• Beautiful large room (Premium King Suite with Fireplace) facing north overlooking the garden and wonderful views. • Comfortable seating and table/chairs were great. • It was wonderful to have access to a guest laundry. However, fellow travelers might benefit from a reminder of the basic etiquette of shared facilities!! Using all the machines and then leaving for the day is not on!! • Limited amount of places to hang clothes.

Excellent location for all of the activities available at Franz Josef. The room was very spacious with everything you could require provided. A very comfortable large double bed, sitting area with a cosy flame effect electric fire, complete with two very comfortable arm chairs, small dining area/desk and a spacious bathroom. The buffet breakfast had a good variety of items and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The main lady in charge was particularly helpful, especially when I discovered a large king sized throw stuck in one of the washing machines which on removable left the machine filthy. She very kindly cleaned it for me so My clothes weren’t contaminated by it. Strangely enough, on enquiring if any guest had claimed it, the answer was No. The view over the garden “Oasis” to the mountains was wonderful. A very relaxing place to stay and for its location, great value for money

Lovely room with view out over gardens and pond, and what was probably beautiful scenery which due to the weather we could not see. The included continental style breakfast was very nice. The young German lady Fransisca who appeared to do everything at the hotel was really lovely, helpful and friendly, a great front of house asset.

It was out of town, which was peaceful, but you do have to drive to get to town. However the restaurant we dined at offered a free pick up/drop off service which was really good.

We liked the breakfast and the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. and the hotel was a very short drive to Franz Josef itself.

The word "Hotel" was a little misleading, but I think the concept probably doesn't have a conventional term. Hotel suggests staff 24/7 and lounge/bar facilities, which, of course, Oasis does not. However, once we realised what was on offer, we were happy.

Francesca was an exceptional host. She was very friendly, receptive to our questions and offered many recommendations. Breakfast was nice and fresh . The distance to town was short, excellent host! Beautiful view

Francesca was nice enough to change our room to a more desirable room with a better view. The room was clean however there were greasy hand prints on the slider door and adjacent windows. I think it was just overlooked by the house cleaning team.

no waste bin near tea making facility only in the bathroom. no table and chairs to sit out when sunny outside the room. advices to put sign out to clean room before 10am. sign was put out at 8.15am but was not cleaned. I had to go over and see manager to replace towels and fresh milk because cleaning staff had finished for the day. we did nip back late morning to pick some stuff up and cleaning staff was cleaning next room to ours so can’t understand how they missed our room.

I would recommend this property in a heartbeat! Spacious room and spacious bathroom; comfortable king bed; exceptionally clean; very quiet even next to Highway 6; the host was pleasant and informative; a great value. It was nice to have two easy chairs by the mock fireplace.

The instant coffee selection was a bit of a disappointment but it actually tasted better than I expected.

It’s a little bit out of town (which didn’t bother me), but might bother others. It had a slightly deserted feel to the place. Breakfast room was a bit drab, but if the weather had been better would have had breakfast on the desk, which would be really nice.

The view was gorgeous. The room a great size and loved the fire if it was a chilly evening. The young girl running the motel was so lovely. She was friendly, chatty and ran the motel so well. Breakfast always set out so well too. Thank you to her! The motel has a shuttle service which was excellent as you are a little way out of town.

It was quiet. We could watch the bird life without leaving our room and no one looking in. Only 5-7 minutes drive from the township but felt isolated. Lovely room, linen, bath, breakfast!

The noisy extractor fan in the bathroom which had a delayed turn off.
