I've stayed here before, but it still exceeded expectations. Every bit about the stay and the hotel is right, & the attention to detail is admirable. What makes the difference is the staff - On my day of departure I was meeting friends for lunch, so did some work in the bar while I was waiting for them. The staff were setting up for numerous Xmas meals, so there was a lot of rushing around, but they still found time to offer me drinks, free chocolates. The food was fantabulous (if you like soft cheese, go for St Ceda) Do you know they even have screw adjustments on the feet of the tables so they don't wobble - genius!

Pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere Cosy pub. Room was spacious around bed. Mattress was a decent firm one. Air con / heating system good. Food very filling and flavoured nicely. Clean and tidy everywhere. Nice seating area outside. Parking was provided onsite. Room cleaned every day. Nice ales to drink according to husband. Husband pleased with cooked breakfast.

Lack of space between toilet and sink. My wife struggled to get on and off seat and she had to turn sidewards to manoeuvre and use sink to help get off toilet. Shower appeared to lose power and stopped working after a few mins. Old window in bedroom (forster) has very old frame window and doesn't close fully. So may be alot colder in autumn and no curtains, just a pull down Roman blind. Porridge was very stodgy initially but asked kitchen to dilute it down with hot milk. Could have done with some cupboard area lighting where clothes are hung. Rather dark area. Maybe in winter providing a top layer blanket for colder nights.

We didn’t have the breakfast as it was extra and we bought breakfast in Cambridge each day. Pub was in an excellent location for access to Cambridge on park and ride. We ate supper in the cosy bars at the front of the property two of our three nights stay and the food and ambiance were extremely good. Staff are very obliging and pleasant. Our room was fine - our only slight misgiving was the lack of a window you could actually look out of. Our room had a small velux as did the bathroom- for three nights it wasn’t really a problem but felt a tad claustrophobic. Some of the rooms have larger windows and it wouldn’t stop us using the pub again as we were generally very happy with it.

Just a window you could see out if .

The hotel is very attractive with a lovely patio garden. The food was delicious and well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The room was noisy - you could literally hear people talk full volume / pee in the room above, and our room was by the entrance to all the other rooms so a bit noisy. I think if I’d paid for a romantic hotel break rather than a hotel stop off to another destination I would have been disappointed by the size and style of the room for the price.

The room was in the garden on the ground floor. It was well decorated, clean & cosy, with good tea & coffee making facilities.

Having a table & chairs situated right outside the bedroom window meant we couldn’t have the curtains slightly ajar in the morning to let some natural light in whilst getting ready as people sat right outside the window. Although there was a net curtain also I was conscious of someone being able to look in whilst getting dressed.

From the moment we arrived we could tell it felt warm and inviting. Once checked in we had help with our bags to the room and everything was explained air con etc. The room was clean comfy and had all required for our 1 night stay. The pub is very cosy and the staff can’t do enough for you as a guest. As a staying guest they went over and above looking after us which was a really nice feeling. The food is exceptional from starters to puddings and looking around at other peoples food being brought out it all looked and smelt delicious. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious with local produce on the full English and a nice selection of continental breakfast. The croissants and pain au chocolat were so fresh and flaky and delicious. So overall I would certainly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a cosy place to stay with great service and delicious food just on outskirts of Cambridge. We will definitely go back for a visit or try the Sunday lunch which I’m sure would be amazing. Regards Mark

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The venue was set in pleasent grounds, excellent carparking friendly helpful staff, and a great choice in coffee pods in your room for all tastes. WIFI had good reception, and our stay was short only one night, but we would happily recommend this establishment to all our friends and family. We would have loved to stay longer because it was such a peaceful pretty pub in a quiet village. The food was very good, including breakfast, which was fresh and served pipping hot.

We can not find anything to criticise this outstanding place to stay and eat, and the location is great for Cambridge and many other places of interest, including Anglesey Abbey, which is just two miles away.

Very nice bedding, good to have coffee maker in room, especially good to have access to fresh milk and bottled water; quiet location and good restaurant in Pub; air conditioning appreciated

Bathroom tiles need to be cleaned all over the room, soap not provided at sink (just in shower pump dispenser that was worn out and not filled sufficiently), chipped china and dirty tea spoon in room, only one pack of biscuits provided.

This is an old inn used for travelers since the 1600’s. It is beautifully restored and our room certainly met our expectations. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed the full English breakfast, which cost an additional £15 each. Lots of meat!!! Plenty of parking and well lit. The church next door was a fun treat, which we visited the morning we left. John took us through the church and proudly told us about it. What a great start on the day. We stsyed here while visiting nearby Cambridge.

Lunch was excellent ! Roasted artichoke soup followed by bangers and mash. Very tasty ! Breakfast was very good. Yoghurt with fruit and seeds followed by a full English. One of the tastiest breakfasts I’ve eaten in a long time. Staff were lovely as always. I always enjoy time spent at The Crown and Punchbowl.

A very small point but worth noting - I like to open a window . In the room I was staying in that wasn’t possible but it won’t deter me from staying in that room again.
