I’ve been coming to Cozumel for 21 years, annually. I’ve never had a bed that wasn’t hard as a rock, like no give, none! Almost like sleeping on plywood with a thin topper. I wake up sore and achy every morning. I’ve stayed in rental house and probably 6 or 7 different hotels on the island and this is a problem every year. Something I’m use to now, but I’ve always wondered why. So, just be prepared.

The room we had was very accommodating and very comfortable. The beds were great, high quality linens, and extra towels in the bathroom. The ocean view was wonderful, the deck was very nice. We had the best breakfast every morning. Staff at breakfast were always there for anything. Coffee was always good. The beach and palapas were very cool. The over all value is hard to beat. We had read many Playa Azul reviews before making our reservation for valentines week. As always there are the people that pick out details that have little to do with overall enjoyment. We found nearly everything was as expected or better. We love Cozumel, and now we love Playa Azul! Can't wait to get back to our now favorite hotel!!!

We loved our stay at Playa Azul! The staff was friendly and helpful, our room was so comfortable and we loved how it over looked the ocean, we felt safe as there was someone at the entrance checking each car in and out, the breakfast was amazing, and we loved the little private beach. I would definitely stay at Playa Azul again!

The staff at this hotel are amazing. The best in all of the places we visited in Mexico. We got a beautiful room and loved to snorkel right outside the hotel. It felt very safe and I would definitely come back to this hotel.

It was impossible to get sun bed in the morning because it was already full very early in the morning.

Nice location with good facilities and pool. The beach also just there but we did not stay as we went diving further. It is about 10min drive from town center (150MX$ in a taxi from the ferry pier). Check-in and checkout was very easy and staff friendly. They also offers rental cars and there is a dive shop on the premises to book diving/snorkeling (it was closed when we stayed due to high wind). The suite was spacious and clean with good air con and fridge/kitchen. A small terrace with some furniture which you could seat just outside the pool. Breakfast was great, buffet type with an egg station where they cook eggs however you like. Parking is available on the hotel property if you want to rent a car. Great stay and would recommend.

Not much really. It is further out from the town centre so not much around (shops, restaurants, bars) but didn't bothered us.

We chose this hotel due to its location in a good swimming/snorkeling area and being removed from the busy town. We were so happy to be able to step right out to the wonderful clear water and not have the noise of town nearby. Their beach area spreads out further than we thought so there was enough room for everyone, and servers would come to our loungers to see if we needed any drinks or food, but no pressure if we didn't want anything. Our room had a gorgeous view on the top floor with a wonderful high ceiling. The bed is comfy and the decor is classic Mexico with nice touches. Breakfast was very nice! Make sure to bring a little cash for tip as although its free, they do a great job.

We found that due to the breeze we didn't need a/c, but I think the people below us had it blasting as we would often find the tile floor at the back of the room soaking wet and had to put towels down to prevent from falling. I thankfully moved my laptop that I had on the towel floor before it got to it! The pier is perfect for swimming off of (beach entry is ok as well), but it desperately needs updating for safety reasons as it is slippery and falling apart. This wouldn't stop us from going back though, which we plan on doing!

Breakfast buffet every morning was delicious and something we looked forward to every day! Great snorkeling right off the beach! Staff was great. . . very polite and accommodating. Location of Azul lends itself to quiet relaxation!

I'm concerned that on certain days of the week, the beach area on both sides of Playa Azul is becoming overrun with cruise ship tourists. Wave runners, speed boats ,paddle boards are being used by adjacent properties to provide excursion activities. It gets pretty hectic on the beach at certain times of the day. I guess there's nothing Playa Azul can do about the increase of people??? At least it quiets down in late afternoon and on Sunday throgh Tuesday

The staff was amazing, friendly, and very helpful with arranging a taxi. Top-notch service, the bartenders even knew our orders by just looking at us after the first day and what room to charge it to. The dive shop was close by and we were able to get the boat right outside of the hotel. Buccanos is also very close and an excellent evening cocktail or dinner place.

We were there in April, which is a slower time in Cozumel so the dive shop wasn't open as much as we had hoped, which didn't matter in the end because we had some windy days and the small boat harbor was closed so we wouldn't have been able to dive anyhow. And maybe the dive shop was closed because the small boat harbor was too.
