We loved the entire visit so much we intended to return in July, however, although we try not to speed we were done for speeding, if this can happen to us it can happen to anyone at any time in Wales, we therefore decided to avoid the country in future after a lifetime of holidays on Anglesey!

The idiotic varying speed limits in Wales!

Breakfast excellent. On the Sunday we had roast beef and it was delicious! Dining room is lovely. The whole hotel is comfortable and clean but it is looking a little dated in parts - eg some of the carpets look like they could do with replacing and the wardrobe/drawers etc in the bedroom were in need of a bit of TLC. However, clean and very comfortable. Staff really polite and friendly. We've stayed a couple of times now and would stop again. Great location in Beaumaris and despite staying over a bank holiday weekend we managed to get on the hotel car park every evening. Plenty of eating options if you don't want to eat in the hotel too - lovely Italian virtually next door and the Bulls Head opposite are just a couple of options. If the worn carpets and worn furniture in the bedrooms were updated, it would rate as excellent! That said, the feeling of the hotel is that of being "grand" and old-fashioned, so maybe it all fits!

Just the TLC needed on the bedroom furniture and carpets.

The location was excellent. It was clean with a great old grandeur of its past. The staff were friendly polite and helpful. The painting on the wall of the chap reading the paper is very funny and catches you out initially. Breakfast was good

Some issues in the restaurant. First night, i ordered the mixed grill. They forgot the egg it came out a couple minutes later. Another night I ordered the rib eye that came without the sauce didn't arrive at all. Another night, a mix up in serving food in the bar. That was eventually sorted out by the lady on reception who was great. The bar staff were good as well . Saying all this I would stay again. The food good and reasonable priced

The room was magnificent! Tastefully furnished, bed comfortable. Bathroom clean and very adequate. Location overlooking Beaumaris green, pier and Menai Straits very interesting. The high street shops were good to look around, right outside the door., with Beaumaris Castle easy walking distance too. Food was excellant, service excellent. The very talented pianist during dinner was an added bonus and a very pleasant surprise. Quiet but tasteful background music.

we like hooks by the door for coats, and in the bathroom, for robes and towels. Also maybe another shelf or small table in the otherwise, very large and beautiful bathroom, to spread our toiletries on.

The location is brilliant, overlooking the sea, with the pier close-by for inhaling the negative ions that aide breathing and lung function. Across the road to get showered and ready for dinner, with an interesting menu to suit all tastes. Breakfast is what you make it! From flakes and toast, to the full breakfast, (black pudding included) plus coffee or tea as required. Our room was of good size, with an immense shower, comfortable bed and all the little extras that make up a comfortable room. One thing I liked, just a small thing, but important for townies like me who have bedrooms that are never really dark. In the toilet and bedroom area were small 'peanut' size floor lights, to help when visiting the loo at night.

Although the hotel parking area is a good size, we had problems parking the car at the door for unloading our suitcases when we arrived and had to park a mile away until it cleared. We didn't have a problem for the rest of our stay, but as I have a heart problem, the arrival was a bit difficult. After that, everything was okay, with the staff giving us all the help we needed.

Just had a couple of nights here. Food, especially the breakfast (excellent) is very good. Very dog friendly, the only real negative we had was with one couple with two dogs who just weren’t trained and made it quite stressful. The staff were all wonderful, very friendly and efficient. However, one member of staff stood out as exceptional - the waitress Holly, who really is a ray of sunshine, my husband and I could not praise her enough. If you are looking for a modern hotel with no dogs, this place is not for you: however if you like something different that is right on the seaside, then book yourself a little break like we did.

Good location. Comfortable clean, functional room with a view of castle Street, (not sea view) adequate for our three night stay. Able to take our dog. Satisfying breakfast, table cloths on the breakfast tables and tables cleaned and prepared for next service quickly. Attentive, helpful staff. Good food. Parked for free within the hotel car park, first come first served but had no problem mid week! Parking nearby only £6 per day (24 hours from when ticket is purchased) Comfortable chairs and seating in the bar. Grade one listed building with interesting history dating back to when queen Victoria's stay at the age of 13.

2 star food hygiene rating! Didn't spot that at first, if I had I probably wouldn't of eaten there, or even booked! but the two evening meals and three breakfast we had were all very good.

Absolutely fabulous location right on the seafront at one side and the high street on the other. The food was amazing, beautifully cooked and presented with a lot of choice. We got the breakfast and evening meal package which was very good value. A lovely comfortable hotel. Yes there are bits of the decor that could do with a lick of paint and our twin room was a little dated but this was minor, the bedroom was warm, clean and the beds were very comfy. Excellent facilities at the hotel, particularly good for disabled visitors, ramps and a lift from outside to our first floor room. There is a good size car park too. Great staff and service, we will be back with our dog!

Faded grandeur sums it up. The 'comfortable' double room was a bit small and basic, with a little window providing a sea view, but the bed was comfortable. The location is brilliant right in the middle of the town, near the pier and castle, we parked for free in the hotel car park without any problems. The high point was dinner, it was excellent. The dining room and bar are beautifully decorated. I was initially put off by a low hygiene rating so I spoke to the restaurant staff and they explained that it was not the cleanliness of the kitchen that was at fault but the paperwork, they have another visit in a few weeks to put that right. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The choice of food was great and it was very good, imaginative and well presented. We had scallops, soup, salmon, and steak followed by creme brulee and ice cream. The piano player was also a nice touch.

Some of the furniture is a bit battered and the carpets worn. But everything else makes up for it.

Car park not big enough. Spaces need managing by hotel. People parking in areas not designated as spaces causing chaos.
