Lovely receptionist beautiful setting and service room lovely and cream tea scones and croissants lovely

The fire alarm was set off accidentally by someone staying at the hotel which woke us both up. I understand this could happen but when people come to stay it needs to be pointed out to them where it is so as not to happen again as I believe it has happened before. I would have appreciated a complimentary apology email with maybe a slight reduction off next visit. It was ashame as I couldn't fault the hotel it was beautiful

The staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The afternoon tea on check-in is a bonus too, it was a lovely start to our break to be able to sit by the river and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea before we went out to explore Grasmere. The room was superbly comfortable and clean, slept like a log. Breakfast was great too, excellent vegetarian options were available too.

It's a push to say I didn't like this but it is something for people to be aware of before booking, the pool and restaurant for evening meals are at a sister hotel a 5 minute walk away.

Beautifully clean, very friendly staff.

The pool is at a different hotel which isn’t made clear on booking.

The location in the heart of the Lakes District was excellent. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasure to sit back and enjoy the afternoon. The staff were pleasant and professional. Breakfast was great having your meal specially prepared for you. Parking was excellent with allocated parking bays.

The pictures of the room make it look much larger than it was. There was not enough room for people with large suitcases to open them. The bathroom was not very well designed with the toilet wedged between the wall and the hand basin making it difficult to use.

We had a great stay at Bridge House. The location was top tier: located in the sleepy village of Grasmere, we were close to the Wordsworths' Dove Cottage as well as their graves in the churchyard at St Oswald's, the gingerbread shop, lots of cafes, a few pubs and restaurants, and some fantastic trails. We came from London on the train (so, without a car) and it was easy to get around the Lakes by bus and on foot (for example, we did a 16 mile run to Keswick and then got the X5 bus to the Lakes Distillery for a tour and tasting). There is a bus stop very close to the hotel, outside the school. The staff were incredible, so welcoming and knowledgeable, they were more than happy to give trail advice, check in with how your visit was going, and offer assistance if needed. The breakfast each morning was really good and we often spent some time in the afternoons reading by the fire in the reception area, where coffees and teas were available all day. We also made use of the sister hotel, the Inn, in the evenings for the sauna which is just a few minutes walk away. Our room was great, nicely decorated and a good size, with the river running behind our building which was lovely. A few reviewers disliked having a shower over a bath, but this didn't seem like an issue and the shower itself had good pressure and was hot which are the important things in my mind!

The wifi, although available, was a little unreliable and kept disconnecting. Not a deal breaker but something that could be improved!

Cream tea available during the aftertoon is a very nice touch! Room was a very good size and comfortable.

Room booked was not what was provided... When inquired with member of staff regarding room decor and lack of mountain and river views, it was confirmed that due to booking room via Booking.com the pictures and descriptions were not correct and instead got a view of the car park which was very disapointing - following morning I was advised they will be looking to create a separate category for the room to avoid recurrence. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal but paid extra for the room as it was for a special ocasion and was disapointed that, whilst member of staff tried to do her best with the situation, no compensation was provided in the end.

This hotel was exceptional in everyway. Quiet, large room, comfortable king sized bed and the sound of the stream through the windows was so tranquil. Staff so friendly and helpful. From the beautiful cooked breakfast to the scones and clotted cream every afternoon it just felt like home. Lots of walks from the beautiful Grasmere village. Jump on the bus if you wish to many places. Good restaurants nearby to walk to and tea rooms at the door. Just so relaxing this place. Lots of parking. Great outdoor and indoor space to relax with complimentary beverages. We will be back one day.

Nothing.

Great location with free designated parking space. We were greeted by a lovely pleasant young lady, Sarah. Check-in was quick and simple and Sarah was very helpful and informative, even printing off a gluten free menu for the restaurant at the sister hotel. We had been upgraded(free) to a superior room with a view overlooking the river and bridge! The room was very large with extra king size very comfortable bed with bedside tables and power points each side, There was a desk/dressing table with mirror, and tea/coffee water and biscuits, plus a large armchair with coffee table by the huge window next to the river! There were 2 double wardrobes, with auto lights inside, plenty of hangars and a safe, plus full length mirror. The bathroom had full length bath with double shower over with plenty of hot water, and a heated towel rail, plus toiletries and shaver point. After unpacking, we went to the conservatory/ lounge for complimentary tea/coffee and scones(GF available). Our room was nice and warm and we slept very well. The full english cooked breakfast (GF available)(pre order night before) was very good with 2 eggs, and brought to the table. My wife (who is Ceoliac) spoke to the chef and the waitress who both had a full understanding of the specific needs of GF preparation! There was a good selection of continental breakfast plus juice tea/coffee self service. The whole place was spotless throughout. Its in an ideal location for touring/walking. The hotel was quiet and peaceful and we would highly recommend it!!

Well.. where do I start! Fantastic hotel - nestled in the heart of Grasmere. Fab location, transport and stay. Beautiful king room, clean and comfy. The staff - Sarah, Amber, Rhian and Ben - were super friendly and welcoming, and most definitely the best staff we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I rang up ahead of time to request a little surprise for my partner’s 30th birthday, and they set up champagne and fresh chocolate strawberries in the room, without hesitation. They even signed a card and left chocolates. Hugely appreciated and made our stay very special. The room was just stunning. We had the river outside the room. The hotel in general is modern, tasteful and spotless and the breakfast, afternoon tea and coffee was excellent. Nothing was too much to ask or do, and you were greeted by smiles, laughter, guidance and support every morning, noon and night. They really went above and beyond - thank you, team! Our new spot for years to come, without a doubt. If you’re looking for a place to stay in grasmere - look no further - you won’t be disappointed..

Nothing - a longer stay, perhaps!

We loved our stay at Bridge house, The room was large with quality furnishings and very clean. The bathroom was of a high standard and the breakfast was superb and fresh. We also loved the idea of being able to utilise the kitchen to make tea and coffee whenever we chose to. They even offer afternoon tea at no extra cost.

If i was to be picky, we was woken at 7.30am to what sounded like a delivery wagon which was quite noisy, however not sure if this was the hotel or a delivery being made to one of the other local businesses.
