The place feels like home. The staff working there are willing to be your friends and you may likely end up with offered ramen. I was traveling alone but the yoga & onigiri dinner evening with the staff and other guests at the facility gave me a chance to socialize and enjoy my stay even more.

It was my first onsen experience and it was a nice introduction to the onsen culture in Japan. The staff were generally very courteous and helpful. The capsule sleeping area was spacious and provided some privacy despite the shared living arrangements. I love the calm lighting in the place. The location was very convenient as it is only a mere few seconds to a minute's walk from the Jinjashita bus stop--easy to get to Motohakone for the cruise and also easy to get to Hakone-Yumoto town. But what we love the best about this place is the dining and lounge area. It provides so many kitchen tools and utensils for us to use and we could whip up a nice decent meal, but the icing on the cake was the interior design. It was lovely and was a nice combo of the traditional and the modern.
Could have some shower rooms separate from the onsen available for more privacy. I didn't like the idea that the shower rooms were only available at the B3 floor sharing space with the onsen. Also, not enough toilets.

Stayed in the female dormitory, and the beds were comfy, plus there were blinds that hid the bed openings so could feel some privacy. The onsen was very clean, spacious, and comfortable as well, and the outdoor onsen was very nice. The shared common spaces were also very cozy with everything you need from a kitchen, cooking utensils, comic books, sockets on the desks so you could work, etc. As a solo traveler it was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, with consideration for guests extended to every corner of the place.
There are some stairs that you need to climb down to get to the reception, and it was a bit difficult carrying my luggage down. The street leading to the hostel is also quite narrow and can be dangerous when the cars are speeding by. Also, the indoor slippers tend to get mixed up when you take them off at the common spaces, so wish they came with room numbers so that people wouldn't wear yours.

a fantastic place! we stayed in the dorm beds but the amenities made it feel like a luxury. we spent so much time relaxing. indoor and outdoor onsen were both so lovely, highly recommend renting the comfortable robes for your stay (500¥). kitchen is well equipped and spacious. I’d recommend doing some research on sento/onsen etiquette if you are new to Japan before you stay as well :) our only feedback was that the mattresses in the dorm beds were quite thin, and it would be nice to have light switches at the entrances rather than at the back of the cubbies. arigato gozaimasu, we’d love to come back!
it’s not really something we didn’t “like” (we loved everything!) but there were some guests who had recently arrived to Japan and didn’t know onsen etiquette yet. Tsutaya has little posters up, but I think having really clear signage at the entrances of the indoor onsen about having thorough showers before getting in, and at the exits to dry off before entering the changeroom tatami mats would help preserve this beautiful space ♨️

-I loved everything about this place! The onsens were clean and so great. The staff were so great; communicative, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were actually super spacious and comfortable. The people in my room were respectful and quiet for the most part (I did wear earplugs to sleep because the door opening/closing was loud). The common area was SO nice and had everything you needed and had enough room for everyone to either get to know each other or for you to have your own space. The bus stop is right out front and the closest train is like 15min away (not too bad). I personally preferred using the train to get to attractions. The view and vibes were amazing. I really wish I stayed longer. Would absolutely stay here again!
I loved everything about it! Not a big negative but just as a warning that there aren’t food options for dinner past a certain time so you’d have to get stuff from 7/11 to eat or cook

- The interior was really cozy and gorgeous. I loved the lounge which was well equipped with tea, coffee beans, a tatami room with kotatsus, and plenty of seating. - The baths were great value, especially the outdoor one. Got lucky enough to get the outdoor bath to myself in the morning! - Capsules, washroom and hotel were very clean. - I've had some bad experiences with noisy guests at capsule/dorm hotels, but the guests all generally followed the rules and it was quiet and night! - Lots of solo travellers! Met another girl who I ended up travelling around with :)
- Beds are quite thin - Capsule was too cold for me personally - As some other reviewers mentioned, the entrance is in the middle of road with no sidewalk so it feels a little dangerous walking at night. However the bus stop is right by the hotel, making it convenient.

It was awesome. It has everything you'd want (at least from a capsule booking perspective). The capsules themselves are very spacious - enough for bag / suitcase and then even more space behind the pillow (enough for clothes / bag) with multipled charging ports (usb/sockets) and a shelf + 4 digit safe to boot! Temperature was also perfect, it was so comfy to sleep and I'm fairly tall! The facilities: The kitchen is SO amazing. Has every single cooking equipment & utensils you could imagine. Even a drip coffee set! I went to the kitchen in the morning to find people making their own drip coffee! Coffee is also free along with a whole bunch of different teas. The living / common area - it's attached to the kitchen and is SO cozy. There is a more modern styled section with tables and chairs that's then connected to a very japanese traditional area with very low tables and a nice atmosphere. (I got tipsy on sake and fell asleep there reading manga haha). They actually provide a full bookshelf worth of different mangas to use for free! There's also a board with a ton of information too. There was a recommended wagyu burger place and it was awesome with extremely cheap cocktails! Called 'Funny's Grill & Bar' I think. Finally for the big one, the onsens! They are obviously Hakone onsens so the water is very nice with the natural smell you'd expect. There are both indoor and outdoor onsesns (both gender segregated). The outdoor one is smalled but has the most amazing atmosphere. Sitting there at night or morning is an experience everyone should try at least once. I got lucky and had it to myself both times I went! It's also right outside a bus stop which is around halfwayish between the lake and Hakone-Yumoto station so it's very convenient. AND IT WAS SO CHEAP, 100% reccomend.
The ONLY downside is the fact that the cleaning room with showers is only attached to the indoor onsen and there is a small corridor you have to go through to get to the outdoor onsen. You are not allowed to do it while wearing a towel so have to get dressed after cleaning at the indoor onsen and then getting undressed at the outdoor onsen. However this is TINY inconvenience in comparison to the amazing staff, facilities and enviornment.

This place was absolutely incredible. I am now at a $300 hotel sort of close by and their onsen does not compare at all. The outdoor Osen is incredible. I also got to take a yoga class while I was there and have a traditional Japanese style meal. The staff is absolutely exceptional- so welcoming and warm. They clean the place totally every day so it is spotless. I slept really well and I really enjoyed all the other guests. The other thing I really enjoyed is reading the books they had about printmaking and art in the lobby. it is such a beautiful place. I cannot recommend it enough. very easy to get to by bus .

This guesthouse is one of the best stays I had in all my travels. The common area is clean and very cozy. One could spend the day there, reading, relaxing, listening to the very nice music that is played over the speakers. There is a fully equipped kitchen that has all you need to cook yourself a wholesome meal. The dormitory is exceptional. The bed was really comfortable and there is even room to put your luggage in your booth! Last, but not least, the onsen. They have 3 onsens! Indoor and outdoor. Beware that there is no shower in the outdoor onsen, so you need to shower in the indoor one. I would highly recommend this place and would book again if I am in the area.

The common area is amazing + the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a hotel/hostel. The staff were great and there was a lovely social atmosphere. Clean, safe, fun onsen.
The dorm'a door kept beeping loudly because of some bug in the system, the capsules weren't ventilated enough and the mattress was hard, so I had trouble sleeping. The outside onsen was harder to reach (you have to get dressed and climb a flight of stairs, it's not connected to the indoor onsen) and had no facilities to cool off - no chairs or (cold) showers, no drinkable water, and it was so hot you could only use it for a minute or two before it was unbearable, so I couldn't really take my time to enjoy it. Also, although easily reachable by bus, the area immediately outside the hostel is dangerous to pedestrians as there is no sidewalk and a meandering dark road, I didn't feel comfortable being there without a car.
