I have stayed at Cheval properties several times and am never let down. This trip was particularly special. We were greeted warmly by reception staff, who dealt with our heavy bags with grace. Staff in general were friendly and responsive but not at all overbearing (crucial for a relaxing stay!). Our room was perfect, with a magnificent view over New Town and everything we could have needed. Cheval have clearly considered every detail in their rooms- we loved the comfy bed, the lighting, quality furnishings and giant bath. Thank you Cheval!

Excellent location but there are many, many stairs and doors to get to the 2 bedroom apartment. Apartment was clean and comfortable but ceilings very low and felt a little claustrophobic. Staff very helpful and obliging.

The view from the room was fantastic! Waking up to such a beautiful sight every morning was a real treat. The hotel is centrally located, with all major attractions just minutes away. We also loved having a washer and dryer in the room, which made our stay so much more convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend!

The walk up the stairs from the rail station was a bit of a challenge. If you're arriving by train, I'd recommend taking a taxi to the hotel! That five-minute walk uphill turned out to be quite the workout, but it also gave us some great memories—we laughed the whole way up! It didn't affect my rating, though, because everything else about our stay was perfect.

The location on High Street right in the middle of the Royal Mile is exceptional - almost every Edinburgh attraction is just minutes away by foot. The hotel itself is very tastefully done and our room was amazing, with every ammenity we could think of. My wife even took some photos of the bathroom to serve as inspiration for our own. The front desk staff, bartenders, and housekeeping were all friendly and helpful. Even before we arrived the concierge emailed me with tips on the best transport options from the airport.

The only thing that we didn't care for is that the restaurant, which is open to the public, doesn't place a priority on the hotel's own guests. The restaurant menu plainly states that they serve until 10:00PM, but we tried to get a table at 9:25 (there were plenty available) and were told that the kitchen was backed up and had decided to close. What should have happened is that they should have asked us if we were hotel guests, and upon learning that we were, attempted to make some accomodation.

The property is exactly where you want it to be, in the old town, central to a lot of attractions but quietly nestled away. The view from the room was great although only visible through a small window. I'm sure the balcony comes in handy in the warmer months too. The staff were very welcoming and professional, allowing us to check-in early, taking our luggage up to the room etc. The property works on a door code entry system for the building & your room which is perfect if you want to explore in your own time and come and go as you please. It is situated up some beautiful steps which lead you down to the main street with a vast array of places to enjoy coffee, food and other drinks. We were lucky enough to stay while the Christmas markets were beginning so a short wander down the road and you're in the thick of it! You can get to most places on foot, particularly princes park & Edinburgh Castle. We even ventured to Arthurs Seat which isn't too far if you're an able walker. I would say the city is one of the best I've ever visited as there is so much to see and enjoy. The room we had was large, plenty of space for two and everything was high quality, especially the bed. The kitchen is well stocked with coffee machine, toaster, microwave, induction hob plus all the cutlery, pots and pans you could possibly need. The room includes a large TV which allows you to connect to Netflix via your own device & a Bose sound system which connects easily. There is also a gym available to guests which is outside the building, about halfway down the steps & a very lovely restaurant and bar in the main building. Overall a great stay, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed!

We struggled to link our devices to the Netflix system despite following the instructions. Not a massive deal at all but scuppered a movie night in. We also thought that the few coffee pods in the room could be replaced without incurring further cost.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay. The room turned out to be even better than in the pictures. The location is ideal, right on the Royal Mile. Easy to get anywhere. The room was clean, beds were very comfy, all the necessities were provided. Great breakfast starting from 7 am. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

The wooden floors were really squeaky, but I guess this is something to expect in an old building like that. Our room was in their second building and there were a couple of stairs, which was not very convenient with big suitcases. The staff however helped us carry them to our room.

MY GOOGLE REVIEW: We had a true world class experience. While the hotel and the room were certainly beautiful and the is located in the premier location in edinbrough, the true value of this hotel IS THE SERVICE PEOPLE!!! They were all so kind, so helpful, so caring. I felt like we actually made a number of friends from the visit and my wife and I can’t wait to go back. My wife had some physical issues and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us in every possible way. It was truly beautiful to see. Very special shoutout to Vanessa at the front desk.

Beds were very comfortable. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Having an exceptional restaurant, Luckenbooths, right next door was very convenient. We enjoyed the food so much that we ate there each night of our stay.

The hot water system was a big issue. We were offered another room but since we were settled and our stay was only a few days we decided not to move, hoping it was a one-off occurrence. It wasn't, unfortunately. Also the washer/dryer was a great washing machine but a hopeless dryer. Once again the staff were very understanding and offered to dry the clothes in the hotel dryer but since some fabrics were delicate we declined. The heated towel racks dried everything off very nicely anyway. Throughout these issues we want to emphasise that the staff were prompt, empathetic and professional in helping us. We could not fault them.

Worth every penny. Just a wonderful property perfect location, beautiful suite and the staff were fantastic. (Thanks Oliver!). The location is ideal. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect and exceeded expectations. Comfy beds, baths were roomy and everything you need (full size shampoo, conditioner, shower/bath gel/lotion in a signature scent - nice to not have to go get anything once you arrive) . Kitchen fully appointed. Just a fantastic home base to relax after all the walking in the city. Washer/dryer unit was a bonus! ..

That we could not stay longer in this beautiful city in this beautiful apartment. There is nothing not to like! Caution though if you are walking from Waverly, which is a very short walk, do not take the google maps route that takes you to Warriston's Close. It is like 100 stairs with luggage.

We thought the location, staff and room were really great. The TV and associated paid networks were super easy to use. We had a corner room with a great view of Cockburn and the gardens. The automation was fantastic from the security to the lighting. All in all it was fantastic. We only had 3 comments / small suggestions

The fans in the bathrooms were particularly loud. Would have been nice to have a small milk in the fridge for coffee/tea. Hard to read the writing on the lighting
