The hotel is in a great location on the bank of the River Ouse , handy for the city centre (easily accessed over Skeldergate Bridge, which brings you out by Clifford's Tower) and the shops/cafes/restaurants in 'Bishy Road', but also great for walking along the river. It's also right next to Rowntree Park (a really nice 1920s park with a cafe and playground) and quite near the Racecourse, so a good option if you're coming to the races. Although the only breakfast offered is coffee/tea and croissants, the croissants were fresh every day (even on Christmas Day) and very good quality. Our room was large and very well-equipped, including the kitchen area. The bed was firm and comfortable. Being by the river it was very quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful. We come to York regularly and I'd definitely stay here again.

Having paid a supplement for a room with a river view, we were given a room at the side of the hotel overlooking the caravan park at Rowntree Park; however, reception staff were apologetic and said that they would arrange a refund for the river view supplement. My only other (very minor) quibble is that the toilet paper supplied is so thin that you might want to consider bringing your own!

Excellent location, not far from York centre, around 5-10 minutes walk. Parking was good but lucky to get a space, I can imagine that arriving and having to find alternative parking would be a pain. Apartment amenities were good - although didn’t put them all to use I can appreciate the fridge / freezer for longer stays and summer. Was very quiet no noise issues from either other apartments or the local area.

I’d say this was on the pricey side, I ended up paying £400 including upgrade to balcony offer. In all honesty the balcony isn’t much use / views aren’t the best despite being located adjacent to the river due to the trees but I can see the appeal and welcome breeze afforded in the summer. Thought it was strange there wasn’t a bar, although obviously plenty within a short walk. The rooms were looking slightly tired, nothing major but noticed knocks etc here and there.

Location was fantastic - easy access to city centre, Rowntree Park & Bishy Road. Staff was great - very helpful and accommodating. And hotel was dog friendly! Room spacious and well equipped.

Was overall very happy with our stay and put most housekeeping shortcomings down to staff time off for Christmas. However was surprised no free parking for residents. Also not happy the parking garage wasn’t secured (security barrier not working - on 2 occasions found piles of vomit next to our car that were never cleaned away). In room, mattress could have been more comfortable. Kitchen cabinet doors not fitting properly. Soap containers needed refilling and were moldy inside (staff provided fresh new bottle of soap). Would have liked a better breakfast.

Lovely apartment, and we were located at the end of the corridor, so not only quieter, but also had a river view. The walk to/from the city centre and rail station really isn't too bad for those able to do so. The overall look and feel is very welcoming, the complimentary coffee and croissants in Reception in the morning is a really thoughtful touch. Our apartment was very comfortable and well thought out, the bathroom and shower were spacious and very good. For each alcove of 2 apartments, there is also an extra door between room doors and corridor, making it even quieter. I've never seen this before, and really appreciated it 👍🏻 Our dog was with us and he was very welcome, also a lovely park just long the road (and a handy poo bin on the fence just inside the entrance to the caravan park next door). The hotel has a little provisions shop, including microwave meals, so as a self catering guest you have quick/easy options if you need them. The breakfast/brunch menu is varied (although we didn't try it, we saw the food prepared by the chef for a corporate gathering, it all looked very good). Also, they use turkey bacon and beef sausages for the whole menu, which is a great idea to include anyone who doesn't eat pork without the hotel having loads of different ingredients hanging around. All round a very relaxed and comfortable stay, would definitely stay here again.

The air con/heating was a little noisy at night (but I can be a light sleeper to be fair). Just the one recommendation....... although the kitchen area is well equipped, there were no tea towels for drying anything. I appreciate that this would be extra laundry, but I think it's an essential bit of kit to be honest 🤷‍♀️

This was a gorgeous apartment a 10 minute walk from the City Centre. We would absolutely stay again. Our apartment had an upstairs where the bed was with a skylight over the bed. We also had a balcony off our seating area. The staff were really helpful. They kept our bags for us prior to check in and after check out for a few hours which was great. They also called taxi's for us when needed which were there in minutes. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A great choice for couples.

The bed could have been comfier, it was quite firm and we didn't sleep all that well. However, I think that's just a matter of preference or what we are used to as opposed to there being anything wrong with the bed. This is literally the only criticism we would make.

Fab, dog friendly hotel. Great for a family trip. Very clean. Really quiet. Good location, close enough to walk into town, but far enough away to avoid the noise. Nice view, if your room faces the front of the building. Free coffee from machine, and croissants in the morning is a nice touch. Beds comfy.

Parking was an issue. Not much parking space, we arrived late on and there were no spaces, and it wasnt great with a half asleep child and a dog plus cases to unload. Staff did give us a code and advise us to use a local Q-park, the code would have gotten us 15% off. However, we weren't told the code was only valid if you book in advance on the Qpark app-so we couldn't actually use the code on exit.

Loved, loved, loved this modern hotel right opposite the tree lined river. The room was nice and big with plenty of room to move. The bed was amazingly comfortable and it was a bonus to have a kitchen in our room, which included a cook top, microwave, large fridge & freezer, all the crockery & cutlery and cooking equipment. This is very unusual for hotels in England and Scotland. A short walk to the Shambles, York minster and the main city. Parking was also available at £18 / day. Would highly recommend.

Modern, very well equipped room and high quality bathroom and kitchen fittings; heated bathroom floor was brilliant. Friendly, helpful staff. Croissants in the morning in the foyer v good. Very good, quiet location by the river and short walk into the city. Sophie’s café on the nearby bridge a great find.

Air conditioning system seemed faulty, whatever temperature and fan speed setting we adjusted it to it churned out a lot of cool air (even when it should’ve been heating); finally had to get the manager to switch it off at the master panel. Likely a software fault.

The room was beautiful, and the staff were VERY helpful . It was clean, well made up, warm, and the morning croissant was a delicious bonus!

Not so much a problem, as information for potential guests with mobility issues. Whilst the room is "accessible" in that there were no steps, and there was a lift, there were no grab rails near the toilet, no seat in the shower. So it is not independently accessible for wheelchair users, though as a group we were able to manage this.
