Absolutely everything was in order. I reccomended this place to my parents! They might visit next year. Great location, friendly staff, hygienic and also nice breakfast buffet.

I won't take off any stars for this, but I was slightly annoyed by smoking staff members from another hotel/company. They used the side of vila baleira to stand there and smoke their stinking sigarets. But as said before, this is not vila baleira's fault or doing.

The breakfast was very poor. Vegetables dont was nothing!! The boiled eggs was durty ( didnt was and was chicken pooh on them) the omlett smells bad like a fish…. Every days same… Coffe was like a water, served in a teapot..

Everything was great!

The rooms were really comfortable and nice. Our room was excellent. Our kid's room didn't have a renovated bathroom which was a minor inconvenience. Also their airconditioning unit was a little more troublesome. It worked OK but had some issue when the balcony door sensor didn't work correctly. We liked the breakfast, enough choice of continental en English breakfast. Lovely pool area

The hotel lacks a pleasant atmosphere, us Dutch wouldn't call it 'gezellig'. The staff could try to make it a little more lively, make sure the pool bar is always staffed, a little back ground music. Some plants in the breakfast room and hallways would do a lot towards it being a top hotel and increase revenue. Also the hallway carpets should be replaced, they are dirty.

The location: close to supermarkets, bus stops en shops. Private parking at the hotel. A must as parking space is limited in the area. The room: spacious with a nice balcony. The swimming pool and relax area on the rooftop. Breakfast was okay, basic and with all the essentials. For a stay of a week it may lack variety.

The flat pillows. We did kindly receive another set after mentioning it to the staff, but it did not did the trick. But this is a personal preference. The bathroom was not very clean. It needed a full clean. Although the staff was kind and very hardworking.

The room was really comfortable, clean and big. The staff was excellent. The pool area was really cozy, we went to the pool twice during our stay and we were the only people there apart for some people at the roof top bar. The staff was very friendly too. Breakfast was excellent and had a lot of variety.

The only downside in our room was that the bathroom division was all glass so you couldn't have much privacy. We already knew it beforehand but if you are expecting a place to stay were you could easily walk to the historic center of Funchal this is not the place to stay. This area is not the easiest to find parking and the hotel park was quite expensive compared to the other parks around Funchal.

Spacious Apartment ( junior suite) Massive balcony sea facing. Location.we were upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. We have already tried to rebook but unfortunately booked up on the dates we wanted . Very popular hotel .

Cleanliness .was poor on arrival . Apartment hadn't had the best clean between changeover ,could be improved ie bathroom .scum round tap , shower screen marked , tiles had scum . Floor throughout apartment dusty and dirty . We missed having our room cleaned a couple of times but that was down to us wanting not to be disturbed whilst sunbathing .

Convenient location for sightseeing and walking exercise (20-30 min walk to the city centre), nice view from the hotel window, good international breakfast offer, fast WiFi included in the room price, swimming pool included in the price (not used), quiet room, comfy bed, air con, good international cable TV, kettle + teas + instant coffees in the room, daily room cleaning service,

No daily supply of mineral water for the room- we received only one 1.5.l bottle on the day of arrival

Breakfast was good, there was enough variety We were on the 4th floor which was were the pool and an area with some sunbeds were and it was really convenient and lovely. We could see the sunset from there. Room itself was spacious and comfy. We were able to park the car in the garage in the same building which was accessed with the elevator. The location was good too - 30 min walk from the centre of Funchal but we chose that on purpose to have a good access to all of the hiking paths around (without going through traffic).

The beds were OK. Not the most comfortable beds I have encountered, could be better.
