The unit had everything they we needed. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had been renovated, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, pots, toaster, jug, two burner hot plate and microwave. Everything was clean and tidy. We could park the car under cover right outside our unit which was great as it rained overnight. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

Lovely location! Very clean and very friendly/helpful staff. The motel itself is a little on the dated side, however, it was impeccably clean, safe, had everything that we needed and was good value for money.

Our first impression was that the place was a bit run down but the view of the glacier made up for any lack of outdoor care. The room was very nice (2 rooms), clean and comfortable. We stayed 2 nights and liked that we were out of the town noise (helicopters) and crowds.

The grounds were not as nice as they could have been. No flowers in pots and weeds in gardens and driveway.

This was about all that was left at a reasonable price when we booked and based on the ratings we didn't have very high expectations. But we were really happy with the unit which was a very spacious, clean and tidy and homely stand-alone unit with attached carport. Location was excellent and nice and quiet and full kitchen meant we were able to self-cater.

Staff's poor English made it difficult to communicate. No sign of any housekeeping during our 5 night stay. Though they happily replaced toilet paper and linen when we went over to office. Oven in a recess resulting in a couple of bumped heads!

Very helpful staff, we were met and greeted on arrival, and nothing was too much trouble - very happy to stay here and to recommend to others

... Previous reviews complained about the WiFi.... No it wasn't great, but then you're in the middle of a mountain range / valley, so surely only to be expected...🤷

This 1950s/60s motel was very clean & comfortable for our one night stay. We had everything we needed ie:hot plate, microwave, fridge, kettle & toaster; the bed was comfortable. It was great to be able to park right outside the door & we were only a couple of minutes from town. The staff were friendly & efficient. Excellent value for money.

The hotel was clean but very basic ( to be expected for the price ) . It was excellently situated, as we had a car. Initially we arrived at the hotel in appalling weather, we thought the room was a little dark. We noticed the bulb was broken and told the lady at reception, immediately her colleague arrived in the pouring rain to replace the bulb . Cant fault that. The next day the weather changed and the room and indeed the hotel site was bright and rather more attractive .

It is conveniently located a few km north of Franz Josef. The facilities are old motel-style and a little tired. The apartments are very large, with separate bedrooms, well-appointed kitchens, and renovated bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. The Glacier View Motel is good for money and worth a stay.
