It was a beautiful building in a central location. The rooms were lovely - beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend it.

Parking was very limited and the public car park across the road was pricy and the ticket machine wasn’t working properly so it had to be done online. A real nuisance on a particularly wet evening! Obviously not the hotels fault! There were 2 small things that would have made our stay more comfortable- there was nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom other than the toilet seat or floor. A stool or table would have been helpful. Also the windows in both bedroom and bathroom faced directly into other residences so blinds or a net curtain in both rooms would have been much appreciated for our privacy.

The staff were pleasant helpful and were very organised. The room was a good temperature and was clean and comfortable. There was a lovely selection of drinks and thoughtful extras in the room. The location was good for all the city centre amenities.

The bathroom was all show and just not fit for purpose. It was clean and modern. No shelving for your toiletries. The shower was so small I felt like I was been drowned. It had great water pressure but it was so confined it was unpleasant. Both myself and my husband remarked on how small the shower cubicle was. It was a shame as the rest of the room was so nice.

We stayed at the Toll House as was a stop over prior to doing Ingleton Waterfalls trail the following day. The breakfast room was beautifully presented with table service. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and should you wanted to you could have had cereal, pastries, yoghurts etc prior to having something hot. Certainly set us up for our walk and didn't need to eat until early evening. Well done!

No parking at the property but it was fine as we parked on the station car park and walked to the hotel. Could be a challenge if you have mobility issues, they have 4 parking spaces at the hotel but you would need to ring them to reserve a space, think the charge is £5 if you are a resident, which seems reasonable.

Great friendly staff who were courteous and helpful. Lovely food on our first evening in the restaurant. Lovely spacious room with a great shower. Overall a good two night stay in Lancaster. Your staff are a credit to you.

We had a blip on returning from our day at the races to find that our pre booked parking space at the hotel was taken by someone unknown. One of the staff asked around the diners if it was their vehicle but to no avail. This put a dampener on the evening slightly as we were going to go out for a meal but now had to stay until whoever was parked there removed their car. We were given the option of parking across the road at the public car park but because our friends had valuables in their car they were reluctant to do so. This though did not spoil our memory of a great weekend staying at the Toll House and we will definitely be returning as we have on several occasions.

Good sized rooms with comfortable beds; good sound insulation because, even though on the main road and above a pub, I slept soundly with no disturbance. Excellent, large, cooked breakfast to order (with plenty you could eat by way of cereals, etc. on top of this). Recently refurbished bathroom with good water pressure in the shower. What really made the difference was the friendly, efficient service from the staff - from check-in through breakfast service to check-out.

Nothing to dislike. It's not in the centre of town, but Lancaster is compact so it's only 10 mins walk to the centre or station.

This is a lovely hotel we had a hospital visit and it is walking distance to the hospital it is so close to shops in Lancaster great location the hotel was clean staff were friendly and very helpful food was excellent room had the best bathroom and lots of great extras like a real coffee machine and very cute flask for fresh milk just made a stressful hospital procedure just so better than it could have been. We will be going again in better circumstances !!! Food was also fantastic !!

Nothing it was perfect for our visit

Had a great one night stay. The staff as always were on top form. Again Will deserves full credit, he was very helpful as we needed to get the Heaters right he was very patient as we had to try a few different ones & my room was lovely & toasty in fact it was warmer than my own room at home! The food was excellent & the atmosphere was lovely. Feels like home away from home.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I couldn't stay another night! I didn't want to leave. Looking forward to coming back for another short stay in July.

The Toll House Inn is a wonderful and very quiet place to stay in January. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and is served à la carte as opposed to having a buffet. Our room had a proper coffee machine and you can ask for fresh milk and water to take to the room. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean.

Air conditioning is used for heating, which means that the room cools down very quickly once it is off.

We loved our stay! The room was perfect, spotless clean with a very comfy bed, power shower and excellent toiletries, hospitality tray etc. The food was superb, both evening meal and breakfast ( highly recommend the cheese and onion pie!!). The location was great, right in the heart of Lancaster close to the canal with a pay & display car park directly opposite. The staff were absolutely love and couldn't be more helpful or efficient. We will recommend to others and we will return without hesitation.

We ate lunch in the bar on our arrival and the food was excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. The overall decor of the property was lovely and well put together. There were board games in the bar to occupy families. On first impressions the room was nice although slightly smaller than we imagined. There was no noise from the road at all as the windows were soundproofed well. Comfy beds. Breakfast was plentiful, well cooked and presented. Service was excellent and very friendly.

The fixed plug in the bath did not fit and the water drained away very quickly. I had been out and bought some bath salts and was looking forward to enjoying a relaxing soak but instead ended up disappointed. The problem could not be fixed as its not the sort of plug which could be changed. There were stains on the bedlinen and mattress cover. After complaining, the manager changed the beds. I was already in my pj's and had to get dressed and sit in the bar whilst she did this, which was inconvenient. We were offered a free drink each and given a generous discount on the room rate when we checked out, which was very much appreciated. There is a large pay & display car park just across the road which was very convenient. They have a number of disabled bays for which parking is free.
