The coffee was good as was the breakfast in general. They had pretty much everything that I could reasonably expect: Teas, infusions, filter coffee, six or seven types of cereals, honey, marmalades, natural yoghurt, tomato, cucumber, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs, toast, a variety of small cakes and pastries...more than enough to choose from.
The Cavendish has been bought by the Arran Hotel next door and so the entrances and exits are rather impersonal as you have to go next door to actually see a receptionist. Sometimes in the evening there was someone in reception but I maybe only saw one once or twice in a whole week. There was no lift but I had not expected one. Still, since I was staying on the top floor it would have improved things. Perhaps it would be complicated to install one in this building

Location was great, very central so great travel access to city hotspots. It had all the basics I needed to stay a few nights over the weekend travelling alone. En-suite bathroom with towels, room cleanliness was good and expected of the price range.
I’m a light sleeper and my room window was facing the Main Street, it wasn’t a very busy street but sleeping with the window open did affect my sleep. However, I came prepared and brought my own earplugs and noise cancelling headphones and I was able to sleep great. I would have liked air conditioning but that may be better found outside this price range.

Easy check in Professional and helpful staff at reception Girls in breakfast area very polite and friendly Continental breakfast included in price with lots of choices For the price we paid for double room and breakfast for 2 people very good value If your expecting the Hilton then you may be disappointed as this is a budget hotel but very clean and in a great location
We had to go daily to reception to re validate our room card Floor carpets look tired Small breakfast area and had to queue for a table on Sunday ( one day out of three ) Not many tables for 2 which meant single people on table for four ! Seat allocation would have sorted this

Very good for the location, service, comfort and price. It was quiet and warm, the bed was clean and comfy and the tv worked well. I've stayed in many hotels in London at the lowest price I can afford and Hotel Cavendish was one of the better ones.
The room is very small and there is limited space to store things if they are not in the wardrobe. I like to use the table for writing on etc but because of items cluttering the surface of the table and lack of space to put the items elsewhere I could not use the table. Sitting on the bed and trying to write detracted from a pleasurable hotel experience. Also, in my room in particular the door led onto a set of two steps before the landing. I very nearly fell down these on leaving my room. A hand-rail would be a useful safeguard.

Chose this for the location close to Birkbeck, and best price in the area on the date I needed. Grateful for a ground floor room, as I have an injury and can't carry luggage upstairs (there is no lift). Decent size room and comfortable bed. Staff member on reception was very friendly.
Messaging before arrival is all by chatbot - lots of repeated messages, and the request for a ground floor room was replied to with an impersonal 'ground floor rooms are subject to availability' rather than 'let's see what we can do for you, and we can help you with your luggage.' Downside of my ground floor room was noise outside in the hallway. Garden outside the window could be a plus, but needs clearing. Staff absent at breakfast. Could do with a chair in the room, coat hook, and a shelf in the shower.

Staff were friendly and helpful. I had a problem that the telly wouldn't work. Because I was without it for 5 days, they said they would give me a discount when I stay there again in a few days. Tasty continental breakfast with good variety. Good location, close to theatres and in easy reach by underground of central city attractions.
Lighting in the room was dim. The bedside lamp's shade was noticeably stained. It would be useful to have a full-length mirror in the room, maybe on the inside of the wardrobe door, if nowhere else suitable. Duvet was quite thin. This is a general plea- could hoteliers please not put cushions on the bed? Bedlinen is laundered regularly - is the same true for cushion covers?

Staff: absolutely the best and friendliest hotel team in London (or anywhere else) - purely on this basis, I would recommend 11/10 Location Relative to any west-London academic location, it's perfect. Food: Best. Breakfast. Ever. !!
The single rooms are a little small, but absolutely perfect if what you're looking for is somewhere clean, safe and comfortable to sleep. If you're looking for somewhere to host a massive pool-party, then please find another hotel to stay in, because I don't want you ruining it for the rest of us!

It’s was brilliant. Around the corner from Google street tube. Stayed with my little boy and daughter. Super clean, super friendly and so convenient. We dined in a local bar around the corner, Tesco express up the road for snacks! Would definitely return here. Breakfast basic but fab, coffee great. Our room was ‘2 flights up, right, 2 flights down’ something my little boy still rhymes off to this day. X
This is no 5* hotel but doesn’t pretend to be. Its super clean, beds were comfy and clean. Pillows soft and not too big! Nothing not to like.

Close to Euston station and east to find. Bed was very comfy, room was warm and cozy, had what I needed for an emergency stop over.
Hooks on doors not useable for this under 6ft so no where to hang coat. No hanging space for clothes. Towel rail in bathroom again too high. Hairdryer didn’t work. No notice telling you to ring door bell if no one present at reception when you arrive as person on reception needing to attend to location Nextdoor as well as this one.

Very central spot in a nice location near underground etc and restaurants. Breakfast is continental which was nice with boiled eggs etc.
I only realised nearer the end of the stay that the bathroom fan had a separate switch near the fuse board and probably should have been wired in with the light switch as it was hard to notice the separate switch up high near the top of bathroom door and the fan was noisy if I woke up early in the morning.
