Location was great as on a road going straight to the city centre with a bus stop just across the street. Anita was wonderful, trying to help me find my way to the house as finding the right bus and the right bus stop got challenging. Room had a window to the side road and you could hear a car passing once in a while, but other than that, it was very quiet, I slept wonderfully. Even if the room was small, there were lots of cupboards and a wardrobe with a full size mirror, a desk, a hair dryer, a small fridge, so I found it had everything I needed for my stay.

I expected the single room to be bigger than what I found it was but really it met my needs perfectly as I had no time to spend there except to sleep at night. I didn't find in the room some special lamp I read that all rooms had.

Comfortable and spacious room with good lighting. Personal welcome upon arrival was appreciated, and free parking is a great touch. Receptionist was able to check us in early which was very convenient! Location is fantastic and well connected to the rest of Oxford, and water pressure and temperature was great.

There are a few hidden charges like the minibar and staying in the car park after check out. The bathroom is a little small but very functional. Other hotels in the area may be cheaper for a comparable offer.

We were in Oxford for a congress. The atmosphere in the hotel very good, it is a family run hotel, and they make you feel like family. They are so friendly! You can ask them anything! Very helpful, they provided us with good information about both the hotel as well as the area and other sightseeiing tips, tips for where to eat, rent a bike, etc. The room and bathroom were large and clean, and cosy, with a frigde and sink qnd microwave . A nice bath and shower; Beds were comfortable, we slept really well. Daily roomcleaning. There are many busses, untill late at night, bring you back to the hotel in 10 minutes from the citycenter. Very convenient, and a quiet place. 5 minutes walk from the hotel brings you to the area 'Summertown' with nice shops, restaurants, bard.

nothing, it was just perfect .

We initially booked 3 nights and extended for one more. The location is perfect to reach the city centre - bus stop is literally one minute away, with several buses available. Short walk to Summertown where you can find a good selection of restaurants, shops and cafes. The room was spacious, beautiful decorated and very clean, comfortable bed, modern bathroom with a great tub & shower combo, toiletries and towels warmer; the mini-kitchen is very helpful for breakfast and light / left-over dinners. Our room had a big window facing the street, and we enjoyed having breakfast every morning, sitting on the comfy chairs and watch the world go by. There is an option to purchase breakfast through the hotel, however, we preferred to stop by a supermarket and pick up some basics. Kavita and Anita are very nice and friendly ladies, and we will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Oxford.

The room was exceptionally quiet, clean, and well-lit, creating a cozy atmosphere. Although the chairs were a bit low for reaching the table comfortably for someone of shorter stature like myself, it did not significantly impact my stay. The highlight was the hospitality; the manager and the reception staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, making me feel right at home. Additionally, the hotel is located in a quiet part of Oxford, yet public transport is within a 2- minute walking distance, and you can reach the city center under a 10-minute bus ride.

One minor inconvenience was the electric socket configuration. The sockets in the room are three-pin, which can make charging your phone or laptop a bit tricky if you have two-pin plugs. It would be helpful if the hotel could provide adapters or have some available for guests who may not bring their own.

A comfortable room, decent in size. Felt safe and secure and the lady checking me in was friendly and welcoming. Good WiFi and a decent sized desk/table. A fridge and herbal teas on offer (rare in the 8 previous accommodations I'd stayed in!). Lovely walk into Oxford - a fair distance, and I couldn't sort the buses, but fortunately I love walking so the 3kms was ok and relatively flat. Really nice walk along the canal if you take Elizabeth Jennings Way into the City Centre. Grateful for the free parking - limited parking in the car park on site, but there is street parking on the street around the side (and that was right out the front of my room).

Mattress and pillows were not the comfiest and no top sheet on the bed! Only a bottom sheet and doona/quilt/duvet. This means when you are warm (those polyester coverings are warm) you cannot toss it back as then you have no covering over you! Why don't people use top sheets?? Check-out is 10am, earlier than other locations.

Very swift check in and check out with friendly staff greeting me at the door. I was offered assistance with my bags from the very first touchpoint. The place was easy to find via Google maps. The room was extremely spacious, much more space than I thought I'd get in Oxford. Very clean amenities, full length mirror, dining table with chairs and a stocked mini fridge.

The snack selection could have been a bit better - mostly crisps and chocolate - something like olives or fruit and nuts could have been nice options as well. Definitely not a deal breaker though as I didn't spend too much time in the room anyways.

Very quick and easy check in, polite and welcoming staff. Our room was quiet, bed was very comfortable, daily housekeeping if required (we didn`t use this, by our own choice) Plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Great shower. Fan in room was useful as the weather was very hot. Park and Ride nearby - we drove and parked, but it was within walking distance so would be useful for those without a car, for getting to the centre of town.

Would have been preferable to have a window that easily opened in the bathroom, especially as the extractor fan didn`t appear to be working. Weather was very hot, temp in the high 20s, so a window would have saved the bathroom becoming very steamed up. There was a window but velux type which couldn`t be reached and looked like it hadn`t been opened for a very long time. There is very limited parking on site, we knew at time of booking that on-site parking was not guaranteed. We parked on the street around the corner. This was safe enough, but sections are for permit holders or only free to others within certain hours. You can`t leave your car there all day. Neither of the above comments would put me off returning, as I would happily do so.

Everything was perfect. The hosts went well beyond their job, helping me out to recover one forgotten item with kindness and zeal. The stay was pleasant and perfect to allow us to reach Oxford city centre with a power walk.

I chose The Marlborough House Hotel for the size of the room, the kitchenette and, the proximity to Oxford, so it already ticked many boxes before I got even there. Everything was as expected with the added bonus of lots of holistic touches - a salt lamp, a book of philosophical insights, recommendations for meditations and yoga and opportunities to indulge in relaxing baths with bath bombs and soaps available in Reception :-) I thought it was all absolutely delightful and will book there again when I next visit Oxford.
