We grew to like the Ascot very much, and would probably stay here again. The staff were amazing and eager to please. The location in the bustling Colaba district is great for visitors, and just a short walk to the India Gate and famous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The area feels completely safe, and the streets though crowded are friendly. The rooms area spacious. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of juice and fresh fruit and your choice on an Indian breakfast or eggs.

The Ascot rooms are a little run down. You can sense this was previously an outstanding small hotel that now needs a bit of investment and freshening up. The clientel when we were there were mainly Middle Eastern, which may account for the fact that the only TV channels offerred were in Arabic. Hand towels and bath mats appeared irregularly. That said, we like the place. It is good value for money. And did I mention the lovely staff? They were great.

The hotel is located in Colaba, which is the best spot if you want to visit Mumbai's city center. The room we took was very big and perfectly clean. Also, it was located on the third floor and we couldn't hear a single sound coming from the street. The staff was very helpful and kind throughout our stay. They held our luggages for the full day of the check-out while we visited Mumbai from the morning and our departure time was late in the night. Nayim was especially helpful with us during our stay.

This is a top location and for the money this was a great hotel. The room was huge, clean, quiet and nicely decorated (better than we expected). The bathroom was also a great size and the shower was great. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was great, it was table service with staff offering more food if we wanted it. We really liked our stay here.

The hotel was pretty good so nothing stands out particularly. The restaurant is just off the reception area so lacks atmosphere and the dinner food was just ok (dinning staff were great).

Amazing place. Great people - friendly, helpful and kind. Our room wasn’t read when we arrived, we were offered a rest room where we could refresh, drink chai and wait for our place. Room was very spacious and clean, hot water all the time and AC. We asked for additional bed - which was comfortable too. WIFI was working in the room. All our requests were taken care of. Breakfast was very simple, limited choice, but very tasty.

Having never been to India before I didn't know what to expect, especially for such an affordable price, but the hotel was actually pretty nice! It's clear it needs a bit of TLC, but the room was massive, had lovely floors and bathroom (marble effect) a lift, 24hr security and reception (and the security guard was the loveliest man ever) located right by the gateway to India and other tourist hotspots. It was also a relatively quiet location for such a busy city. The hotel also had a lift and as a female traveller, I felt safe staying here. I would recommend staying here for a budget break away to Mumbai.

The room was a little run down - the blinds had a couple of stains on them, the bathroom had a mould issue on the ceiling due to inadequate ventilation and some of the lights didn't work (there were a lot of light switches!) but none of these things were major issues! Some of the other guests leave their doors open slightly (not sure if this is a cultural thing?) but due to the marble walls and floors, the sound echoed. Speaking to friends staying in another hotel, they had the same issue, so just to be aware! Also it you want a view-this is not the place to stay!

Excellent location. Rooms very large with a bathroom. Clean and very comfortable king size bed with very comfortable pillows. Very little noise considering the hotel was in the heart of Colaba. Also a mini fridge!

A little tired. No face towels only bath towels. Lacking tables for breakfast which means a wait or room service for breakfast.

The hotel is perfectly located to explore the city on your own. We travelled 2 women and 2 teen girls and felt very safe in the area at all times. Loads of shopping and food options around too! The best thing of the hotel is without a doubt their staff, attentive to all our needs and always friendly! Breakfast staff was the best, introduced us to Indian breakfast explaining what it was and recommending different things, we love every dish we tried!! Will definitely choose the Ascot hotel again.

The rooms could have been cleaner and we had to ask for towels and toilet paper as did not replenish after each day.

- Excellent location. Most of the tourist places are near by. Gateway Of India is just walkable distance - Spacious room with very comfortable king size bed. Neat and clean. Large bathroom. My kids enjoyed a lot. - Additional single bed had been provided as needed. - Friendly and helpful staff - Good Indian Breakfast All in all, better than what you see on the website.

The hotel is in one of the best locations of Colaba. Very close to the Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Hotel. Good and peaceful locality. My room was upgraded to the deluxe room. It was a good spacious room with expert room service and reception. Very satisfied with the morning breakfast. Also 1 bottle of Bisleri was provided to each of us on each day. Highly recommended.

The bathroom and storage should have more hooks for ease of managing clothes and towels. Also a doormat should have been placed outside the entrance of the bathroom because after using it we were entering the room with wet feet which is not okay.
