The location is great - short 5 to 10 minute walk to the town centre. The are multiple hiking trails accessible from the accommodation and also from Grasmere more generally. The cleanliness of the accommodation was incredibly high. The pillows and bed were incredibly comfortable. I appreciated little extras such as a mini fridge, kettle, teas and biscuits. Michael was a lovely host who provided lots of information on hiking trials and good spots to eat. Very friendly and kind. I will definitely return in the near future.

What a fabulous location. Stopped here for 2 nights as we were travelling back to Suffolk from Aberdeen. A lovely bright room (we had the suite) with an outside seating area with fantastic views. Bed was comfy too. We just hung around Grasmere for the two days we were there. Lots to keep you interested and plenty of places to eat. We noticed that there are regular buses to other areas of the lake district too. We could walk to the main shops from here which took about 10mins and one day we went even further and had a lovely walk around the nearby lake. Will return another time for sure.

Location fab, literally an 8 minute walk into the centre of Grasmere, so we walked around the lake in the evening when it was quieter. Great for walks and local pubs Spotlessly clean...like a show home...we go away a lot and have to say this is the cleanest and most well presented room I think I have ever stayed in. There was an issue with our room we originally booked but Michael the host was great in sorting it out and gave us another room instead. The bath and walk in shower were lovely after walking all day, powerful and hot. Lots of toiletries and welcome drinks/biscuits. View from back window lovely, open it up on a morning and listen to the birds, sheep and cows :)

Noise from other guests...you can hear everything so I didn't sleep well.

Lovely spacious, clean, modern room on the edge of Grasmere. A great base from which to explore the region. We were expecting breakfast to be provided; Booking.com says it isn't, but other sites say it is. Well, it isn't. But that's fine, because the owners also run a cafe in the village, where we had breakfast, which was excellent!

There didn't seem to be any hooks to hang up our coats at the end of the day. But tiny thing really is the only thing we missed!

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, light and airy with an amazing view of the fells. The bathroom was large and clean with both bath and shower facilities. Being on the edge of Grasmere, it was very quiet which is great but was also an easy stroll into the centre for food, shops, museums etc. Parking was no problem and access to buses is also available nearby.

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like about staying at Chestnut Villa

The Chestnut Villa was exceptionally clean and stylish. The rooms are finished to a high standard and we loved the dressing gowns and mini fridge available to use in our room, also the separate dressing room was a lovely touch making our stay feel special. The view from our room was fab, and we love how close the property is to Grasmere without be situated in the village (just a couple of minutes walk in). The owner also owns a gem of a cafe called Freda and Ray in Grasmere which offers a great breakfast and coffee selection! The cappuccino I ordered was gorgeous. I couldn't recommended the Chestnut Villa and the Cafe Freda and Ray more!

Greeted on arrival by Michael and shown to our room, Alcock Tarn (upgrade as wasn’t busy that weekend). Stunning views out of the front and back and spotless inside, spent each morning with a coffee gazing over at Loughrigg Fell. Very spacious area throughout. Brilliant location just a five minute walk into the main village where Freda and Ray’s cafe do a cracking breakfast to set you up for the day. Couldn’t recommend it enough, can’t wait to return.

The deluxe room was excellent. Clean and spacious. Lots of little details, like knowing to replace the instant coffee sachets we had drank the day before, was superb. Bathroom was lovely... Big bath and walk in shower, very clean. Location was just a short walk to Grasmere. Bring a head torch for the dark walks home if heading to the Grasmere pubs :)

Parking was fine for us, but could be really tight if bringing a larger type of car.

Hosts and staff were so so nice during the whole duration of stay. Comfiest bed I have ever slept in (wish I could take it with me). The fridge was a bonus as we had a couple things we needed to keep cold. Finally the whole room was spotless with amazing views out of the window. I would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends and family. Finally, the discount at the cafe was a nice touch, the coffee was 10/10.

The staff were super friendly. I was welcomed and made to feel at home instantly.

I loved everything. Thank you to the host who offered me a free breakfast at the cafe on my first morning to make up for there being no electricity for a few hours. It was a temporary thing, but the host was amazing in making sure i had my morning coffee and I was treated well.
