I enjoyed a very relaxing week at New Folias. There is a really nice beach a five minute walk away, and the main commercial centre is very close by. The staff were very pleasant, and always available to help. My room was was very clean and comfortable, with a nice sea view from the balcony. There is a public bus service (number 66 and 90) which can take you to and from the airport, and stops near to Hotel New Folias. (I paid €3.50 from airport to hotel and the same when leaving).

This is the 6th time we have stayed at this hotel. The location is perfect for us as self catering. The staff are fantastic especially reception day or night and the ladies who service the room. The room is large with a good size balcony and from the 6th floor, the views are spectacular. The area is quiet but still close to amenities.

The hotel is showing signs or wear, looking a little tired. some décor and bathroom fittings were in need of a change. The pool area is ok but poolside tables, sunbeds and the pre swim showers were not cleaned during our stay and would have benefited from a clean and disinfect. Some of the poolside light covers were broken. Whilst this did not distract from our stay, it would have improved it.

The personal was incredibly friendly at reception and as well in the restaurant. They gave us tips for trips.Food was good during breakfast concerning the Price and also by the dinner. Good opportunity to try spanish food. Pool was fantastic, guite big and perfect location! Nearby was the beach.

Even in the Night and early in the morning we heard loud noise so the walls arent soundproof at all. It was probably from cleaning ladies but I dont know.

We stayed in apartament close to beach. I liked the place and would stayed longer if possible. Beds were OK, there is also a small kitchenette with electric kettle, microwave, fridge and coffee maker, you can also cook some dinner there. Breakfast was plenty choice, fresh orange juice is a big plus and many breakfast options to choose from. Location walking distance to the beach. The water in pool was cold when we stayed but I suppose this is the case in most places in GC in the winter period.

Please improve your coffee, as it is not tasty. This is the only thing we didn't like about the place 😊

Hotel New Folias is a very conveniently located for anyone wishing to explore the south part of the island. While San Augustin/Maspalomas area is know to be rather touristy and nightlife oriented it is also a great base for car-aided travels to some fantastic hiking destinations which are under 1h away from here (guigui/tamadaba/tejeda areas). If you are planning this type of holidays, this hotel is definitely worth considering, as it is well connected, with many amenities around and a helpful staff to aid your stay (it has been mentioned in other reviews - the cleaning staff are especially good and flexible). All at a very good price. Would definitely return again, especially knowing the below info...

Despite being told the parking is scarce and far away we decided not to book private parking, and eventually there happened to be lot of free parking spots around available. While it can be helpful for less abled and in high season, the private parking does not seem to be necessary, and communication/info regarding it could be clearer. Would be also better if filter coffee machine could come with actual filters or there would be a coffee pot.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, I stayed 2 nights at the begining of my trip and 2 nights at the end of the trip and I really wish I spent more time there! The staff are so welcoming and very pleasant in particular Omar at reception who was super friendly, professional and patient and provided good advice on the local area. The pool guy (sorry didn't get the name) was very accommodating, making sure everyone has a sun-lounger and would move it wherever you wanted it, lovely guy. I loved the LOCATION! 5 minute walk to a nice beach, 5-10 minute walk to a shopping centre and less than 10 minute walk from the buses that service the airport and most other areas in Gran Canaria. Lots of plants and nature around and not too crowded with people considering the busy month of August. I will be back! The room was a good size, modern, clean with very good air-conditioning. The sea/ pool/ plant view was magnificent! both on the 5th floor as well as the 2nd floor.

I loved the views from my room, I could see the sand dunes from my balcony. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was generous. The room was being cleaned daily and it was possible to cook in the kitchenette.

The shower room was a bit outdated and could do with new flooring. I think that security should be increased and the door that leads to the street from the pool should be locked and opened with a fob or key to avoid people from outside the hotel accessing the area.

Close by the pool , nice view, option to cook in the room as small annex and also kitchen stuff pan, pits ,toaster etc. microwave, mini hub oven, fridge I was happy when we were on the last day we could stay at the hotel and relax next to the pool and keep our suitcases at the lock room and before leaving to the airport we could take a shower and get ready to be fresh amazing 😉

A bit tricky shower as sometimes the pressure was going off too much and was spraying around the bathroom.

It is a very nice hotel, albeit it could do with a refurb. Some of the paintwork in the room was very shabby but the room itself, with a balcony, was very comfortable. The little kitchen allowed us to prepare lunch every day and we even cooked two simple evening meals. The staff, to a person, were friendly asnd helpful. The pool is really nice and although a little chilly at first (it was February) was lovely and we used it several times a day, every day. Breakfast is good with a lot of choice. The sausages, scrambled egg, mixed veg and bacon weren't to my taste but given the choice it was fine. Lunch was good and the service led by Carlos was excellent. The lack of a bar in the evening meant that evey evening meant a trip to the shopping centre, but with a huge amount of restaurants and bars there we ate and drank well. The grill which is part of the hotel was fine but we founbd it a bit impersonal. San Augustin is very much a Scandinavian resort and there were few Brits there, but just about everyone spoke English. On our last night I sat next to a Swedish family in an Italian restaurant in Spain. They ordered in English from a Croatian waiter! It is a short walk to the beach, but with limited mobility we didn't actually venture on to it. It is all very nice-looking though. Finally, the weather was superb every day - it's a great place for winter sun.

The hotel has a "do not reserve sunbeds" policy but that was not enforced on a regular basis. Thus, by 9am most of the sunbeds were reserved and, sadly, we did it ourselves a couple of times. However, we learnt our lesson when our towels were taken to reception. Having said this, somehow Juan the lifeguard always found us beds ad we had two every day.
